Oh, I'd like to see how the new "Keep" system works or what choices are coming over.
Hopefully there aren't too many choices, because players don't actually like having to make lots of choices before getting into the action.
Saying that, Trespasser ending slide already harmonized a lots of stuff so the choices you made have already been sweep under the rug. The game doesn't appear to interact with Orlais/Ferelden region that much, DA2 was mostly self-contained and DAO was 20 years ago. So the list might actually be quite small.
Aren't they doing a "previously on" type with Varric narrating it? Well, I'm sure if no one wants to do that. They have a world state that's already there. Thus, they can just jump into the character creator or use a dev made one if they wanted to. I'm sure that's still a thing as it was in DAI.

Yes and I was under the impression the world state choices were done during that narration, so it can't be that long.
You would even think Varric would just related the big stuff from his romanceThis Shit is Wierd novel.
Once the NDA embargo is over on 19th September, I'm expecting lots of useful information about the CC. Specifically, I'm looking at which faction benefits a chosen class. In my case, a mage. We assign a faction at this stage and I want to max the benefits. I know that Neve get three bonuses with her faction.
It's important, to me, to arm myself with knowledge and understanding when choosing a class spec. Not only that, but this game is designed to provide synergy and additional bonuses with the right type of team selection. At min. we have Mage+Tank. The third member of the squad should also max the group .
Those that decide to bury themselves somewhere to avoid "spoilers" will struggle to build an effective char, imo. But, hey, we are free to do it in our own way.

That sucks for me, I only work half day that Friday, but it won't launch until 6 pm CET. Guess I'll spend that half day I have off pining...
I might be missing something very obvious here, but does it not launch Thursday evening for you? Friday is November 1st. You should be able to spend your half day off playing.
Perhaps 10:00 PM October 31st ... at least for Sydney? Oops ... maybe Sweden ... seems Quizzy is correct? 9 AM PDT = 6PM CET = 9 hours later I still hate time zone conversions ... even with the internet helping me ...I think ...

Think the most obvious choices will be the Well drinker choice, the choice with the Wardens/ Hawke and the Inquisitor's relationship with Solas. From there maybe even any of the main quest choices, the fate of the Inquisition, and there is a small possibility that even if they don't appear you will also be able to toggle how the Inquisitor felt about each companion. Either friend, neutral, hate, for the romances who they romanced.
Now the other thing about this is how many of these choices will they put in there that MIGHT have nothing to do with what happens in Veilguard itself. Because if you put a small number of choices to import with the CC then obviously those choices will matter but if they have a lot of fluff choices it opens up the possibility for misdirection.

Well, Quizzy said the game is launching 6pm CET, and as far as I know, CET is central European time, so I'm assuming she's in Europe. (I can't remember.) Unless Europe is getting the game November 1st instead of October 31st, then Quizzy should be getting it Thursday evening, not Friday evening, allowing her to play on Friday when she has time off.

I highly doubt the Well Drinker choice will be included. Mythal is gone . . . who drank from the well will have zero impact on DAV.
Same with Wardens/Hawke choice. We already know Hawke isn't appearing in the game. Whoever you sent to warn the wardens will be resolved off camera and won't be mentioned (it was nearly 10 years ago after all).
Both are super easy to write out of the story.
Inquisitor Solas romance . Yes!
But overall I'm not expecting more hand half a dozen choices to be imported. They are going to make the choice selection process as quick and easy as possible and minimize reactivity from the previous games.

We don't really know whether Mythal is gone, or what sort of part of her power Solas has absorbed that could affect the Well-drinker. The powers themselves could also be vital whether Mythal is gone or not - after all, we do know from Trespasser that they're still active, as they whisper Fen'Harel's old password (that Mythal knew) to Inky.
Both are super easy to write out of the story.
Just like Inquisitor was, but they retain both Inky and Morrigan, meaning that the conditions to preserve this plot point are present.
But overall I'm not expecting more hand half a dozen choices to be imported. They are going to make the choice selection process as quick and easy as possible and minimize reactivity from the previous games.
Peeps, don't forget that past choices may always be brought back by things like picking specific dialogue option during conversation too. So the number of choices through tarot cards may not be all there is.

I'm not doubting her time conversion, just the day. Unless I'm missing something here, which is possible.
Sweden is 9 hours after 9AM PDT, Hence 6PM in Sweden on the same day (Halloween Oct 31st).
Sydney would be even later ... 2 AM November 1st ... Remember Australia celebrates New Years Day before Europe, Africa, N America, S America and most of Asia. California (PDT) celebrates New Year Day 17 hours after Sydney.
Did I mention I hate time conversions ... in addition to my befuddlement about which direction the earth rotates

Yes, that's what I'm saying. It should release for QuizzyBunny on Thursday, October 31st at 6pm, and therefore she should be able to play it on Friday. She seemed to be thinking DAV releases at 6pm on Friday, rather than Thursday, hence saying she wouldn't be able to use her time off on Friday to play. But she can.

Looks like you will be watching the clock at work Friday morning, half asleep, after playing DAtV all night Thursday Hallow's Eve. LOL??
I was befuddled thinking Halloween was Friday instead of Thursday. I need sleep after my first day back to work after a week's staycation. Good Night.
I'm done being stupid ... at least until "tomorrow".

I can spend 30+ minutes in the CC just because there are 3 choices of background/deity/trait.
I wouldn't mind a comprehensive choice library.
For the impatient - there always can be "make the 3 important choices, rest defaults itself".
Those that decide to bury themselves somewhere to avoid "spoilers" will struggle to build an effective char, imo. But, hey, we are free to do it in our own way.
Eh, we've got free respec at any time, so if one build doesn't work then you can switch it out for another one. I doubt the faction bonuses will be so unbalanced that picking one over another will make much long-term difference, especially on Normal difficulty or below.
There's a very easy difficulty, you can set parry dodge as uber easy, and you can even have a no death mode. People will manage, the only problem might be the time wasted on bullet sponges ennemies. And lack of fun.

I assume you can respec the skills / specializations within your given skill tree. I very much doubt you will be able to change class or race.
