Taash is written by Weekes, right? And voiced by a non-binary. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another Dorian situation, and they know they’ll be met with severe backlash for it. The only controversy are going people who want ignore the lore on how the Qun assign gender to roles within the Qun. I'm pretty sure that's why they have alluded to with Taash, she's probably a Tal-Vasoth and was part of the army before which makes her a "male" to the eye of the Qun. Bone Daddy (jesus what am I typing...) Something very awful.

Given things I would be a bit hesistant about Taash if they dip their toe in that style, logically I know Dorian and Krem worked out very well, but there is a possibility that they will always face plant. That being said if that is the angle they go for I would suddenly be very interested in seeing where they go.

Hey everyone, I’ve been fine with spoilers and have watched most of the videos, only skipping those that include character introductions, specific conversations, and major plot reveals. From what I’ve noticed, most of the spoiled content focuses on everyone except Taash—and to a lesser extent, Emmrich. Has there been any new information about them since the embargo was lifted?
Ah, yes... Taash. I'm surprised we have not seen more of her in the post 19th videos.... unless she come aboard after 7 hrs of gameplay... which means team members will trickle in as the game progresses.
So, who is first to the Lighthouse? I'm going for the trio of:
The Rook Neve Harding
Those aer the firs t 3with Bellara bein gth enext one yo urecruit afte rthe openin gmission. After tha tit's not s oclear but given Bellara isa Veiljumpe rthe world might jus topen up a bit after tha tand ewge ta bi tof freedom t ochoose maybe who join when a sremember in DAI we can choos ewhich order to pick Blackwall, Iron Bull Vivienne and Sera in or even not to pick them up. Seein gas othe rthan a coupl eof CC vids I'v enot watched any vids on Veilguard last couple of weeks s othere coul db esomething I've missed.

Your my Star Wars Outlaws tech support, aren't you? Will add it to my resume
I actually can't wait for DAV to release and all the people that will set their graphic settings to max. Because "my system covers the Recommended requirements".
There will be a lot of "this game is unoptimized" posts and videos. And nobody will care/notice the game has some pretty heavy RT options that aren't supposed to be used by anyone with a card weaker than a 3090.
Bioware really should do the smart thing and revise/add to/update their current System Requirements. Because I am pretty sure a 2070 won't fare well with the full range of RT effects. Even a 9900k will have to work a lot with RT to On.
And as Patrick Stewart said in Sims Medieval - "people are stupid". It's absolutely certain that 95% of the people with a RTX 2070 and above will immediately max out every single setting in the game, no matter what the description says or what their resolution is. And what will they do next when the game barely runs at 10 FPS? Lower a setting? Nope! Look for an optimization advice? You wish! Make a rage post/video on social media? Ding ding ding!
Yeah I don't expect to run it at 100% maxed out on mine. But then I d orun a tlower resolutions whic hdoes help a little bit I think as I mostly game at 1080 p on PC. But I think I'll be able to run mos tsettings at medium/high but I'll se ewha tGeForce experience recommends when I updat ethe drivers and everything as I'll likely do that before launch. For me so long as I can get the game running relatively smooth I don' t really care. I know EA's anti cheat system the yhave in th eFifa's do hamper that games performance which is why I'm kin do fglad Veilguard won' thav tha tgiven i tis a single player game but i tshould herlp the game run smoother. But it is on eo fth emain reason wh yI pla Fifa on m yXbox these days as I only reall ypla yofflin ecarerr mode I don' tneed m ygaming experience hampered due t osom epeopl etha tmay or ma ynot cheat especially as I don' t touch Ultimate Team.

Severe backlash? I don't remember the Dorian hate being strong. Sure there were a few weirdos saying he's ugly or Dragon Age was corrupted by the SJWs overtaking Bioware but none of them repeated the same rants when we all got to play the game. I'm sure Taash would be well received. I think Dragon Age hasn't gotten any severe backlash. Reactions to the elimination of companion control and some enemy and character designs are tame to me. So, I didn’t get into the community until way after DAI had come out, so all I know is from what I’ve been told (mostly from here, actually). Supposedly some people, including gays, didn’t appreciate Dorian’s personal quest. It was a whole thing and DG got a lot of hate for it, from all sides. Since he wrote Dorian’s quest based on personal feelings, It’s not impossible PW has done the same with Taash and fears the same reaction. That’s all I was saying. I can try to break it down from my experience: IIRC some people (I assume genuinely) misunderstood Dorian's personal quest, thinking it was about his dad being upset that Dorian is gay specifically (yes that's the real life subtext) more than it being about Dorian not willing suck it up and procreate for the legacy of the family (the totally lore-accurate in-setting reason). There's also the blood-magic-mind-control-Dorian-into-conforming thing being analogous to real-life staying in the closet and 'conversion therapy'. I can understand getting mixed up because the writing works on two levels--one for the characters and one for the audience (like imo good writing should)... and sometimes our media literacy just fails us and we miss the point. Then there are others who say they get it but they consider that "injecting politics in my escapism" and that it's preachy and divisive and 'bad writing.' That's certainly an opinion but I like it when fiction has something relevant to say (and would rather someone attempt to do so clumsily, than not say much at all, or say something but not have the courage to be anything but wishy-washy about it) so I can't sympathize much. Then finally there are just the plain bigoted assholes who think they're being sly by hiding behind one of the previous camps, supposedly concerned about lore or historical accuracy or writing quality but they're usually very bad at obfuscating their visceral disgust for gay people for too long.

That's a little unusual right? Her recruitment mission wasn't part of the hands-on event, so nothing unusual there. They haven't shown Emmrich recruitment mission either and nobody is starting conspiracy theories about it.

It is kind of amusing that we're trying to find a reason for Bioware to not show even more game footage prior to game release. We've already seen more game footage than I've seen of any other game I've bought in the last few years. How much more ravenous can we be? (I kid, I kid, I know exactly how starved the Bioware/Dragon Age fandom is after ten years of drought and kicking around in our own heads)
I am very interested in both Emmrich and Taash as companions and potential LIs, and am excited that the mysteries have been left for me to explore in-game, honestly. There's something special about really getting into the meat of the details through my own experience.

I think Bioware probably wants to have some balance between revealing too much vs too little about the companions. We have already some ideas on how the companions work in the game.
I don't recall how DAI was marketed. Did we know about DAI companions equally before launch or did we know more about some and less about others?

It was very inconsistent. They revealed some really cool CGI trailers for only a few companions and then just went bare min with the rest. I don't even think they covered all of them.

I don't even think they covered all of them. Yeah, Varric, The Iron Bull, and Vivienne all got full companion trailers (all of which were very good, I was lowkey hoping for similar ones for Veilguard), but then other companions were practically not mentioned (I remember Sera and Cole in particular barely getting any detailed coverage, though of course Cole was at least a previously known character). The only thing we knew for sure was who the companions and advisors could and couldn't romance (so we knew Dorian was gay and Solas was only into elven women), and boy I remember those discussions clearly.
