If you closely, you'll also see smaller orbs circling around the main fire beam spewing thunder and ice. It's more like an elemental blast. Speaking of "Destructive Light", has there ever been Light/Dark based spells in Dragon Age? I don't recall any in Inquisition, but maybe there was possibly some in DA2 or Origins? I haven't played those games in a while, so it's hard to remember. Yep, multi-elemental blast!

I mentioned this briefly before, but they do have a Dwarven Mage in the CC, but with a lock over it. So I'm wondering if that means we can unlock it at some point. 🤔 There is no class respecialization in-game. I'm still going to go Reaper. It's going to be like a Mage, but with more green and a bigger weapon and a throwable energy shield. True, you can't normally respec your class. But, perhaps a certain point in the storyline? Perhaps you do something that opens up the option on a 2nd PT? I have a feeling they didn't include a Dwarf Mage in the CC for nothing. I am curious to see the Reaper in action though. The Reaver was my favorite Warrior spec in DAI.

Eh, to me that looks like it's just an explainer so newbies to the series don't wonder why the option is missing in their copy.

Even though this would solve my “want to play a dwarf but also want to play a melee mage!” dilemma, I gotta agree that I think it’s just there to tell the noobs that you can’t be a compact magic missile launcher, crushing their hopes. But not their dreams, cus dwarves don’t get those either.

You think of Allegra Clark. Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up Speaking of Allegra Clark though....I think I did see in some video that Josey will be in the new game (there was some chatter about not recognizing her because her character model/appearance had changed or something...Do I have that right?) anyways, I'm curious to know (if this is true) will Allegra Clark be voicing her? I think you’re confusing it with this video. Some people felt the devs hesitated in answering when asked about Josephine, and interpreted it as them not recognising her, thus assuming she’s not in the game.

Some people felt the devs hesitated I found the debate about this video highly disingenuous. It was the vocal director (who joined after Inquisition) who didn't recognise Zevran and others. Alli Hillis was only in Inquisition and is there to act (and Harding is only really interacting with the Inquisitor). I found the rage videos about this to be prime clickbaitery.

Like 90% of the Veilguard inspired rage? Oh don't get me started. Much of the rage is coming from 'woke' vs. 'inclusion', that seems to be the engine room of the rage. Beyond that, the biggest critiques seem to be art style and character design (much of which I see as a consequence of Frostbite) though to me gaming is full of stylised games (and BioWare has made strides forward since inquisition). And the choices from prior games? I get it, though I think it's partly an emotional disappointment, I get the logical arguments on both sides. Review day is going to be fascinating. I'd like it to be good enough to count Veilguard as a 'win' and to sell enough to keep EA happy, to preserve BioWare's future path for Mass Effect 5 and onwards.
Ngl, I was unaware it was even considered an issue outside of BSN. I just remember the opinion being brought up here by a few people once or twice. Sadly yes, multiple videos: 'Dragon Age directors don't know Origins characters, slap in face to real fans, grrr, etc etc...'

Like 90% of the Veilguard inspired rage? The latest one I've seen on Twitter was yelling about there being enemy weaknesses and resistances and changing weapons (or was it abilities) to deal with certain enemies I'm Veilguard. That's been kind of a staple of RPGs for a long time. Souls games are certainly full of it. In Origins, I reloaded an earlier save to deal with the Broodmother so my Dalish archer and Leliana had arrows with electric damage equipped and made sure Morrigan had Lightning in her equipped spells. Broodmother was a bastard of a fight without it haha. Either these people are being disingenuous to troll/spam the conversation or really are "tourists".

Honestly, my biggest issue with Alistair was that he was way too pale. You fix that and there’s probably fewer complaints. And I never cared about Teagan in the first place, so that one didn’t register at all until I saw discourse online.

I remember seeing Alistair and Teagan in inquisition and thinking 'what have they done!' Yes I remember seeing Cassandra in DA2 and then in DAI. We do not know what was done here, but my guess is: either redefine the whole mesh, or do it from scratch. Been there too. Fex. DA2 might have used 3D format which would've been horrible to translate to the format what new engine was "eating". Just an example, but the engine itself does not say what kind of 3D object/scene it'll take, mostly the format. The engines can be expanded using external libraries to do facial animation etc. If the format is something most engines read, the data will be shown as it is (hoping the importer works as it is supposed to - I have nightmares about this here though ) in the scene. Back in the dark times of 3D the engine might have had limitations like "face can only be 20 polygons from which 10 can be animated" and "100 polygons per char". These days you can push millions of polygons in a face and gpu's dont sweat. CPU's died to these (yes I've tried software renderers a lot ). But the basic is, art goes in as it is, the engine does not modify it (if you dont add modifiers etc.), it is shown as it is.
