Speaking of graphics, the hair is absolutely flawless, but this game has a weird thing with lighter hair, where lighting/shadows can really overwhelm and change/darken the hair color in a dramatic fashion. In Minrathous, my blonde Rook has had green, platinum-blue, and jet-black hair. I’m in sunny Arlathan forest, and my light blonde haired Room suddenly has dark brown hair if standing in the shade. Off-putting to say the least. The lighting options in the CC don’t indicate such a dramatic change, so I’m often surprised by it. It can really change your character. With dark hair obviously this is less noticeable. I’m wondering if there’s a setting that alleviates this, because it’s just too much. LOVE that the hair picks up the light like it does, but something seems off with light hair and shadows. 🧐 Yea htha tis th ething with th estrand hair spometimes i tdoes look a bi todd i ndifferen lightin condition I'v enoticed th esam ein Fifas/FC. It' sstill bette rthan what w eused t ohav ebecaus ein cutscenes it' sgorgeous bu tin gamepla yi tcan look odd. I haven' tstarted m yLuc yye tas I'm still waitin gfo rm yPC t odownload. So ther's a goo dchanc eI migh tno tstar the runtil tomorrow. My download is 60% done but I'm playin gm ypractic erun while I wai tcurrentl yplayin gBellara' ercruitmen tmission atm.

Rook's theme (Not the Chosen One) is one of the best. I like Rook's theme more that i like main theme. I literally have been listening to it on repeat for half an hour now.
Overall, i like soundtrack. It's VERY different from all previous DA soundtracks and sometimes gives me Mass effect vibes (there was a moment during Lucanis' recruitment mission, where if i didn't know any better, i'd think that it's from ME), but it's still good, imo.
It's the synths that are offputting. Imo synths have no place in Dragon Age and they kept appearing over and over. I think DA should mostly be strings and drums.

Yeah, unless I can find a bright light spot, I played like 80% of the prologue and Arlathan with a dark-haired Rook. And her hair in the CC (tested with all the different lighting options) is very light, near platinum blonde. Weird... This is basically what I mean: vs.

I was absolutely thinking the same with ME music during Lucanis's mission

I am so many pages behind that I'm not even gonna try to catch up with this thread.
I played a few hours on release day, progressing enough to unlock locations in the wider world. It was at that point that I became convinced that I'd missed the option to customize my Inquisitor and World State. Indeed, I had. Sigh. I wish they'd made it unmissable, requiring an opt-out rather than opt-in. Oh, well.
So, I restarted with my same Rook: Gareth Ingellvar, Human Male Mage, Mourn Watch. (He sort of looks like a young Terry Chen with a scar over his left eye and brow.) I was a little undecided on my Faction, and went Mourn Watch because I liked its passive and its casual outfit. Now, I really like how its story has fit Rook. It's going to take some time, but I'm sure I'll eventually play every faction.
I'm really enjoying the combat, though it's not perfect. There's a slight sluggishness or latency to it that rankles, sort of like AC Unity. I prefer snappy responsiveness, but this is still far, far superior to previous entries, so I'll merrily enjoy it.
I still need to get better at parrying with my Mage Dagger. The camera is often unhelpful. I'm frequently not looking when a projectile heads my way, so it's easier to simply dodge.
I usually prefer to learn a game on Hard before tackling Very Hard modes, and I'm glad I did that here. I'm already getting a good handle on Underdog, and I bet Nightmare would've just felt grindy and punishing for a noob.
I've already experienced some cool lore revelations without progressing the game very far at all. I can't wait to see what we learn and which new questions are created.

sjsharp2010, it's a shame you can't transfer saves between PC and Xbox. At least your time on Xbox will familiarize you with the gameplay, and then you'll feel more polished in your early PC run.
