There are some people who are just convinced that the game is a collosal failure and will do anything even cling on to the words of a games journalist of all people just to trash the game lol. It's everywhere. I literally muted the main subreddit. It just popped up on my reddit feed constantly with "you know what else I hate" like OK yeesh. Where's the fun art!? I see some on Twitter at least. That should at least convince you that its not just anti woke people bashing the game. The main DA sub literally bans anyone like that. This game has just been rejected by the majority of the fans. Even I am shocked at how negative the DA sub, its usually positive

Wow not even one important nomination (not even for best RPG game)...pretty pathetic for Bioware especially after those "great" reviews. I thought most people liked this game..weird Once again, not being nominated doesn't mean it's a bad game. It’s certainly a very negative outcome and I doubt internally they were like inquisition won but we don’t even want to be short listed.

No it's not lol. Since when did people care about games journalists? I thought they were all paid off but now they're important again because a game you hate isn't nominated.

Interesting because fans seemed to care when Inquisition won GOTY and constantly mentioned it over the last decade Not even getting one important nomination for Veilguard is just embarassing for Bioware especially since this game was supposed to be a "return to form" and was hyped up a lot. I'm sorry I need to understand what the point of this is? Until we get sales figures and performance metrics it's incredibly premature to say anything is embarrassing about BioWare. In fact people are *far* more focused on the drama regarding a DLC getting nominated than anything else. Nobody talking about Veilguard's nominations (or lack thereof) for this award show, for good or ill. Yea, even with my algorithm on Twitter mostly set up to pick up noise about Veilguard, mostly I see people being like 'why was DLC for 2022 game nominated for GOTY???"

Right then why they didn't pay off the critics to get goty nomination. What not enough money? Fuck off with that fucking bullshit. I'm actually curious what your proof is.

Compare the games DAI was going against in 2014 and now. Rebirth alone would’ve swept the awards if it were released then. If your best argument is that actually DAI was mediocre as well then...okay. I'm just saying that this is bad optics for BW right now and they reeaaaaally need a win. But I can't say DAV really deserves to be nominated, they played it too safe, the game is fun but that's about it. I treall ydepends on wha tBiowae ran dEA conside ra win thes edays though. They may alread consider Veilguard a win but we'll see.Fo rme i feels like one as i tfeel st me Biowae ris back t oit' sbes tbu tclearly general opinion i ssomewha tdivided on that. I d ofeel tha tVeilguard is bette rthan Andromeda either way and I real yenjoyed Andromeda so for m eit's a step in the right direction.

It just adds to the game being a disaster. Bad sales, horrible player reception (no matter where you look) and now zero nominations and I doubt it gets any important awards from other publications either. Thats pretty bad considering before release Bioware and paid off critics were hyping it up as a return to form for Bioware.. I wouldn't say there was a horrible player reception. It sits on 4/5 on PSN and around 7/10 on steam. I'd say player reception was good but not great. Hard to tell if it was a success until sales figures come out. I'm just looking at this forum, the main Dragon age subreddit and other places like youtube and its very negative. Like I barely see anyone liking the game. Its either hated or not really talked about at all. I guess we can wait until the sale figures come out but the fact that EA/Bioware haven't even posted about it passing any sort of milestone already says a lot. At best it sold ok (like not bad enough to kill Bioware like that studio that made Concord) I doubt I will be proven wrong but I guess we will see

People would be pissed. Where are all the Veilguard fans? And its not just about this award, I doubt it will get any major awards which is a bad thing no matter how you try to justify it

They paid off the major gaming sites before release to generate hype to sell copies. Now that people actually played it and the overall reception has been awful there is no point to buy off a GOTY nomination. The backlash would be horrible. Ask yourself why didn't IGN post the critical review first, instead they posted one where the reviewer couldn't stop jerking off to the game.

Really, I couldn't care less what goes on in the internet about the game. I do not look for approval of other people if I like a game or not. I do not care whether it's nominated for some award or not. It fascinates me to no end that people actually gather "evidence" of a game fail, when we STILL don't know how well it sold so far. EA will let us know, or not. But hey, now even I was curious and checked the German game charts. Veilguard is in 6th place, not too shabby I guess.
Remember when there was no internet and all we did was play games for fun and we either liked them or not? Yeah...

So they are just conveniently silent..which is interesting because usually fans of popular games are anything but silent even if their games get some backlash (see The Last of Us 2, Cyberpunk 2077 etc.). But Veilguard fans are somehow not found (apart from a small minority) on any major sites because they are playing the game. Sounds a bit silly...especially since its been over two weeks. Most hardcore fans would be finished at this point.

I think we only learned that Inquisition was the best-selling Bioware game to date and sold 12 million copies only shortly before release of Veilguard and mentioned off-handedly by a dev who's not working there anymore (well, working, but in a consultant role)
