I did experience the funniest bug I've ever personally seen in a DA game, where one of the dragons flew majestically into the combat arena and then the model promptly unloaded. This left me to fight an invisible boss with only the targeting reticle to aim at, so she landed on me a lot . Didn't run into that issue with the dragons, however...

Didn't run into that issue with the dragons, however... That Elven magic man, not even once. I laughed so hard at people showing screenshots from last confrontation with Elgar'nan, where all that's visible was his wig - made 1000% funnier with information that he does indeed wear a wig

Naw, I'm going to have to bring some IRL stuff now - it's because on November 5th an important election happened and I know at least a few devs who were chatty before, announced that they won't be talking about the game for some time after that. Also, the Twitter decay and current exodus is really taking shape - and during previous releases the devs were mostly active on Twitter. Now their presence is much more fragmented with what happened/happens to that platform, never mind that the state of all other social platforms (filled mostly with slop, bots and those farming engagement) is pretty bad right now. the 'twitter exodus' here sounds like a false lead in this case. We know that many of the devs already left and there are a lot more avenues on SM. And like six of one half dozen of the other but people are talking about the game, and positively, regardless. Just that it's going to take people a hot minute to finish and a lot of even pretty friendly places are inundated with personal attacks against people who have finished. Plus I mean I'm not sure how many people will talk about the game. No DLC, unlikely to be minor expansions through patches, no new news to keep people engaged. Nothing till the next ME drops in 2026 at the earliest. Though I'll likely be playing VG till May. There were more avenues before, and yet most devs still chose Twitter, and those other avenues now aren't necessarily much better now (which is a thing I've mentioned). Also - it doesn't matter whether they're on bluesky already or not, because a lot of fandom still isn't (and a lot of devs activity is interacting with fans) - with the exodus and decay of Twitter things are in a state of flux, while bluesky has to handle the sudden influx of people (including the unwanted element that followed them) and doesn't properly work at all times (it has 20 employees and 20 million users ATM - so they have 1 employee per million people. I don't think I have to explain that it can be a bit overwhelming) However, I do agree that there will be inevitably be less overall talk about DA, given that the Veilguard is a chapter where a lot of thigs they've been setting up and hinting got its resolution. It does have hints and clues about things that may happen in DA5, but they simply didn't build the sort of anticipation to see where the story is going without post-credit Dread Wolf reveal in DAI, and then Trespasser hitting in all the right places a year after release. And if we even get a DLC, it's definitely not going to be Trespasser-like - nor we can tell at this point what sort of small content updates we could get during the support period (my assumption is that we may be getting something announced at D4 day)

Like I barely see any people commend just how stable the game is. People ironically straight up proving that releasing stable games is not actually a priority after all. Just release broken games and people will be fine as long as the vibes are good. My eye still twitches a little when I hear about how stable the game is for everyone else. TBF, the main was pretty stable for me (3-4 crashes), but the CC crashed on me twice, including once just as I was about to enter the game (lost at least 2 hours). Hrungr was not a happy camper. At least it wasn't as bad as DA:I in the early days! That is so interesting. I was absolutely certain I would have serious issues with my Soviet era computer but the game worked perfectly. Pretty sure you have a much better computer than I do, so it's very peculiar as to why you of all people should have issues. Edit: I should add that Baldur's Gate 3 crashed for me regularly, probably still does but I had to uninstall it to make room for Veilguard on my Soviet potato.

I've had some serious problem with crashing that happened when I've had strand hair on, but I somehow managed to fix it???? I'm really not sure what I've done - I've been tinkering with some settings and play in fullscreen mode now, instead of borderless, which seems to have minimized the crashing, but it still happened sometimes. Then I began using Razer Cortex Game Booster, and it must be switching off some apps or processes that are conflicting with the game while it's running, because so far not a single crash happened when the Boost is on.

Dragon Age account is relatively quite regarding the game (cmiiw), would like to hear more statistics about which choices got picked most by the players - would love to see the numbers regarding how many percentage of the player base chooses to stab chud-las god of lies/gaslighting and sent him to fart prison

This is so weird, I play the game on Linux and I got zero visual artifacts bugs. The only issue I had was strand hair causing my video card to reset which is now fixed via a driver update.

How's the performance on Linux generally? And if I may what's your gpu/CPU? (I'm looking to upgrade my rig in the near future and going back to Linux)

How's the performance on Linux generally? And if I may what's your gpu/CPU? (I'm looking to upgrade my rig in the near future and going back to Linux) Moved back last May after reading some stuff about Win11 and just went "forget it". I read that Valve working hard on proton made Linux gaming way better in the last 10 years, so I gave it a swing. I wasn't disappointed. For DAVe: super smooth with everything on high/ultra. I had to wait for a proton and driver update for hair strand and RTX to not crash (played with them off for 2 weeks), but since then super stable with that on too. And so pretty. Only weird things, can't get upper case letters despite shift working fine in game (probably a wine issue or whatever). The only other recent releases I played is Horizon Forbidden West and that was more demanding than Veilguard, so I had to go more with medium settings. BG3/Starfield works fine thought. Zero issues with my older games. Probably less issues then Windows with EA Apps, but Steam is the easiest for Linux gaming. You can check www.protondb.com/ for how well games work (and tips sometimes to get stuff to run). Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (16) @ 4.56 GHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 X and 32 GB of RAM

Heyyy, I didn't know that, so I'm posting here - there's a way to import Inquisitor to the game from previous saves.

That's really good to know for the future - I've saved pics of all the settings for both my Rooks and Inquisitors for now though lol - now all we need is for Bioware to give us a way to edit our Inquisitors after they've been made, whether it be via the same mirror in the Lighthouse, or some other way.

The descriptions alone are enough to sell me on some of these "First Pass" MP characters for DA:I. (Also, I see now why Dagna had that cage for her "experiments". ) www.artstation.com/artwork/GvOnbd

...Gotta wonder if many people recognize that the Hermit is actually Anders. And the Crow could very well be Zevran. The armor's very close to the concept art.

Here's a very interesting thread from David Gaider, especially in the context of recent discussions about the creative process of game development. David Gaider @davidgaider.bsky.socialCHARACTERS - DAY ONE: Morrigan Morrigan began, waaaay back, as a bit of Morgan le Fey (hence the Dark Ritual) mixed with Delirium from Sandman. The Delirium elements subsided into more of a weird cadence of speech as my idea of Morrigan solidified - more cynical, wanting to connect but unable to. Originally, we were looking for a Middle Eastern actress to play her, as Shoreh Aghdashloo was slated to play Flemeth and we wanted a similar sounding voice -- but it was a real struggle, and then Shoreh unfortunately had to drop out to do a movie. So suddenly we had nobody for either character! Then, one day, Caroline (our VO Director) comes in with a recording sent by a rep for Claudia Black - who hadn't done game VO back then but wanted to get into it. And it was Claudia doing a slow *beat poet* rendition of Baby Got Back. I kid you not. I was already a fan, so I lost my goddamn mind. (Yes, I still have the recording. No, you cannot have it.) Naturally, we jumped on that immediately. As I recall, this was met with resistance from higher up - they had this image of Morrigan as young, like 18 years old (no idea where this came from) and complained that Claudia sounded "too old". Them: "She sounds like she smokes three packs a day!" Me: "That's what I like about her!" Caroline and I were determined, so we pushed ahead. We had to agree to get Claudia to sound "younger", which I was dubious about. The first two sessions we asked her to pitch her voice up and it was AWFUL. Claudia had to focus on sounding "right" instead of acting. So Caroline and I did the sneaky thing, and on the third session we asked her to just... act. Use her natural voice. We loved her performance so much we had the feeling that the team would love it too and forget their nonsense. They did. My best memory of Claudia was when we first met. I'd been flown down to LA for the initial sessions to help the major DAO actors find the character "voice" and, boy, was I nervous. It didn't help that I was a huge fanboy of Claudia's and she was going to be the *first* of all the actors I'd talk to. Caroline gave me a list of rules for "how to talk to a celebrity" - top of the list: DO NOT COMPARE THEM TO OTHER ACTORS. So I meet Claudia, and I'm sweating. I think: I'll start from the beginning, right? "Well, when I started writing Morrigan, the voice in my head was Helena Bonham Carter..." Claudia gives me a look and tilts her head. "So what you're saying is... I'm a very cheap version of Helena Bonham Carter." I'm mortified. I melt. I gasp and stutter and she lets me implode for maybe 30 seconds before she throws her head back and LAUGHS. So wicked. I love her instantly and forever. For the next several days, whenever she's in the booth and I make a comment to Caroline - which she can't hear, because the booth is sound-proof - she'd say "Oh, does he want it more like Helena?" And I'd melt into the desk in renewed mortification and she'd LAUGH. This is Claudia in a nutshell. Morrigan became a real touchstone for me, the heart of DAO. Way beyond her initial inspirations. Some said "she's just an ice queen" like some I'd written (Viconia, Bastila, etc.) but such categories are very reductive, I find. She had a voice I could instantly slip into, every time, without fail. The problem, after DAO was said and done, was with how we were going to honour the Dark Ritual going forward... or, more to the point, how we *weren't* going to honour it. I wasn't willing to let her go, however, so I had to figure it out. BUT... that's a story for another day. ❤️ CORRECTION: A friend reminds me that the beat poet recording Claudia did was "Smack That" and NOT "Baby Got Back", and now I need to go give it another listen just because I can. 😀
