I'm honestly ok with the CDPR approach that they adopted of ":vague announcement, then radio silence for 5 years". If Bioware had that approach, I'd be fine with it, too. But they made a vague announcment and then keep talking about it on twitter, so I'm left being constantly reminded and expecting Things.

There's only so many times you can hear, "we can't wait for you to see this!" before it just becomes frustrating.
One day, the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see. -Sandal Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a world to save. Again. -Inquisitor
That has proven to be more than enough for them for the time being. Half that time they've spent trying to NOT be in the news.
Their parent company's subsidiary (Zenimax Online) is doing fine tho. They've just released yet another big yearly expansion to their MMO (ESO) - Greymoor, which is basically bigger Skyrim: Dawnguard. Despite pandemic messing with smooth release more than usual, I don't think there was much controversy stirred anywhere.

They're just trying to keep DA alive in people's minds. Right now it's all they can do. It could be 2 years before we get an official announcement. It's gonna be a long haul in any case, and right now I'm happy enough to hear there's been some positive progress lately.

I'm not letting myself expect anything. So I say nothing.

And hey, it's the Twitter Thread - expect Tweets!
Plus I mean they probably want to talk about it because they are excited. They want to talk about it. Why I don't tend to get too upset, it must be just as excrutiating for them..in a way...to not actually share things with us as it is for us to actually not get any information.

I suppose one of the good things about live services in games is you don't get these situations where people have completely finished a game 10 years ago and are waiting for the next installment. I guess with the live services they can get people playing continuously longer making the wait for the next installment less excruciating and with the increased development times of games, they can provide smaller continuous content for years and years keeping the community satisfied.
I'm coming around to live services for AAA games I must admit
Imperator Furiåsa @devilkitten I might have had a bit of a breakdown this weekend. I was thinking about character creators and what descriptive texts we write when selecting class, faction and then... gender. What the heck do we write when it comes to gender? So I gave it a shot ->
- She might just be talking about CCs in general, but "faction" caught my eye.

Maybe a potential return to the "Origin" stories from DA:O, or something less - in your face - like the combat history background option from ME1? (asking rhetorically, not looking for an answer)

Imperator Furiåsa @devilkitten Yes, well. The thoughts were unrelated to work in a way, because I was doing a character in another game, but yeah. We could.
- Another game then...
... unless they're trying to throw us off the trail.

Bio devs must have taken a chirping course. Most of the time it's just meaningless noise and I discard it as such. If EA Play shows no DA4 trailer then I expect at least one more year of Bio chirping. Thankfully I can tune it out.
