It also tells us why DLC is as expensive as it is. By the time it's released, the engaged player base has shrunk a lot. And also why many of them are built as economically as possible, often reusing existing assets or whole locations. We often hear how meaty DLC is "not profitable" or as profitable as they'd like. That's also one of the reasons given for the shift towards smaller "Live Service" updates now (or combination of the two). Enchantment! Engagement! Meatier DLC still gets made though, so it still must be profitable enough for some studios. AC:OD for example keeps their players on the hook with their LS dailies/weeklies/mini-DLC, then drop the bigger DLC. It'd be interesting to know how many stuck around to play the Atlantis DLC. IIRC, their engagement rates were quite high. Hell, they kept me on the hook for ages... I think they did themselves a huge favor with the season's pass sales. A bundle deal that's cheaper than buying each major DLC separately is a pretty attractive offer - and players who have already made that investment are more apt to stick around. Of course, it's also kind of risky in that Ubi was obligated to deliver even if the sales and engagement had underperformed. You can't cancel DLC that players have already paid for.

This is a character with many possibilities that Bio writers can exploit. A missed opportunity in DA:I, imo.
I would love a cutscenes with Sandal and Cole having the most obscure conversation. It would be perfect for a trailer that told us nothing at all that makes sense until you are 87 percent of the way through the actual game.

I seldom regret buying a game (because I'm usually very picky about what I buy) and until KCD, I'd never regretted one that I purchased on discount. Realistic? Maybe. But it certainly cemented my opinion that realism does not equal 'fun'.

But it certainly cemented my opinion that realism does not equal 'fun'. I found a major issue I had with KCD, that I fixed with mods, was the feel of the UI. It made you feel sluggish with its stone slab sound effect every time you opened it. This may sound silly, but I found it legitimately improved my experience with the game when I modded it to a more journal looking UI with paper sound effects.
Also, once I actually got better with archery, I liked it a lot, too. But you can't till you get thru the prologue, so I can see why people would drop it early in. Also, I focused on a sneaky Henry who avoided combat when possible, so that can also effect things. lol
Combat itself was hit or miss. ... no pun intended. I didn't like that it relied on where you moved the mouse. Stealth kills were fun, though.
