On the list of strongest characters I would flip Anders and Wynne...and honestly make the Architect eight and him ten as well.
I would agree with the assessment over Anders and Wynne. Of course the compilers have justified Wynne by saying she can control her possession but then I would argue strenuously that so can Anders (it all depends whether you friend or rivalry him how that is perceived) but in any case that doesn't have any bearing on actual power. Plus the Warden can kill Wynne. (Although that is true of a number of these characters).
So if the Warden (and companions) can "kill" Flemeth, the Architect and Wynne, even if it isn't permanent, doesn't that qualify them for the list? It seems odd that Hawke is included and yet someone who could potentially have slain the Arch-demon, the Mother and the Architect is not.
Also, what about Feynriel? Okay so he can be made tranquil or even possessed but as I say several of these "powerful" individuals can be killed by our PC, so that doesn't discount him. If Feynriel is sent to Tevinter he ends up capable of controlling the thoughts of a bunch of rapists back in the south and saving a girl he apparently has romantic attachment to. That is on a par with what the ancient elven dreamers could do. If he is possessed and becomes a Dreamstalker, Marethari says that he would be nigh on unstoppable. To be honest, I'd put him pretty high up the list, probably only behind Solas and Flemeth.

On the HOF its toug because I certainly can appreciate him being on the list because of the Darkspawn taint making him a super soldier...as such...but really I think I would be hard pressed to include him on this list, and in a hig position, unless I remove Francesca since I have no experience with her. And I do not think he should be higher then Hawke, I mean I know that is certainly VERY debatable but still...so for instance my list would probably go HOF, Anders, Hawk, Architect or something along those lines.
As far as Feynriel...probably because we have not seen his abilities on screen as it were? Though even then the more I think about it the more I think it likely they just forgot about him but...well for reasons I find it hard to quantify his power, and again on screen prescence being the biggest one.

I get the reasoning of placing the Inquisitor, with the Anchor, so high on the list, but I don’t agree with many other choices made there. The Architect should be ranked much higher. Not considering Francesca, which I know little about, he should ranked in the top 4, between those characters. And I’d argue that Morrigan, from what was seen, shouldn’t be ranked that high. I’d have ranked her high, if she canonically drank from the Well, and with the possibility of her inheriting some of Flemeth’s powers.
On Hawke being on the list, and the HoF not, yeah, I don’t get it, and don’t get why the former should be higher then the latter. Their powers are overall normal and similar (being a Warden definitely makes you better in fighting darkspawn, but you don’t gain some godly power like with the Anchor). In terms of feats, I don’t see what Hawke did that would rank him higher then the Warden. I think the decision to rank him in the top 10 is because of their assessment on the other two protagonists being ‘destined’ to shape the world, which, to be honest, seems to me like the author completely missed the point. The Warden wasn’t destined for anything. Like Hawke, it was pure luck that they were chosen by Duncan to go to the tower. Flemeth would’ve taken any Warden that she could save, because she knew how dangerous the Blight was and/or wanted to find a way to take Urthemiel’s soul. If Randy McWarden was at the tower, she’d have taken him. The same goes for Hawke’s being saved by her (although I’d argue that the initial dialogue with her did imply that Hawke was special).
The Inquisitor was also ‘lucky’ in how they got their special powers. The game makes it clear when they reveal how they got their powers, that it was just luck. The fact that people in Thedas might believe they’re a Chosen One of doesn’t make it right.
Overall, I wouldn’t either Hawke or the Warden (or the Inquisitor post-Tresspasser) on the this list. They feats are indeed legendary, but they won’t have any special powers that make them so great. If we would count their feats, then they should all be easily higher then any character that aren’t Flemeth, Solas and Corypheus with the Orb.

Though even then the more I think about it the more I think it likely they just forgot about him but...well for reasons I find it hard to quantify his power, and again on screen prescence being the biggest one.
And yet they include someone only found in the comics. This is why I find this list extremely suspect. Also how do you evaluate the power? Natural ability? In which case you can cross the Inquisitor straight off the list because without their magical doodad and their organisation, they are just a regular hero. All our PCs tend to benefit from the team around them. I know there is the occasion player who likes to solo it but on the whole battles are won because of the team. Even Hawke doesn't necessarily defeat the Arishok single handed depending on your choices. In fact if you hand Isabella over to him Hawke doesn't defeat him at all. To my mind none of the PC heroes should be included on the list.
As for mages, I think Dorian is at least the equal of Francesca. His knowledge is far more extensive than hers and the reason we may not have seen the true extent of his power is that his greatest fear is temptation (of abusing it). Whilst Francesca is able to reproduce Dalish nature magic without being Dalish that doesn't necessarily mean that what she can do is greater than say Merrill or Velanna? Could they not fight Fenris to a standstill? After all the characters in the comics aren't limited by game mechanics over what they can do. Characters there often seem to do things that far exceed what would be possible in game. If you are going to include Francesca what about Maevaris?
So I think that any list should only compare characters on an equal footing and any character that has only shown their abilities up to now in comics or novels should not be included.
To be honest I do find all lists very subjective and tend to just amount to who are the person's favourite characters (or not) rather than being a true assessment of their merits.

A Rick Roll? He's a fan of the classics, that Darrah.
Video preview stabbed him in the back, though. lol
EDIT:
So I just looked at his twitter and this is his profile pic:
And I can't.
Let’s be honest...they knew exactly what they were unleashing when they included that model in the video.

Of course they did. They could’ve shown dozens of other facial expression as an example. It was obvious that expression would’ve generated lots of memes.

Gabe Heiland @norseartemis Jory's got this, absolutely no reason I took his armor and the good sword away
Inquisitor Meg @ mabari_Throne I always strip down the recruits who are gonna die. That is some valuable coin I need on the front end of the game
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Solas: Here’s my orb. Corypheus: YOUR orb? Solas: By which I mean the orb of Fen’harel, the ancient elven god, which I found. So you can unlock it. I’ll just be over here. Oh, also, one thing? Corypheus: What? Solas: Only unlocks if you’re naked. Here, I’ll hold your gear.
Inquisitor Meg @ mabari_Throne That's canon, right?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes As much as the deleted scene where Solas begs you to strip off all your gear before fighting Corypheus, because who knows how the orb might react to your magical equipment, and it’s best to be safe.
On the XBox version at least, all of Jory and Daveth’s gear gets deposited in your inventory automatically, so there’s no need for the naked Joining. (That just sounds wrong.)

it's the same on pc...at least if you have mods that fix it

It is not a mod thing, vanilla DAO also does it. Sometimes it depends for similar situations though. For the Dalish Origin, Tamlen's stuff is lost. Even more funny for Magi OS, as one usually gets to keep Jowan's and Lily's stuff. Should you rat them out to Irving though and confess it during the conversation about the phylactery, they both storm off and keep their gear if I recall right.
