Gabe Heiland @norseartemis A thing I like about my job is how many of our chats devolve into how much we want to romance the tree. Or cloak. Or vague shadow. Or that one joke character someone just made up to prove a point. Or that bit character from 3 games ago that may not even have a full name.
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby Lord Trifles Minutia is still waiting, Gabe. In your closet in Skyhold. Making wind noises.
Gabe Heiland @norseartemis but can I romance the WIND NOISES?!?
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby You CAN, but we'll have to cut the romance with THE GIANT SPOON. Budgets.
Gabe Heiland @norseartemis ahjeeze, gonna have to run some user preference tests on Giant Spoons vs Wind Noises
John Epler @eplerjc Our fans are more interested in forking, anyways.

Is "THE GIANT SPOON" a "pet" name for EA?
Is EA looking to cut out more than multiplayer?
John Epler @eplerjc: Having been in this industry for a while, one thing has proven out, time and time again. Success belongs to the team, and failure belongs to leadership. No game is a one-person show, or even close.

John Epler @eplerjc For all of the awfulness, one thing about 2020 that still brings me joy is seeing my name in a real book. I wrote two things that other people can read!
Andarateia Cantori andarateia Happy 10th Birthday, Dragon Age II! Partying face
DA2 is well-loved for its character-driven plot and diverse cast of lovable companions. What is your favorite thing about Dragon Age II? Or tell me about your Hawke in the comments Downwards arrow
Thank you @bioware for making such wonderful memories!
Matthew Goldman @sergoldman 10 years already? Thank you andarateia
That was a fun project - like an extremely long game jam.
Varric and Cassandra Great Villains and Boss Monsters There's lots I like
International Game Developers Association (IGDA) @igda Our next #IWD2021 highlight is Karin Weekes (@karinweekes) - she just passed her 15 year service mark as an editor at @bioware, having worked on many games such as Dragon Age (Origins, 2, Inquisition), Mass Effect (2, 3, Andromeda), and more!
Sanshee @teamsanshee A new and mysterious nug has made an appearance in our shop! We've never seen anything like it... Click the link to bring one home before they disappear!
Liana Ruppert @dirtyeffinhippy Hi, yes, hello, this is the hill I'm willing to die on, thanks for asking Waving hand
This game was MAGICAL and for the characters to shine as much as they did despite the story being so short is a true testament to the talent this team had even when time itself was working against them.
I must say I enjoy and appreciate the game a lot more today than I did 10 years ago. It's something I've thought a lot about since my last full-franchise PT ended a few months ago and I've come up with a few explanations for why the game has risen in my opinion.
1. The release of DAI alleviated some concerns I had about the direction of the franchise following DA2 by returning to multiple playable races and varied environments
2. The smaller, more personal story now serves as a welcome contrast to the more epic scale of DAO and DAI
3. My first PT was diplomatic Hawke and it wasn't until a PT years later when I discovered the joy of sarcastic Hawke
4. The banter is fun and occurs frequently with a lot of trigger points you hit naturally (really appreciated after DAI)
5. Most quests have a solid story component and often have reactions from one or more companions
6. Even the more mundane/repetitive quests usually have some fun lines of dialogue that poke fun at the situation
7. The friendship/rivalry system, while certainly not perfect, offers a unique experience from the other games
8. Although there's a lack of companion customization, it is sort of nice to not have to do so much inventory management sometimes
9. The player-sexual romances mean everyone is available regardless of gender (although they have their downsides too)
10. The fast-paced combat has grown on me and I prefer it over DAI combat (still like DAO the best)
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby Wow, it's the tenth anniversary of DA2's launch? I don't have an impossibly-broken flowchart for this one. But I will celebrate by raising a glass for the Pirates-versus-Qunari-versus-Zombie-plague plot I never got to write for the expansion.
Aimee H Rainbow flag @aimemerights Mary, you're killing me.
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby I mean, its primary feature was going to be giving Isabela an EXTREMELY fancy hat. Also, I guess a fleet of some kind.
Ringo Law: η§γ―ζγεΊγ«γ―γͺγγͺγγ @rinjirenee ANOTHER thing about this expansion that I would have loved?!1111111
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby Someday, somehow, I will get a boss fight on the deck of a burning Qunari dreadnought. Someday...
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes (takes notes furiously)
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby I THINK I STILL HAVE ONE OF THE POWERPOINTS FOR THE PITCH SOMEWHERE, I CAN JUST EMAIL IT TO YOU.
Dragon Age 2 celebrates 10 years today and as each year passes, more players are starting to see the magic of the sequel buried beneath rushed development
This game had some of the best character development, here's why you should give it a second chance
Oh. So it's another shill article giving "The Last Jedi is actually good" defense. If you need to defend a game, 10 years after release, it must have been really bad, to need defending still.
I've written my share, thank you very much. It takes one to know one.
When I die, I want Bioware to carry my casket, so they can let me down, one last time.
