The Deep Roads come to mind. That was my initial reaction too but there have been hints in both Calpernia's short story and Tevinter Nights that there is something underneath Minrathous, which might be a monster at the centre of a labyrinth (think Minotaur). WoT certainly says that it is famous for its catacombs that were carved beneath the island and capable of storing enough food to feed the city for a year. Considering a million people live in Minrathous, that has to be a pretty big network. The other possibility is the Grand Necropolis. That was also described in Tevinter Nights as having several levels and various halls and chambers that "are not always in the same place at the same time", which would make navigating it a challenge and would resemble a constantly shifting labyrinth. There has also been a fair bit of focus on the activities of the Mortalitasi in that book and a later short story, which might hint that is going to be one of the locations we will be visiting next game.

Didn't they have some kinda labyrinth like places in DA2's dlc? So the treacherous labyrinths of DAD could simply be an extension of that. However, see my comment above about the Grand Necropolis. Finding your way round that would be both confusing and perilous, based on what they have revealed about it up to now. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a major location in DAD.

I'm not sure if this has been talked about before, but on the Dragon age web page, it has a brief description 'Enter Thedas, a vibrant world of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities. ' Have we seem labyrinths in the games before? I wonder what that means for gameplay? I may be overanalysing, but it's interesting that is highlighted along with wilderness and cities, possibly meaning they'll play a bigger roll in the game's environments. Might be referring to the Grand Necropolis, with its changing layouts. Gameplay-wise, it sounds like players might have to navigate randomly created/shifting dungeon layouts to their objective.

Could also just be marketing speak. Divorced from its mythological roots, labyrinth is basically a synonym for maze; I mean, the Winter Palace felt pretty labyrinthine at times.
It doesn’t necessarily have to refer to a specific structure prowled by a hungry minotaur or a horny David Bowie in tights.

Another 'labyrinthine' location visited in-game is the eluvian network. Especially considering you may not have any idea where you actually are when you come out the other side.

David Bowie tribute character confirmed For DADwolf! Oh if only this were true! Please let it be true. David Bowie was such a multi-talented person and cultural icon, it would be amazing if they had a character based on him. His emergence as a star coincided with my teenage years, so it would be very nostalgic for me.

It seems we really have to wait until game awards for anything DA related huh. It's been so looong since any real info about this game Yeah, seems very likely. Always the possibility of a random drop, but the Game Awards lines up so nicely with DA Day and Absolution premiere that month, it makes a lot of sense to show something there. I do think we will get something because they have continued to say we would hear more about the game later this year, even after the title announcement. Comparing where we in the timeline to a couple other games I'm following... Hogwarts Legacy had their big gameplay reveal in March 2022 when timeline was "Holiday 2022", so maybe 8-9 months out from expectated release date. New releaase date is Feb 2023 so about 11 months out from that. Starfield had their big gameplay reveal in June 2022 when timeline was 1st Half 2023 (already had been moved from Nov 2022). That's really vague but say 7-12 months out from expected release date. DAD is a bit harder to pin down because they've still never given us officially any kind of release window. That's all coming from insiders. IF (big if) DA is still on pace for release in late 2023, we are about 1 year to 1y4m out. By the time the Game Awards roll around, that would be about 9-12 months out. So it definitely could time out well for us to get our first look at gameplay and probably a release window of some kind. I don't think it would be anything on the scale of HL or Starfield reveals though as those had more dedicated events. But maybe some kind of cinematic with a bit of gameplay and a look at some of the characters or protagonist. In any case, if they can stay on this schedule we are fast approaching the time when we could start getting significant reveals.

I'm hoping that if DA:D does make an appearance at the GAs (and yeah, I expect it will), that they keep it to a cinematic and hold off on showing gameplay until closer to launch (eg. EA Play). I don't think it's ever worked out well for BW showing off "gameplay" a full year out from launch. These vertical slices tend to be overambitious and set unrealistically high expectations that the final games can't live up to. Personally, I'd prefer to skip that drama this time 'round...

We need to get back at them. How about an algorithm that every time it reads text with DAD in it, it replaces it with DUD I sincerely believe that DAD is an obvious in-joke with all of us and the devs. The entire series, and possibly most of BioWare's work in general, is about Daddy issues. We know this, they know this. In that regard, I take it with a grin, but a knowing one. Just because it's in the title, don't take another layup in the writing department. I have Daddy issues too. My main one is I can't forget the bastard, and constantly blaming someone else for your own adult issues is understandable but not acceptable. We must grow. That said, I fully expect at least one quest that nearly smashes the 4th wall concerning this joke, and it will be good. Maybe better than the rest of the game? Graben - Roger the Biower issues. But, what in the hell is “the 4th wall concerning this joke”? or do I need to get off the potato truck…

That's definitely reasonable. I'd be perfectly happy with a cinematic trailer, provided it starts to give us new info. We don't really know yet for Hogwarts Legacy or Starfield whether they showed things too early and the actual games could end up being scaled back or missing features that we saw. They also showed quite extended looks for both of those and the Game Awards isn't really the right venue for that - EA Play would fit a lot better if they have one next year.

But, what in the hell is “the 4th wall concerning this joke”? or do I need to get off the potato truck… You are familiar with the concept of the "4th wall"? If not, quick summary - when the movie actor, say Deadpool, looks at the camera and talks directly to us, ignoring the fact that he's in a movie and we are not in the movie, that is the "4th wall" being broken. The other walls being ones we normally see and hear and feel, that allow us to be immersed and "get into" the entertainment product, whether it be book show vidya etc. If you already knew this and are still shaking your head, well I'm no comedian. But I can see Morrigan staring at my soul making a 4th wall Dad joke after some event with Solas or someone's Dad or your own Dad. That's left to better jokers than me. Hope this explains what I was thinking!

It does feel like another dry spell after the great high of the game's title reveal. Did we just get the title reveal so there would be no confusion with the anime? Who knows
