She's bland. As a supporting character she was fine but I don't get the love. I'd rather get Sigrun or Bianca. I'm adding "Bianca as a companion" to the growing list of things that would make me refuse to buy or play this game.

I'd only want Bianca as a companion on the condition that it causes drama with the Merchants' Guild and we get to kill a lot of them, or all of them. I'm not really picky at this point.

It wouldn't be prohibitive to make a Harding romance depend on the Keep, would it? Add her to the Inquisitor romance lists, and lock her romance track out if the player selected such a world-state. Of course it would. If this the case we would never get a full Harding romance. I can unterstand if this sounds a bit selfish but Bioware Games don´t work that way. Yes you can big decisions but most of time the difference between them is often dialogue or another character. But that isn´t major for the Base Game. If we really want Harding as full companion and romance in DA 4 with a lot of screentime especially in her romance scenes it would be critical if Bioware have to respect this Keep tile. When Bioware have to shorten Hardings content. Hypothetical it would be possible but it is very unlikely because of resources and time concerns. The reverse conclusion is that Bioware have never made a former romance to a new one. Even if you didn´t pick this option in the first time. Or why is Leliana not romancable in Inquisition. It's not clear how this argument works It's not clear how this argument works. Unless you're saying that Bio is likely to be dumb about this because they've been dumb in the past.

I liked harding and would love having her as a proper companion and romance option, however there are some good points made against her. I hope she'll at least make an appearance, though.
Personally, I would be just as happy having dagna take her place as a companion and romance option.

Personally, I would be just as happy having dagna take her place as a companion and romance option. Dagna gets canonically paired off with Sera if you don't romance her*. It's mentioned in Sera's journal and they even get a Trespasser slide. I doubt that will change.
Aside from that, having someone like her as a follower would be interesting, especially if they can give her a unique skill set that doesn't revolve around traditional combat and weapons.
* Which would be the majority of plays, as that accounts for all male Inquisitors as well as those female ones that don't romancer her.

Unless you don't recruit her - huh...has anyone ever NOT recruited Dagna?

Unless you don't recruit her - huh...has anyone ever NOT recruited Dagna? Considering the player would be gimping themselves for runes and such, I'd say that number is likely extremely low, less than 1% even.

Dagna isn't required to put runes in weapons, or to make them. She is only required for Masterworks. It's quite possible to play the game without crafting anything too.

Dagna and Sera also don't get together if Sera isn't in the Inquisition right? Whether you never recruit her or you kick her out later?

Yeeeaah, I doubt Dagna is going to come back as a romanceable character given the focus on the other redheaded dwarf in the vanilla game, JoH, and Trespasser. And also her potential relationship with Sera. Not that I dislike the idea of an adorable lesbian/bisexual dwarf LI whose hobbies include breaking the Stone ceiling and lighting people on fire.

Just out of curiosity, just what about Harding do you not like? I don’t dislike her. Overall I was felt meh to the character. Fair enough. While I can see why some people prefer relatively stable characters like Harding over more *dramatic * Dragon Age Companions, it's been my experience that they have less opportunity for character and plot development. Especially in CRPGs, where characters can end up with completely divergent paths and personalities.
Honestly, I think one of the biggest factors in Lace's popularity is that Dwarf fans are so desperate for a romancable Dwarf that at this point they'll take anyone who looks plausible, if not actually interesting.

It's not that, after all most of my favorite Bioware romances are the stable or "boring" characters as others call them. It's just there was nothing that really clicked with me with Harding.

I think Dagna is interesting enough, but we know her whole story. We were the Warden that set her on her path to get involved in magic, and then we worked with and talked to her "a lot" for an NPC as the Inquisitor.
Lace Harding seems neat: down to earth, nice, curious, but not insanely so. But then I remember she and Charter are being groomed to replace Leliana and the mild attraction I have for her kinda deflates. Who wants to be Leliana that has their head on straight?

Being able to romance a Crossbow would reach a rather niche audience. As an aside; I would only endorse her showing up long enough to brutally murder the b-tch.
In regards to Harding-nah, she would be a waste of a slot. Someone new would be best. I maintain that no repeating character should show up on the roster if they've already been in an important enough role to show up regularly-which is why I hate people whining to have Cullen, or Isabella, or any of the others come back as a companion even though they were already available as a companion and romance option.
There are only two people who ought to put in an appearance in DA4; Dorian and Fenris. No-one else. Even Solas should be laying low until DA5 or DA6 and continue working through his agents like he had been before Inquisition took place. Hints of Solas' followers being active in the area, sure, the inquisitions spies? Sure. But no more than that.
Although, not going to lie, I really, really want Maevaris to be a companion and romantic interest. Long shot I know but I am genuinely curious about her and her backstory outside of her being in a relationship with a dwarf and getting even with his assassin. Now that is an interesting character.

Besides, her and Sera's bony ass are too busy with each other to play arm candy with the next MC. If you don't romance her, Sera ends up with Dagna, not Harding.
