I selected all the "I'm a guy" options. For me race & gender isn't an option, it's about the quality of the story being told.

I'm a lady and selected all the "I'm a lady" options. Story matters most to me, although I think it would be especially great to have a male/female dwarf, male/female Qunari, and another male elf romance.

This is pretty much me. I'm assuming the "I" in "I'm a...." is referring to the player and not the PC the player is playing? Yes, refers to the player rather than their character, 'cause I'm trying to get a feel for what each demographic likes. Sorry i haven't read all. But that make no sense. person female PC femal romance male = femal romance male but the same for. Person femal PC male romance male = femal romance male But that is a gay romance.

Considering DA4 is probably set in Tevinter, we could end up with an inner circle (advisor/companion) who prefers humans and dwarves because of how Tevinter society privileges human mages and dwarves over everyone else. Still, that probably wouldn't be the same, since then people would just play humans. Maybe it could be a character who wants upward social mobility without the possibility for magic, then? Or the dwarf!pc is the only player character with a background where the character vaguely knows them and they'll only romance people they have a history with. I'm trying to think of a reason besides the obvious ones a character would only be interested in dwarves. Honestly, a character with race preference is just icky. Smacks of real world racism. Cullen and Solas, we were promised their race-locking would "make sense" but it didn't and was never explained in game. Some could say "Solas is only interested in other elves" but he never says that, nor is it backed up by story. Solas doesn't fall in love with Lavellan because they're elf; he literally tells them they're different from all the other dumb elves of their era; they're "special." Race-locking is stupid and just an excuse by the devs to shove in romance that locks out certain players. I like it very much. It would make no sense, because Solas don't want to love. He has his plan and the only thing he is interested is saving his people. So he only look at you when you from his people. Why musst he tell you this it is written so clearly in his story. And Cullen are afraid of love he knew only war, so loving all would make no sense at all. That he likes elves about dwarves and qunaris is a matter of taste. I would like to see more of locked romance i don't like DA2 and his all are bi decision.
Anders should be gay and merrill should be lesbian.

I am a female. But my selaction is the gender of my PC. I have romanced DAO Alistair and DAI Cullen and Dorian. I thought of romancing blackwall but in the End it doesn't work. I played in Origions more elf than human and in Inquision only human because of the look of the elf (different theme). I have selected femal/ male elf, human and dwarf (because of Varric). male/female elf and human and male/male elf and human. I have no problem with any height but i don't like bearded. And I cannot make friends with the Qunari. The Qun is awful and the behavior of the Qunari we know is to brutally. I am deffently more a Cullen person but Dorian have carisma and charme. A new race would be Cool elf and dwarf are the opposite. I like to see a race opposite to the Qunari. Spirit and human are opposite i think. So please a soft and wise race diplomatic and kind.

I think a new one would be distinct enough. I prefer (very) nonhuman LIs, but my canon Hawke went for Isabela and my possibly-canon Inquisitor went for Dorian, because their personalities meshed the best. Because humans are ridiculously overrepresented, there’s less of a chance that past PCs will have clicked with a nonhuman. I might suggest you or someone else make it, though, only 'cause I fear I'm developing a reputation for posting romance polls and threads. Plus you can add those sexy, sexy sylvans! I'm sad Anders and Zev didn't do too well. My ranking of just m/m, since that's all I play, would be: Anders Zev Dorian Fenris Iron Bull I don't think they did too bad; if you look at my final summary you'll see that Anders at least is the third most popular m/m love interest, after Dorian and Fenris. Very interesting data so far. So, I could not help doing some simple statistic and calculating the coefficient of variation(CV) based on race for each gender pair (PC and LI). In human words, the numbers below essentially show how much race matters for each m/m, m/f, and so (0 means race does not matter at all, 1 mean race absolutely matters). PC/LI pair | CV | m/m | 0.20 | m/f | 0.28 | f/f | 0.09 | f/m | 0.26 |
Please take these as a grain of salt since the sampling size is small. It looks like f/f does not have strong preference about races while m/f has the strongest preference. I'd have thought m/m would have the strongest preference since we did have some varied responses in the romance thread. Nice! Thanks for that. Why is data so interesting?! I think it's funny that humans are leading the pack for men and elves are leading the pack for women, regardless of sexuality lol. I hope you don't mind, i have made a poll a bit different than this and i splitt it in 4 parts.
