News like this can go straight to the ME Twitter Thread - which is essentially the ME General News Thread. I have at least some of that news (regarding the races for MEA) there already.

Well - It looks like they wanted the next Mass Effect to be a budget title (budget for them, not for us). Just imagine what Andromeda could have been if they got a full budget and it was developed by a experienced crew. It would have been a real worthy successor to the ME trilogy.
But noooo - They had to work wit a small budget and all newcomers without much experience. It's a miracle ME:A turned out to be a playable game at all. Of course all the budget and expertise has dropped into that abomination called Anthem, and as a result they now have two defunct titles.
I was still angry about what they did to ME:A, and I am even more furious now. I also am afraid they will go back to the oh so safe "Milky Way" route with Zombie Shepard (I hate zombie games where zombies come back again and again, no matter how many times you kill them). It's like they opened the window to shiny progress, only to slam it shut tight into your face before you can get a good look.
Anyway - It's a nice view into the cause of that shallow and almost sabotaged development of Andromeda. It gives me not much hope for a bright and new future of the ME series. I am afraid that "future" will only turn out to be a rumination.

Yet another example of why consumers no longer trust gaming companies when they market their games: It was clearly a CGI trailer for a mobile game. While it provided the general idea of the setting (swords a& magic), it seems odd to me that anyone would think that it was made in-engine or accurately represented the gameplay.

It clearly misrepresents the product and is therefore misleading. Have you been in coma for the last 20 years? Answer me three questions: 1 - Can you show me the trailer to a movie where the graphics in the trailer does not represent the graphics in the movie. Animated is fine. 2 - Can you show me the trailer to a television series where the graphics in the trailer does not represent the graphics in the television series. Animated is fine. 3 - Can you show me advertising for a novel where what is depicted in the advertisement is not representative of what's in the novel. Video Games is the only media where such bullshit occurs and I for one am sick of it.

Animated is fine. 2 - Can you show me the trailer to a television series where the graphics in the trailer does not represent the graphics in the television series. Movies arent videogames, so comparing 'graphics' in movies to graphics in videogames is wrong. 3 - Can you show me advertising for a novel where what is depicted in the advertisement is not representative of what's in the novel. And here you are talking about being representative of novel in general not just its 'graphics' so what representation are you talking about? But if you want an example then every fancy book cover of every Sci-Fi or fantasy novel ever is not representative of its content. In general, the purpose of advertisement is not to be representative of product but to inform potential customer of the product and make him/her interested in it enough to investigate further or buy it. Making materials that are representative of product's qualities is one way but not the only. Here is a trailer of 'Alien' movie, try to tell us what this movie is about other than it is a sc-fi horror movie set in space: Here is a trailer for 'Mandalorian', very informative, right?: And lastly, not movies or video games but what the hell does this tells us about a product they sell?:

Video Games is the only media where such bullshit occurs and I for one am sick of it. I'm not disagreeing with you that it's sketchy to advertise things in that way, but it isn't hard to come up with examples of what you're asking for. As far as movies go, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Toys!, It Comes At Night, The Grey and the Cabin in The Woods all infamously misrepresented the films in their trailers (although people were generally okay with it in those cases.) I can remember Toys! and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' trailers both used footage that never appears in the final film, which happens fairly often. By contrast, trailers for movies like Terminator 2 were so honest that they spoiled the movies they were for. It's a tricky line to walk, because T2 would have worked a lot better if people didn't know that Arnie was the good guy during the entire opening act.

Video Games is the only media where such bullshit occurs and I for one am sick of it. Well instead of just using "graphics" because what they use for those trailers is generally what they are using in the final product so lets go a little more general with deceiving. Video games are expected to have trailers years before release heck look at all the people whining they aren't seeing more of Dragon Age or Mass Effect and they don't even have release dates. I don't watch a lot of movies, but I know I felt like I wasted my money going to see Crimson Peak in theaters, I was expecting a horror movie, but instead got some romance style movie instead. How about the Avengers television spot with The Hulk where they added him into that scene digitally or when they digitally remove characters from scenes as well. There are probably a lot of trailers where people felt that what the trailer was trying to sell them was different then the final product. Its probably the same with television, but I stopped watching scripted television regularly years ago.

This isn't "news" per say, but it is... something worth noting.
I've been having "Medium" advertised to me almost non-stop for a couple of months. The ads all list it as as being available for Xbox One. If I go into my various licenses, they all list "Medium" as available for download, but with a prominent button suggesting I buy it for the listed price.
The problem is "Medium" is not available for Xbox One. As in literally it isn't allowed to be downloaded. The button allows you to buy the game, but you aren't permitted to download it because it isn't available for that system. Which is... super sketchy.
I didn't buy it (I had planned to "try it" based on the Gamepass license) so I was spared the error because on the final screen where I'd commit was a little red warning that said it wasn't actually available for the Xbox One. But it was little. Red, yes, but quite small compared to the "buy this!" button two screens earlier.
I mean, caveat emptor and all that, but letting people buy a new game on a system that doesn't support it is... I mean that's predatory, pretty clearly. :p
