I've been seeing a lot of buzz about NFTs lately. Interesting in light of the "gambling" thing because they would very likely qualify if they were obtained with gacha mechanics.
For playstation players. If you haven't played Horizon Zero Dawn, but would like to, you can download it for free on psn.

They will have to work hard on their app if they want players to move there from Steam.
The PC Xbox app isn't very use friendly. The worst of all the ones I have installed (Origin, Steam, Uplay, GOG Galaxy...and half of those have changed name now I think, lol).
I wonder how much talent Activision has lost over the years because they have so many of their studios working on the Call of Duty franchise? To me this is the same as hearing that EA is closing another studio and relocating as much of its staff as possible to other EA studios. Unfortunately it won't get the same level of coverage because people aren't interested in the slow cannibalization of Activision studios.

There's plenty of media reporting this though? Not only tons of media but oh look, a generic and outrage-y Yongyea video is already up about it despite the news being less than 24 hours old? I'm kinda not sure what else you wanted?

I didn't say it wouldn't get coverage, just that it won't get the same level. Half of the places I visit semi-regularly don't have anything on this and the same places had multiple articles on Visceral being closed within 24 hours from reporting on the closure, speculation of what happened, or editorials giving their personal opinions on the subject.

I read this and immediately had one thought -
Did these devs sign a contract? Did they read it thoroughly?
I will say that some positions in game software development aren't differentiated much by the type of game they are working on, so some people are probably shiftable and it shouldn't matter to them what game they're working on since these jobs are more mechanical in nature.
They need a union. I don't do work that is outside of my specialization. Although this doesn't ensure I don't end up doing a job I don't love, it does make sure that I am only used in a way I agree to be used.
If they had a proper contract, they could tell Activision to a) Fuck Off. Sweeten the deal, or Fuck Off. or c) ~crickets~
This is pretty interesting! For folks who are game devs or want to become them, an anonymous list of salaries earned by folks with different game dev jobs in different locations. Also interesting for non-devs (like me) because I know some fans don't really understand how much devs are actually paid.

The list doesn't mention cost of living (salary are higher where it cost more to live in general) and don't just look at the number, but also the years of experience. It also not ordered, there are multiple section with Animators for example.
There are some entries that are very "WTF" in comparison with the people in the same job as them...
Being seeing some nice Starfield "leaks". So far Screenrant has the most of those I've seen. I haven't watched any videos posted online. Supposedly we're going to be getting it before the end of 2021. I guess it's possible. It's not like we have a clear picture of how long and what work was being done on Starfield in the meantime to say otherwise. Bethesda's been keeping it tightly locked for a while now. At least better than I could find out. Anyone else got anything?
When I die, I want Bioware to carry my casket, so they can let me down, one last time.

I personally have zero interest in a zombie game, but I feel obliged to get it to support Sony games on PC...but I really don't want to throw $50 bucks at it...
I’m surprised that desiccated cow GTA V can still produce milk for Rockstar. They’re bringing it forward to PS5 and XBox SX. By the time those greedmongers announce GTA 6, we’ll have people griefing everyone with Oppressors IRL.
