Star Wars: The Old Republic Discussion

Well, I have not subbed in a while, but when I got back in the game on the preferred status, even though I did buy the unlock, I found my characters dropped all the augments from their shells into their inventory (I guess, I should have used the unlock before the sub expired?). Which means that the entire allocation of credits (350 thou) would have went into re-inserting the augments back in. And, despite unlocking the quick-bar, it did not keep my keybinds, because well, it was on the 6th bar, not the 5th that got unlocked.

Which is completely pointless anyway, because to restart playing there is no option now but to sub, so yeah, sure, then the bars and the augments won't be a problem. But regrinding all the gear sets? Per character, not per alt, b/c now you cannot transfer comms and buy stuff for the alts...

In other words, SWTOR is now worse than the free RNG grinders as a play option. It's got no story for your characters, but one Story, and about the only original thing left there is the setting and a trillion NPCs. Gearing is now RNG, there is no PvP gear left and gear rulez in PvP from now on, the levels become the grind with that premium levels going up to 100 (same BS as hongmoon levels) and alt-fest is done for.

And, it is a strict P2P.

Basically, they took what they could from the grinding games, and dismantled their gearing and alting bonanza model.

All and all, I get more mileage out of the ME3 atm, and I would like to find more games like that, with easy gearing, no grind, and some sort of fun MP component that has easy difficulty setting. MMOs are just too much efforts for very little fun, b/c of gearing and daily time investment into boring stuff to keep up with gear to maybe, just maybe do something fun. If you have the time left. Meh.
