....I can't log in without being kicked out of the server and each time I manage to log into the server I get 99% download even after multiple launcher restart. Wrote a ticket about an Ops pass in my inventory and another reminding them to fix their crappy servers. Will try again later tonight after the maintenance. If I read it right, they're trying to appease with tokens that would only pop up randomly only for the last boss... more RNG on top of the RNGs? But I'm okay with PVP-ing for them. Anyway... amusing myself with making gifs of my OTP

"Valor requirement on vendor, not on the gear itself. Once you get the gear, they won’t take it away. "
Uhm... this should fix my problem yes? Lightsaber shells I got for 900 comms previously which equated to about five matches (or two for my enterprising second character using clever use of game mechanics) will no longer be locked because valor 42, yes?
Also are they going back to PVP and PVE specific gear? I thought they didn't want to do that anymore. And what's PVP specific gear if expertise is gone anyway? Not that I care I don't do PVP or OPs... which does make me wonder what I'm going to do for gear.

Do you still have BitRaider installed? Yes, but I have no trouble with the launcher for the past few years. But apparently, its a regional thing as it happened toeveryone in my guild (we're mostly from three countries) and we're all having server issues. This is really beyond dumb. And I think I started the whole gif trend with SWTOR... I remember them retweeting one of mine some months back and they really like it and someone asked me how I made them. Should have recommend photoshop... could use more HQ gifs

PvP is just one of three ways how to get it and they complicated it by putting a vendor in the middle of it. Remember when they removed data crystals because it was too complex and confusing? Yeah...

My ISP don't block torrents. I could torrent at the same time with the game being up and the torrent will run clean. It was the issue with the server prioritizing its local players that it will screw anyone who isn't in America and Europe. SWTOR tend to ignore complaints like this and blame it on user's end which is dumb. Especially since I use a game traffic proxy that monitors the connections, I saw that it was the origin server that create these issues and it tend to clear up every server maintenance. Another day of no SWTOR.... on weekend I guess I should work on Arcann's fanfic.

It's been ~3 weeks since the patch and I have to say... overall the changes were good. There are a few bugs and the PvP balance is broken but all that can be fixed. Gameplay hasn't changed much for most classes aside from some buffs and nerfs. I still can't believe they released Commandos and Mercs like that, it's unreal how good that class is now. Superior offense with great mobility, electric net to shut down all kinds of escape abilities, self heal and the best defense in the game. Reflect bubble that will heal you for each hit you take while damaging the enemy, a shield that restores your health once it pops and an automatic self heal that brings you back up to 70%, twice as fast as other classes. My Commando was good already, after 5.0 he's nearly unstoppable. I can win almost every 1vs1 (I struggle a little with Shadows/Assassins and some Sentinels/Marauders, because those have a bug that vastly increases their damage) because I simply won't go down while I dish out damage that is difficult to top. It's rather annoying to enter an arena as Seer Sage and be confronted with 4 Mercs. Unless they are really, really bad I might as well lie down and die, because there's no chance to survive their focus bursts long enough to kill even one of them. But ... one deals with that, balance has always been an issue for PvP. It'll change soon enough, I hope.
Galactic Command will get tuned and I hope they increase the cxp reward from (heroic) missions since they lowered the cxp of elite mobs. I feel it should scale with the difficulty... a champion mob on a starter planet is not the same as one encountered after chapter 3, much less a boss encounter in a flashpoint or operation.
Even so, I managed to get to rank 115 with my sage (even got some shiny, legendary 236 gear) and my next 5 chars are between 15 and 30. It's still very alt unfriendly but I can at least get them to a point where I can switch to them when I feel like it. It helps that I've got more than 50 schematics I can craft (not that all of them are useful) and access to the necessary materials is easy. I can farm them solo if needed and I get most of them just by doing what I do anyway.
The fastest way to increase your GC rank is farming veteran Uprisings with a good group. Especially Fractured, which is the shortest, easiest Uprising where you can skip some enemies and instantly kill the Sith Lord, thus skipping the longest fight. I'm pretty sure that's an exploit though and it can be assumed BioWare will fix that as soon as possible but until then you can run it in under 10min for 1k+ cxp. I get even more out of it. 680 cxp for finishing the mission, not counting the bonus from LS victory (which pushes it up to 7xx something), plus a medium cxp pack worth 340 cxp. What I am doing is collecting them until my cargo hold is full, then using them with a cxp booster during LS victory for a massive increase. That also has the benefit of giving me a ton of light side tokens.
Of course, I'm not running the same Uprising over and over again all day, I do that for maybe an hour tops... the rest of the time I'm playing PvP and doing planetary missions while I wait for the queue to pop. Even throwing snowballs at people adds up, since you get 20 cxp for each parcel.
Some people were clever on day one and farmed elite mobs for hours, thus getting a huge headstart. Today I played with someone whose gear was 240+, half of it being 242. Almost at rank 300, too. I pride myself on being very efficient about this but I just don't have the time to play for 6+ hours every day as other people. I could have ~30 ranks more if I played just one character but if I did that I'd get too bored to even log in. Only did the daily PvP missions and some crafting today... oh, and leveled my gunslinger to 70 (which only took the Tatooine heroics in a fast group). Need to gear her up, too... but that should be easy now, since I can craft everything she'll need to get started. Dual 234 blasters for a start sounds rather nice, doesn't it?
It would be great if the GC rank was for the entire legacy and instead of gear we'd get tokens from the crates so we could buy what we wanted from vendors... but maybe that would be too fast and easy.
Anyway... overall it made the game somewhat more interesting and fun.

I was at this, I'm the Mirialan Sage in white Jedi Strategist at the front kneeling and later dancing etc. Great to be a part of, the community has been mostly lovely about this. I suppose now I've come out I'll be expected to post my characters won't I? There are a lot... frigging altoholism.

I'm finally done with the DS Inquisitor playthrough of KOTET and got a full 230 set bonus for Marauder/Sentinel. I guess I'm ready to talk about KOTET... As a disclaimer, I love KOTFE... naturally, I love this one as well. Accept that my fangirlism does colour my judgement which may or may not shared by most players to the game and in this forum. Naturally if you want to avoid spoiler, just don't expand these. Image heavy screen caps: LSDSThoughts on the Story : So, despite being shorter than I like it to be, KOTET is fairly concise enough that it doesn't feel like its riddled with fillers like parts of KOTFE. The best executive decision that the writers did to the story was to set aside returning companions and expand on existing character arcs particularly in regards of Vaylin and Valkorion. Some of the noticeable element of this expansion was how it plays upon choice and consequences. Every single step you take, you will deal with a lot of choices that have direct consequence to the later chapters. One of these was how Torian and Vette was allowed more screentime and there's foreshadowing and clever scenes where you interact with these characters briefly which is enough to feel some attachment to them regardless if you have SW or BH background. As for the painful later chapters. I genuinely have no issues with it. I've expected something like Virmire would finally crop up with the ridiculous amounts of companions that you get in KOTFE. The only thing that frustrated me about this was how Vette was the obvious heroic choice to save and Torian was the preferred sacrifice. It was truly stupid how I didn't get any disapproval from everyone if I was indifferent to Torian's death but when the Wrath herself tried to be indifferent to Vette's death, immediately everyone accused her for being insensitive. She get a long letter from Gault about his time with her and how losing her like a star died.... What the frell? I told her to stay away from the front lines and she ignore it because she have another big toy gun and then when she got pinned down, she whined about h ow I was abandoning her and she's so helpless and alone... and then if I saved the damsel in distress, suddenly everyone acted like dead Torian is fine.... No. That's not fine! He's not a suicidal canon fodder! Move away Liara, I have another blue thing I'd like to throw into that volcano. Anyway, I like how I'm right about Valkorion. In KOTFE, he was quite charming, fatherly, subtle and patient but he's progressively greedier and desperate in KOTET. Wrath didn't believe all of his BS while Darth Maul ate up everything like an idiot he is. With Wrath, they had the most interesting dynamic together and she have the best of lines "He rambles like a blowhard, I shower him with insults." The final showdown is nothing short of awesome as it was personal for her. It floored to me that she was was following the path where Revan and Scourge had tried and failed... its totally " I am no man" moment. With Maul, I love how Valkorion labelled him simply as a lone Sith bloated with power. I guess that's an appropriate response when you stroke a man's ego and power fantasy enough... but I was surprised with Maul and the alternate DS scenes but it didn't feel quite as satisfying without... ....Arcann-bae...... I don't have any expectation when I found out that Arcann can be a companion but.... dang.... all the things I said about sexual tension and dark obsession.......and then your headcanon starts to come true and you just stare and * キタ━━━ (゜∀゜) ━━━!!!!* as it happen... apparently when we flip the switch, he turned into a royal cinnamon knight in shining armor with his lightsaber curving around you. I'm not blind enough to mistake the look on that man's face as anything other than pure adoration. He didn't stop staring with his clear blue eyes and saying pretty things like "It's time a worthy empress takes our place." "I believe in you" "I won't let you face him alone" and still remember the exact words I said to his father half a decade ago and "And I have you". *faint* Also I like that Senya somehow noticed something going on and Valkorion sneering at them lovebirds. This is perfection. Now that's unloaded.... I like the different ways of dealing Arcann. People who hated him and wanted him dead have that option early on but they did it amazingly well and its worth the replay value. I still can't see him as one-dimensional character as even in dark side, it was really clear that he was a mess. He's not just a defeated tyrant, it was his lowest point and you're practically pushing him to a point of no return. And his father's taunting him until the end was horrid and honestly, everything was the very definition of child abuse. I know practically everyone whined about daddy issues but compared to the things in Mass Effect and Dragon Age, in here, you can be the abuser and practically endorsing it. No matter how righteous you try to be or justify refusing to let Senya heal Arcann, you're still practically the monster of the situation... with a voice in your head gloating all over it.... Senya's last words about giving Arcann hope haven't actually sunk into me until I heard him recite "The pain only feels like it last for eternity". I did Voss ritual on all characters and the whole mystic thing and the ritual explicitly tells you that it doesn't change the person you are inside, it simply cleanse the darkness from your soul. I guess, he fought a Dark Lord of the Sith and he went to the dark side completely after he was wounded and was susceptible to its influence and by proxy, his father's. I guess Arcann's wounds never really heal and he felt constant pain for years. Also, I like how KOTET changed Vaylin's narrative from basic psychotic evil b*tch with mommy issues in KOTFE. The KOTET trailer explored her past and the story told through Senya's narrative rather than hers but it doesn't actually expand on her actual self in the present KOTET. The short story does help a bit with foreshadowing that Vaylin's feeling to her mother isn't quite clear cut as I assume. In KOTET, she is still psychotic and crazy but there's an added depth and a lot of vulnerability. Her paranoia and self-doubt grew as did with her desire to punish and hurt others until she get what she want which is to break the chains around her. Despite all of his faults, Arcann's move against Outlander was always calculated, using fear, intimidation to get what he wants and he was just as merciless which is expected from a Sith Emperor but Vaylin is a stark contrast against that. She doesn't care about everything but herself, what she want is always the priority. I am right that she is a textbook definition of a pathological narcissist but I'm wrong about her complete lacking in conscience. She was dealing with the remnant of it, there were traces of her love for her family but it was twisted. Her feelings for her brothers is genuine as it does for her mother which she had a love hate situation. It frustrated her deeply, she grew increasingly unpredictable, unstable and it was turning her inside out that she simply lashes at everything in her sight. While Arcann is made into a sympathetic villain, Vaylin made it easy for everyone to hate her and to justify the necessity of her downfall in Valkorion's plot. Which disappointed a lot of people who wanted her redeemed as well. However, with the ways things goes, I don't think her story ended in KOTET. Vaylin is a popular character to waste. KOTET gameplay : I noticed the latest patches did a number on KOTET. Difficulty level was toned down in my second playthrough compared to the December playthrough (then again, I was dealing with constant lag spikes). There's no more timer in Chapter 3 (some players especially older ones and even military vets with PTSD talk about the timer is making them stressed and causing severe anxiety). I hate how Arcann got nerfed in KOTET, I particularly love his fight in Chapter 12. A lot of fights are mind numbingly easy, some champion have 20% HP when you neared them. I guess I have replay everything in Veteran mode. Too bad there's no consequence to borrowing Valkorion's powers.
Also I found this two days ago when I went exploring at Nathema and hit the exhaustion zone.
Overall, I'm not too keen about the chapters where you have to move in walkers. Its a novelty thing but I wished it was optional. It make me remember driving Atlas Mech in ME3 but instead of point and shoot, you just tab at your enemy and shoot missiles while you're facing the other way. The party puzzle was mindnumbingly was easy as well once you know what you're doing. Also you can drop from the second floor to the first floor without dying.
I found out how people get Force Spike. It was Lord Dramath's primary weapon which you can use. You can pick it out and give him a generic lightsaber and keep the pike with you. Too bad no mods. Will talk about general 5.0 tomorrow... particularly about GC.

hey guys ... haven't played much over the holidays (just some GTN checking or crafting or some heroics), still not finished with KOTET but at least 2 chars are lvl 70 now A couple of thoughts: 1. BUG/Glitch: a glitch/bug happened (on both my lvl 70 chars) when I was toggling heroics via the GC-Interface (hate the sound it makes btw): with both chars I was in my Nar Shadaa stronghold and I was klicking the planetary mission button on the interface and always declined when I didn't like the planet/heroics it suggested, waiting for Yavin or Tatooine or Coruscant to pop up ... BUG: when Nar Shadaa heroics appeared the mission was immediately completed (I couldn't even decline) and I gained the 450 CXP ... huh (I don't complain though ^^) 2. RANT: I kinda hate the Revan-DLC by now... tedious FPs until you finally get to Yavin which you HAVE TO finish in order for the Dailies to unlock (the first 2 PTs were kinda fun but now ... meh) /rant 3. honorable mention: I find it rather amusing when I read the upcoming changes to GC: the fans/players suggested precisely THAT: give us Tokens/Currency to buy the gear we want and make it legacy wide... BW again didn't listen although the fans had the right/good/practical idea

BW again didn't listen although the fans had the right/good/practical idea Of course they didn't listen, they know best! Which is why their game is doing so good right now. *rolls eyes* I hate that there are so many fp in the Revan storyline, but I like the rest of it. RotHC on the other hand...I skip that totally now.

Omg, I am glad to hear that merc/mando is op now, and impossible to kill, and that they can burst down sorc heals. Heh, I spent years listening to merc/mandos weep over being unable to do much in arenas. Heh, funny.

My main problem with KOTET is: where do we go from here?
Seriously, what's left to do? Except track down any remaining companions/LIs that are still out there? It felt very much like a finale, an ending not just of a storyarc but of a story. Especially on my SW who was with Vette.

I actually have little interest in going back to swtor after finishing the latest expansion on my SW. *shrug*

I sometimes drop by my old guildsite, see the guys still doing stuff, and I wish I had the energy to resub and catch up and ask for a fill place in the raids, but then I know I am not going to. I miss the good times, but the game itself, nope, not really. In all fairness, I should uninstall SWTOR along with BnS and Revelation.

I am not sure yet that there is any point in subbing right now, unless you really care about CXP. The people who care about CXP tend to be end-game lovers and they haven't given them anything new in a long time. Not sure how any of it works for the PvP side, I usually avoid PvP unless I'm forced into it. (Hello Pierce)
I still enjoy the class stories very much, so I am working my way through those on a smuggler and agent right now.

Not sure how any of it works for the PvP side, I usually avoid PvP unless I'm forced into it. (Hello Pierce) I still enjoy the class stories very much, so I am working my way through those on a smuggler and agent right now. Heh, I had 30 characters, I think 10 of them maxed out at 65 the time I left, all went through the SoR (yeah, joy), and double bonus sets of the augmented gear. I've done most of the class stories twice, in different advanced classes. You really won't go far without the sub though. You can't wear gear, can't shop with those measly creds allocations, and leveling is uber slow. You can play 5 PvP matches per week, can't do Ops at all, can't even mail creds between characters, can't craft properly... They only give you like 2 silly quickbars out of 6 either. I actually thought when I was leaving that I would play on preferred, and bought a bunch of unlocks, all the 16 character slots, thinking I am so super-smart, I can rotate my chars to PvP... So, the moment I log back in, what I see is 28 augments in my inventory and my mail. See, I did bought the purple gear unlock, but I did not activate it before the sub expired. So, the game ripped all my augments out of the gear, and dropped it in my inventory. I've paid for installing each of them too. To put all the augments back in - or even just half of them for only a PvE set or a PvP set- will use up most of my 350 thousand credits... And a bunch of my keybinds was not working. Well, guess why? I have bound to bar 6, not bar 5, and when I unlocked the extra bar, it unlocked the empty bar 5, not the filled bar 6. I should have taken the screenshots to rebind my 6 to 5. I can use my spare cartel coins, of course, to unlock the 6th bar... but that means I wasted the 5th. I *can* play GSF, since it is the only thing I can do with minimal restrictions. But the pop on GSF was never stellar. By now, there are 5 extra levels and the gear is all totally different, so to ask the guys to carry me to gear up, I will need to have enough commitment to level up, sit down, relearn the binds and parse on a dummy and to gear grind to be able to reciprocate with filling in on the raids/PvP on at least one character. So, as much as I theoretically would have loved to see what my Merc/Mando *can* do, and what on earth they did to my beloved Runt'o'litter, the Cathar op heals, etc... well, I can load ME3MP, get an instant pop and play whatever the heck I want, all geared up in 5 minutes. Not to mention some 60 odd hours of outstanding story in DA:A and DA2. That's if I don't get Inquisition. And a second ME3 play-through.... Then there comes Andromeda... I just can't go back. I love my characters dearly, and I <3 my guildies, but I can't keep up with RL, other games I want to play and a MMO.

Which is why I am still subbed I may cancel once MEA comes out though, because I certainly won't have time to play both games.
