I can't say that the eyes bother me that much. I like shiny things.

There was only one toon that I had to rename because of someone else, the rest of them were because I reused some of my own names on different servers. I'm pretty pleased so far. Spent a couple hours organizing my legacy bank and I'm still not done.

CrutchCricket isn't the Thana set available from one of the vendors in the Cartel bazaar area? Maybe I'm thinking of a different one.

Just to make sure: the one available from the Cartel Market right now as a direct purchase DOES properly unlock into your collections? Would be interested in getting it after years of having only the boots & legs on one of my characters, but I'm not 100% sure who I'd put the set on right now so I really need to know that it properly registers into the collections before I commit the CC

Oh geez, I never knew there was a bug with it unlocking. Glad I never bought it now.
I'm still hoping they'll figure out something with the cartel certificates, because there is an awful lot of nice stuff locked behind them. I actually have over 50 of them, but I've been hoarding them because...I don't know. Maybe someday they'll put those old packs back on sale.

Did they consolidate the servers? I have not logged in in years, so I am not concerned, but I had two legacies, one on Harbinger, and another - on Ebon Hawk, carefully unlocked for 16 slots each to allow me to come back if I ever wanted and have access to all of them on prefered.

Does the merger mean that I would lose the characters/unlocks? (I can't care less about the names, I will rename them if I have to)

Oh, cool. Well, actually, my legacies will remain split anyway. I forgot that the Ebon Hawk was East. So... no changes for me. I can still return... some day.

I have to ask, why do so many players have 10 to 30 plus characters? I have two; one for the Republic side, the other being for the Imperial side. Is there some sort of advantage to creating so many characters?

In my case, it's a combination of things. Usually, it's a combination of needing to keep my characters "perfect" in a game with no save/reset function, while also feeling unwilling to delete them for some sentimental (usually item-related) reason. For example, I have an old Operative that I got a Karagga's Unyielding Helm on. The Operative in question made some story choices I didn't like, however, and also used up the Nico Okarr unlock item rather than getting him "naturally"...so I don't want to play him anymore. But the Karagga hat is so rare and silly that I don't want to get rid of him, either.

In other cases, I made more than one of a character in order to dip my feet in another server's community, so I ended up with two redundant characters on the merged servers, although, most of those I just deleted, except for sentimental, "can't bear to not have that" reasons as noted above.

And yet others, I keep because I think up a name I like and want to "hold" it...

Essentially, some people suffer from altitis.
...but I revel in it.

The reasons you all listed seem good; I could understand that. I just could not tolerate all the micromanaging.

In case anyone missed it and needs it- Revan Holostatue, Malgus Armor and Imperator Hoverchair are on Direct Sale. While the latter are just vanity, teh former is super useful- 60 sec insta vendor, great for repairs and trash selling. Forget Legacy Perks, this one's a must have!
