I decided that maybe SWTOR just didn't know what to do wth my computer screen having built in speakers.

I plugged in some $1 headphones.

The sound works.

I went through the opening sequence and had a laugh when my Sith Warrior said she'd have "killing acolytes" in common with the monster slugs.

it made me wonder if F. Hawke writers had worked on this.

yes, I'm playing warrior for Quinn, or I'd have been a rogue or a mage.



I did all that. It just doesn't like my computer speakers and refuses to use them. husband two says maybe because SWTOR was originally coded before HDMI? whatevs.

I don't know Dragon Age, but isn't F.Hawke Jo Wyatt?

My computer's hooked up to a TV via HDMI. No issues with sound.

I killed slugs for a while until I had much better pants, a belt, a better weapon and better shoes. No new shirts seems to be dropping and I'm level 4.

I was really confused by what "bound" meant. I was like, I can never take these off?! but then I googled and it just means can't be traded with players.

Also a bit annoyed that leveling requires I talk to someone for "training". So weird. Don't know where the trainer lives. There are three green labeled toons, but the game only lets me talk to the merchant medic robot.

Also annoyed that I was obviously going to attack a slug, and some other user aggroe'd it away from me with their longer distance attack. rude.

I haven't played an MMO since maybe Diablo 1? I'm not going to count the single evening I tried playing that FF MMO.

Anyway, I'm off to more renovations. I feel like I'm completely scatter brained, playing two new games at once.

Trainers are generally in the communal areas of every planet. Some even have two or three. On Korriban, there's one right near the entrance of the first tomb, and another on the second floor of the academy. You can bring up the map and there's a toggle that will show them. The icon is a little "/\" shape with a green + in the middle if there's a new ability for you to learn.


Yeah, it has a nasty habit of happening. For what it's worth, as a Warrior, by level 2 or 3 you can learn Force Charge which'll attack immediately jump you to a group from long range.

lol was that an "old" joke? Google was around in 2011. I think I started in 2012. I remember the game was going F2P and I thought I'd only have to pay for a month, maybe 2. Funny how that turned out.

And actually, now that I think about it, it wasn't that I thought I couldn't take the armor off, I thought if I did, it'd get destroyed- I read "bound" like bandages, once you take them off, they're not really reusable.

Yeah, for the most part I prefer male for every class that isn't agent.

Male Knight is David Hayter (the one and only Solid Snake)
Male Inquisitor is just perfect for the snark and the mental dark side user. He really nailed that biting/spitting your words thing Palpatine does.
Male Smuggler is hilarious, though I haven't heard the female that much, so they could be equivalent.
Male Trooper is Brian Bloom, who I know as Jackie Estacado from The Darkness II so that works out. Jennifer Hale may be awesome but femTrooper is pretty much femShep and I was meh on that voice since Mass Effect. I like her as Satele though.
Male BH is... pretty much what I'd expect a bounty hunter to sound like.
Male Warrior sounds a touch aristocratic, which makes sense since I think his backstory is supposed to be more highborn. And this is the only case where I downright hate the female voice.
Male Consular I guess would be tied with female, they both sound like serene, if a little bland Jedi.

SWTOR hasn't gone anywhere yet. You can come back. Do three flashpoints and earn a new comp!

Is the beginning always so slow or did I just accidentally trap myself in an endless tutorial

Not sure at what point you're at, but I actually find pretty much everything to be really fast now, outside of some KOTFE/KOTET chapters that are padded with too many mandatory fights with generic Skytroopers and whatnot.

phoray hey, when you resurface, Korriban is actually the shortest of the 4 Tutorial planets. If you do like the game and feel like playing it for at least two stories, I strongly recommend dropping those $15 for 2 months sub (or one month). It will make everything much smoother and more fun.

Doesn't everyone get the Dr. Oggurob holostatue now? Or ever since Rise of the Hutt Cartel became just part of the deal and not something you had to purchase separately? I was just thinking about the skill trainers, and that nifty little holostatue is the only trainer I've ever used for years now.
