I wasn't in a Star Wars mood despite the new movie trailer (I usually jump back into SWTOR when they release), but this expac announcement did put me in a SWTOR mood.
New expac is going to have (another) itemization revamp that apparently include new item types. Unless the new item types are all for the new tactical slot, I wonder what those new items types are. Also, the tactical slot sound interesting...but we all know it will be poorly balanced, bouahaha.

Well it looks like it's gonna be a Shadow of Revan sized expansion. I hope whatever the tactical gear thing ends up being it's actually something interesting and doesn't' just clog the screen up with more special effects lol. I really wish I could toggle half of that stuff off! Also they need to go into overtime and start smashing bugs before this thing comes out, each of the latest patches they've been doing have been breaking stuff left and right. Far as I've noticed ranged companions are still hanging back and doing nothing for like 6 months or more now.

Nice i'm pretty hype for this new expansion,i feel like the studio that develops this game is probably the closest thing we have left to "Old Bioware" and i hope that doesn't change.

The news about this expansion upped my hype for this game a bit. I think closer to the release (in august) i will subscribe for 2 or 3 months to play everything i missed so far.

I need more expac information. Massivelyop has some screenshots of the slides from the panel but without the audio I suspect I'm missing a lots of info. Going by the massivelyop slides, the "Spoil of War" changes looks to be BIG (which means probably catastrophic). Not just a revamp of stats on items (or whatever the new customization means) like I first expect. They are introducing non-combat sets too (i.e. crafting set). People will have to keep a couple of gear sets I think. I can already feel the rage. Hopefully they add in an armory-like system to help manage it. Nice i'm pretty hype for this new expansion,i feel like the studio that develops this game is probably the closest thing we have left to "Old Bioware" and i hope that doesn't change. Which is funny considering all the "old BioWare" devs who worked on SWTOR pre-release moved to other games or left the company after it released. Which means it's probably more that SWTOR wasn't considered important by the high management of BioWare for them to mingle with it (except for the KOTFE/KOTET era, that was trying to be very "old BioWare" but didn't fit structurally in a MMO) and also the smaller dev team means they have easier time communicating with each others.

It's nice to see the ray of sunshine has appeared to dampen down any glimmer of excitement one might have for new stuff. I was going to watch Charles Boyd on The Star Wars Show when he was at Celebration but they put him on early and by the time I saw that he was done Regardless, I am still excited for new stuff and happy that the game still get updates and content, even when it's not stuff I play/use/do.

I find that unlikely to be true azarhal considering how much money this game generated over those past years. Anyway, if this expansion is on a similar size to Shadow of Revan i will be happy with it.

Well, it just took about three years, not that anyone has been counting!!!
Any item/gear set/stat change in SWTOR adds more white to my hair. Mostly because it usually is not well explained, buggy and people find a crap ton of ways to exploit it with the devs being two steps behind in fixing it.

Started replaying my BH from last year who I left mid-way the Balmorra bonus series to go play a Smuggler.
I wasn't surprised to see so many people on that planet (Balmorra) on the Imp side because it is double XP week (bug hunt XP farming), but I was surprised by the amount of people on Nar Shadda (there was more map instances open than on Balmorra). I wasn't seeing much people questing around, so I take it most of these people were in their stronghold.
If the expac announcement cause so many people to log into the game, the servers are going to crash next September...

honestly I was really surprised they actually announced a 6.0 ... logged in after my vacation, did some dailies on Ossus, put stuff up on the GTN, checked conquest ... so all in all I am more excited about 6.0 than the new Anthem patch but to sweeten the wait I think I'll buy Anno 1800

I need to redo Sith Warrior, Inquisitor, Trooper and Smuggler all the way to Jedi Under Siege. Before I'd just do the class story then mess around with pvp but pvp (although fun) really wasn't this game's strongest point.

Still trying to get more classes past base game content, still failing at it.
I did the Nar Shadda, Tatooine and Alderaan bonus series for the first time since like December 2011 on Rep side this weekend on my Gunslinger (also started chapter 2)...and I decided to rereroll a Scoundrel (I spent like 2 months alternating between Scoundrel and Gunslinger last year).
Gunslinger kill stuff fast and easily, but turret gunplay isn't very engaging. I started looking at other things than the enemies while playing unless it was an elite+. But when it comes to Scoundrel, I can't stand Scrapper's animations and I know that Ruffian can get boring once you just brutal shot things. We will see how it goes. I might just end up making a Vanguard at this point (although, I'm not really in the "For the Republic!" mood). I still can't get interested in a force user (I tried my Consular who is at Ilum now), I need to shoot things. I still kinda wants to play my Powertech too. Now starting Alderaan with her, I also did all the bonus series prior to that, but I really need to get at least one Republic class at Jedi Under Siege before the next expac release...and the way things are going that's not gonna happen. I've been trying for like 2 years without success and, yet, I'm a Republic player at heart.
Now about the bonus series. I liked Nar Shadda and Tatooine on my Smuggler. Alderaan was boring outside one quest. Also, I've been doing the heroics from the quest givers instead of consoles and it is so much better. Imperial bonus series were a bit meh on Nar Shadda and Tatooine though.
Now let see if I can bring that Scoundrel to the chapter 2 without burning out...

I have a Lethality Operative (Ruffian mirror) and it's actually one of the most fun characters gameplay-wise, IMO. Low level stuff has been more dynamic so far, but I always liked Coruscant questing. The real test will be Taris. I hate Taris in general, except on the Trooper and that one quest into the Endar Spire because of the music. I've been running with Corso set to Tank for a change too. I usually run with companion on Heal, even the last time I tried a Scoundrel, but I decided on Tank so enemies chew on Corso instead of me while I shoot them in the back. I should have done that with my previous scoundrels because Corso isn't casting heals when I'm full HP, he attacks stuff all the time and my repair cost have dropped considerably. I'm not sure how that will hold up in later planets heroics though, because Coruscant isn't exactly the best example of difficulty in the game.

Dantooine Tactical Report05.03.2019 Dantooine Tactical Report
TACTICAL REPORT ASSESSMENT DNT-2238.553b CLASSIFICATION: CONF-EXPD REPORT ASSESSOR ID 34372 ASSESSMENT CONTENT:
Republic control of Dantooine has long been a thorn in Empire’s side, but the latest reports from the Raioballo sector indicate we may yet dislodge it without placing undue strain on our resources. Such opportunities arise so rarely that I have demanded this assessment be expedited to senior intelligence officials for immediate consideration.
In recent years, my unit observed with increasing alarm as the Republic incrementally reinforced its military presence on Dantooine and began industrializing farms throughout the pastoral world. The planet is, of course, positioned at the edge of Imperial space, making it a perfect staging point for forays into our territory. Further, it has become a critical link in the Republic supply chain, storing both munitions and vast quantities of food supplies en route to the front and serving as a resupply station for Republic ships.
The governing body on Dantooine actively supports Republic military activity in their territories. In return, they receive generous farming subsidies and full salvage rights to the ruined Jedi Enclave and outlying areas, which has proven lucrative. My direct superiors refuse to allocate field agents to the planet, deriding it as a backwater, and thus we have not even begun to infiltrate the government apparatus to represent our interests there.
I have made several prior requests for action against the growing threat on Dantooine (see TACTICAL REPORT ASSESSMENTS DNT-1944.332, 1522.423c, 0631.649), but they have been denied due to the resources deemed necessary for such efforts. However, new developments in the region may mean a large contingent will not be required to disrupt Republic activity—and perhaps open the door to forcing them to abandon Dantooine altogether. This cannot be ignored!
A group of pirates known as the Nova Blades have been regrouping near the Raioballo sector (see TACTICAL REPORT RSI-1003.106a for background). They are already positioned behind the Republic’s lines, making it far easier for them to approach Dantooine than for our own forces. Though our scouts report the pirates are still somewhat disorganized, they have amassed an impressive arsenal in a short time and are hungry for additional firepower. It would be a simple thing to convince them what a ripe target Dantooine represents.
While they do not have the ability to decimate the planet unaided, the pirates are more than capable of diverting Republic attention when they can scarce afford it. If we supplement the pirate efforts with intelligence and even a few covert operatives, the Republic will be caught off guard and forced to respond. Resources on both sides of this conflict are spread thin. Let’s spread them a bit further for our enemies.
My recommendation is as follows: allow us to establish additional contact with the pirates and assist from the shadows in an attack on the planet. We are poised to convey detailed information about the planet’s defenses and other intelligence of value to the Nova Blades to ensure their success. I further request a small strike force. The chaos caused by the assault will undoubtedly provide cover for surgical strikes on key infrastructure.
If I may be so bold, I also wish to suggest Colonel Trazen as a prime candidate to spearhead this endeavor. She has proven herself a strong advocate for the strategic importance of a destabilized Dantooine, and I can think of no one more fit to oversee it.
I urge immediate action on this matter. The war escalates by the day, and we must take advantage of every opportunity—especially one that promises such substantial rewards for so little risk.
I, Assessor 34372, hereby affirm the accuracy of the statements represented in this assessment. Copy under tag.

as (a totally unimportant) sidenote: I am quite unhappy that this armor set is only available to ranked PvP players (as a purchasable reward for season 10) - I think they initially planned to release it to the cartel market with 5.10 ... I really like it

I got my (new new new*) Smuggler to chapter 2...and I did everything! Took like 30 hours (there might be a few hours spend trying to decide what to wear).
I do enjoy Ruffian a lot more than Gunslinger. Now let see if I an stomach chapter 2 and 3 of the Smuggler which from what I remember I found super boring...but I was playing a gunslinger back then might have influenced things.
*It's the 3rd Smuggler I take to chapter 2 since last October or something like that. The last two didn't "survive" Balmora.

I like that armor too, Dekibra. Maybe they'll put something similar on the cm soon. I've been playing a lot recently and even made some more baby characters. Because, you know, I need more

haven't logged in since 2 years or more, if onslaught is somewhat interesting even if the content it brings is lackluster I may sub again for a while.

I realized yesterday, while playing it, why I find the Balmora Smuggler's storyline is so boring.
It's practically the same story as the planet storyline: - both involve retrieving/delivering intels/packages - both involve smuggling someone out of their "workplace" - both involve prison breaks - both involve "stealing" weapons from the Empire
Although, Moff Torak being very not funny doesn't help either. Oh and I wonder if I should have flirted back with Numen...I can probably find youtube videos about it though.
edit: yep youtube provided...good things I didn't do it, Corso gets so pissed. lol.
