and it would be totally fine if they are waiting for some hardware - but the silent treatment doesn't help to lighten the mood on the official forums but it is early in the morning in Texas so what can you expect There was a post yesterday that mentioned a possible maintenance today. They aren't exactly silent, the CM just don't seems to know what is going on more than we do. The fact they didn't revert anything tells me the issues is not software though. Saying that, Voss seems to be fine on Star Forge this morning. I'm not going to try to go into a Stronghold though. I wasn’t effected that much so I rather read the official forum with interest and hoped I would be fine still — and I was: loaded into my SH, transferred to my Nar Shadaa SH, still no problem, exited to NS and played the casino for an hour. what I meant was more like: the lack of info always seems to lead to cries for more communication and I can relate somewhat. When things don‘t go as planned/are bugged/laggy you want new info probably every minute ... but I think BW managed it quite well this time around, they reacted as soon as they came into the office today and seem to have resolved the issue

Finished base game JK story for the second time, I forgot a bunch of things that happened in it but it's been like 5 years since I played it to the end. Once I reached level 70 at the end of Balmorra I only did purple quests after that too. I didn't feel like redoing all the side quests I've done not even a month ago. I remember not really like JK story before, but this time my conclusion are: Chapter 1 is boring. Chapter 2 is pretty good. Chapter 3 as its up and down but better than chapter 1. Saying that, I find it super hilarious that everyone is "you're the best Jedi ever" and yet you get the master title at the very end while the Consular gets it before starting Chapter 2. My plan to make dark side pragmatic JK totally failed though. I took a few DS choices, but most of them are just greedy selfish choices, the pragmatic were either neutral or light sided. I still used the dark side option on the Emperor, so satisfying. I also played as much as I could with Kira, at first I wanted to do most content with T7, but turns out I like to understand my companion's ambient dialogues and I really love sarcasms. I'm going to miss her once I reach KOTXX. *sniff* Next: Ilum...again.

It was mentioned in the Spoils of War stream chat a few week ago: changes to F2P/Preferred are coming (in 5.10.4). They are increasing the credit cap to 1m for both. More +1 hotbars (preferred = 5, F2P = 3, subs stays at 6) and the subscriber only medical probe/quick travel perks are being made universal.

PTS for Onslaught Sorcerer is a go sorta. They want paper feedback first, but you can download it (via the launcher, you need to switch the environment with the button down on the left). --- Also, the Nightlife event is on and while doing story I got lots of Smuggler's coins from FPs the last few days (boss drops them) and I got this baby today.

I got a bunch of certs (both kind) along the vectron. The event is going to run until July 30, plenty of time to waste more time there. The annoying part though was that to use the cartel certs I had to increase my Underground reputation (it was at 0), cue me finding a stronghold with an old contraband slot machine. Thank you, stranger stronghold owner. My JK is at the door of KOTFE and I decided to start a new Sith Assassin to not get too bored of playing Republic too much. I made a Cathar, he looks awesome. It's been a while since I played SI (~3.0) and I remember just a few things about the story (Ashara, Zash and the ending). The weirdest part of the SI story: tonally, it's Republic counterpart is the Smuggler. A rags to rich story based on (destiny) luck full of (dark) comedic elements. The SI story just has way more crazy and you actually started in rags.

This is the strangest association I have seen for a long time, really. By this interpretation all the stories are the same.

No they aren't all the same, if you think that after what I wrote you have a very poor grasp of the stories in the game. Only the Smuggler and Inquisitor have story presented in a comedic fashion all the way through: - some antagonists presented in a comedic way (ex: Diego on Tatooine for the Smuggler and Lord Paladius on Nar Shadda for the Inquisitor), - comedic cutscenes (Smuggler sometimes tries to hard to be Buster Keaton) - they have the most "funny" dialogue choices of all the classes (not the same humor though, like total opposite actually). That doesn't mean other classes don't have a bit of comedy or funny replies, but their stories aren't presented as comedies. JK, Trooper, SW and BH are action-drama. Imperial Agent is a spy thriller. JC start as a thriller, but shift to a more political drama tone by chapter 2. They are the only two classes who aren't told they are the best in their intro (i.e. starting in rags): - both Jedi are told the moment they land on Tython that they are the best (in martial art for JK and the force for JC) - Sith Warrior is considered an elite and favored the moment they land on Korriban - BH is said to be "best shot in the galaxy" in their intro - Imperial Agent is told they finished at the top of their class vs - Smuggler is a small time smuggler at the start - Sith Inquisitor are constantly reminded that they are slaves (and aliens if you play a none-human) and undeserving of being Sith. They finish with riches. Literal for the Smuggler as they end up with a criminal empire of their own. The SI ends up on the Dark Council, the highest political body in the Empire. The other classes don't upgrade their standing as much as these two. JC topped early chapter 2 (and might get a council seat if light side, but the Jedi Council doesn't have the political power of the Dark Council), JK achieve Jedi master rank by the end of the story. IA/Trooper just raise in ranks. BH is still just a freelancer. Sith Warrior are enforcers from start to finish. They succeed only because of "luck". The other classes fail if faced by something they can't deal with yet (if they even encounter something like that), not such things for the Smuggler and Sith Inquisitor. Smuggler survive way too many thermal detonators and bombs through out of the story in cutscenes for example (it's part of the comedic tone). The SI story is a just a string of crazy stuff after crazy stuff.

Well, from the start you are equalling slave status with a small venture business (and, btw, the best pilot ever - smuggler manages to land in the middle of the war zone without a scratch and boasts about it). You equals presence of funny moments in SI story with - totally agree! - comical parody of the story about razing Mary/Marty Sue - etc., etc. By this measure all the stories should look equal to you.
But it's ok, I only said what I said because I thought after declarations (not from you, on off-forums) "KOTET and KOTFE were clearly written for smugglers" nothing about SWTOR can surprise me. Looks like I was wrong.

But it's ok, I only said what I said because I thought after declarations (not from you, on off-forums) "KOTET and KOTFE were clearly written for smugglers" nothing about SWTOR can surprise me. Looks like I was wrong. I don't equal Smugglers to slaves, I equal them to the starting point of "in rags" in the expression "from rags to riches" with their small time crook starting position to leader of a criminal empire. They don't own a small venture business at the beginning of the game, unless you equal running errands for criminals as owning a business. Also, nobody ever claims they are the "best pilot ever" except their own very egocentric self...they also scrapped the front of their ship in the first landing which always made me think that Skavic was sarcastic when he said "nice flying". It's not just funny moments, it's the way it is written and presented. For example, Tatooine is a shaggy dog story that poke fun at the player over it at the end which means the writer though it was funny (it's boring like any shaggy dog stories). You get cutscenes of antagonists dying with their best expression of Howe's over-dramatic death in DAO (which I believe is taken from a movie). If you go DS you are a mustache twirling psychopathic villain parody (even more so with the female VO). If you go light side it's a straight dark comedy with everyone going "you're not going to kill me???" in funny ways (which you don't get in the SW story if going light side). The Khem + Zash combo is hilarious. I'm not yet there in my replay but I remember the ghosts related things being presented as funny instead of the very serious business it was too. There other classes, outside Smuggler, are written and presented as serious stories. The Smuggler and SI character are written and directed as not taking anything seriously, every other classe protagonist, even way saying funny one-liners, are always serious. They all go very "your the best ever" though, but that's BioWare's ego-stroking writing at work, it's not meant to be a comedic element. And while I wouldn't say KOTXX where written for the Smuggler, having played up to chapter 12 with one and a JK in the last few weeks, those chapters are way funnier with a Smuggler (the JK is so serious but I guess that fits).

6.0 Marauder Spoils of War changes and plain Sith Warrior sets propositions. edit: OK, chapter 12 of KOTFE (that's the one where you forge a new weapon) with a Smuggler is terrible. But now that I played through it twice (previously on SW), it's just a very poorly written chapter that exist to telegraph you ruling the galaxy later in the story without a say in the matter. It didn't appear as that much bullshit on the SW because Sith wants power, but on the Smuggler it was very "WTF, that makes no sense!". Also, doing Imperial Taris planet story with a Cathar player character is weird...

With a lot of arguments in line "the Emperor had seen all those force-users before, but Smuggler was something very new to him!" The power of imagination is infinite.

It's not just ego-stroking, as Valkorion is trying to manipulate the protagonist by twisting their egos to have them do what he wants (which is part of Sith 101 to manipulate people). The whole thing is quite similar to the Sith Inquisitor chapter 1 plot, just with more flavors, a bit less artifacts hunting and a way more powerful antagonist.

Looks like I was wrong. KotET clearly was written for Smugglers, particularly light side ones. The light side ending for the expansion is literally you turning the Eternal Fleet into the galaxy's foremost extralegal cargo transport service. Of course, I'm also one of the ones who thinks there's nothing particularly "anti-Tech" about the KotFEET plots anyway, unless you ignored the plots of 1.0 on up, too, or something. On another note, the Smuggler/Inquisitor comparison is also interesting to me, since those were the two who I considered my "mains".

Finally finished a Republic character to be ready for the next story content drop. Ruffian Smuggler was painful in some of the content, but I made it through...but moving past most trashes in the FPs was nice.
I liked Ossus Republic storyline a lot more than the Imperial storyline too.

That's a place reserved for Oricon and Yavin 4 and I liked Jedi Under Siege more than the Iokath daily area storyline line too (but that might be because I hate travelling around on Iokath). Ziost is my favorite. Saying that, Jedi Under Siege felt too much like it existed to just (re)introduce (mostly) new NPCs instead of focusing on its plot.

I read all of that (but I'll probably forget most of it in an hour ) but this is what was most important to me: General Ranged companions should no longer refuse to attack if they are too far from an enemy when the attack action is issued. PRAISE ALL THAT BE HOLY! Sorry I'm so afk these days, thank you for doing all the updating for us azarhal! Hope everyone is doing well
