This is really going to be hard to do, since they've already mentioned they are going to be tweaking the grind rate in more-or-less real time.

I am reminded of the "Turning players into payers" video Jim Sterling did a few years ago. I wonder if they're implementing a similar system for grinding?

I for one am okay with coin gridning being hard. After all, it IS where they get their money from... And also, I'm not someone who needs 20 different outfits for one javelin, so as long as it is not mindnumbing to grind for one particular piece of armor, I'm good.
Or wait. I got the legendary edition, I'm going to use that outfit probably anyway
EDIT: Holy sh*t, I just thought of something. The legendary edition is what, 15$ more expensive? And you get 16 armor pieces. Could this mean that armor will cost about 1$ a piece? Just speculation...

Something tells me there won't be much tweaking if there isn't a big uproar from the player base. Let your voice be heard, Freelancers! And if people start leaving the game, expect 3x coin week event.

Do you get a voucher for iTunes or something? 2) I'm very curious about the ranger javelin gear. Has any word been released on what exactly this gear would be?

1) How does one get said soundtrack? Do you get a voucher for iTunes or something? If it's like last time, there will be a page on the EA website where your EA Account recognizes your LOD purchase (or Premier membership) and allows you to access and download it.

Being promotional material, the LOD armor probably is not a good indication of standard armor prices. I expect armor to cost between $10 and $20 (per full set for one javelin).

I'm more curious how difficulty scaling will factor into how much additional coin we get; if at all. In ME3 MP, a Platinum run would earn you enough to get a premium pack and a jumbo pack (IIRC). Same also applied to ME:A, and Plat's typically only lasted 15-20min if you weren't speedrunning.
It'll be hard to gauge the earn rate of coin until we finally make it into the endgame and start climbing the difficulty ladders, which likely won't be until 2 weeks after release. Hopefully, it isn't obsessive.

The LOD does include the game's soundtrack, that's got to have a cost value, though it often gets overlooked. 1) How does one get said soundtrack? Do you get a voucher for iTunes or something? I'd expect it to work as it did with previous soundtracks of BioWare games, which on PC you just download the soundtrack from Origin and it ends up in the game instal location under \bonus\soundtrack, and it's .wav files (at least it was for Inquisition and Andromeda) Of course, they usually also just end up posted by EA on music streaming service of your choice so...

There will doubtless be debates on the internet pre and post-launch about how easy or difficult it is to accumulate Coin *. We did this before calculating MEMP Premium Spectre pack drop rates. So this thread is for the purpose of collecting and sharing how quickly people may collect Coin and methods they may identify to collect Coin more quickly or efficiently. Please share how much Coin you have collected over a meaningful period of play time. Those with a statistical bent are welcome to contribute their analysis of the data so that we may determine typical Coin/hour rates and compare that in due course to Coin/Shard comparisons. [Not active until launch, but those with statistical opinions are welcome to share them] *Credit to YouTuber Dadefuye for sparking the idea to have this thread. www.youtube.com/channel/UCNFo0htAHe8oOdreCWQ_YRQ
I strongly suspect anyone finding a quick way to earn coin will be nerfed rather aggressively by EA.
EA's skin prices are gouging the Anthem players, imo. I hope they come down.

EA's skin prices are gouging the Anthem players, imo. $8.50 USD **worst case** (various discounts make it lower) is gouging? How do you figure? Or you mean the Coin price? 30 chests does not seem like gouging to me. I’d grind that many in one session of DAI.

You get a bit of coin as mission rewards, but there is lots of coin tied to challenges. 4x weekly faction challenges are 4x 2000 coin alone (dailies and monthlies yield crafting mats). Two dozen kill challenges (non-repeatable) at 800/1600 each. Tons of collectible/exploration stuff (non-repeatable) at 800/1600 each. Handful of Javelin/Pilot/Gear stuff (non-repeatable) at 2000 each. Should be enough there to kit out two Javelins without too much of a problem in 2-3 weeks. After finishing most of the non-repeatable challenges the supply of coin will be reduced obviously, but with materials being shared across Javelins it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

We'll have to see how generous the payout is for the Alliance System. Have you had a chance to make it to Strongholds yet? Is there a coin payout for those?

biggydx: Haven't done a Stronghold yet, will check it out tomorrow. Some of the "critical path" missions have serious coin rewards too. Currently up to 21k in 13h, and another 8k lined up for the next 2-3 hours. I have a feeling this won't keep up, but still. At this rate I have no idea why they even bothered with cosmetic MTX in the first place. If payouts are this generous, the negativ backlash wasn't worth reaching into the wallets of a few whales.

An interesting post I found on reddit. The coins per shard in the leaked screenshot from the store were set at 20 coins/shard for armor packs, materials, decals, and emotes. However, in its current configuration, the rates are as follow: - Armor Packs: 71 coins/shard
- Materials: 40 coins/shard
- Decals: 40 coins/shard
- Emotes: 45 coins/shard
This is leading some people to believe the leaked screenshot was probably the real deal, and then they tuned shard prices in response to the feedback.

It's one of those, "yes, but" things for me.
In the demo, they stated the monetary system was dialed back, to give folks a taste of the real game and a chance to buy stuff … and that the demo stuff would not carry over into the released game.
Most of the demo stuff was 30 coins. Materials, decals, emotes all have a higher price now, but nothing that would be out of line, from what they said of the demo's monetary system.
It doesn't look to me like there was all that big of a change and falls in line with the "detuned" prices in the demo.
