4090 in the box, PSU cable on the way. The Force is growing stronger with me!
Wonder how many other games I will have time to max out and test on the new card before we go again on our Jedi way. Definitely would test the first game as well, probably just before the new release.

Ill be that 4090 set you back close to 3,000 CAD. I could build an entire top-tier system for what a single 30 or 40 series GPU sells for in CAD funds.
Im kinda jealous, but to really take total advantage of the 40 series I would have to buy a whole brand new modern rig, and that would put me in debt.
In CAD....an entirely NEW system from the ground up (matching or beating what I presently have) would run me a grand total of $8,000.00 and no matter how much money you have....prices like that are just foolishly insane.
So I am just going to hope that my rig will run Jedi Survivor at 4K/ 60 hz Setings on Ultra as well as it does with Fallen Order.
Ive just watched a Gamer's Nexus video reviewing the 11 series...and he strongly suggests the 10900 over the 11600 or even 11900, so I think Ill be just fine. There is not much difference in the Recommended Requirements between Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor anyway...with the exception that Survivor Recommends a 2070, and I have a 2080 Super...so even in that dept. Im above what is recommended.
I can see that I will be running this PC rig for at least another 5 years before I truly need to upgrade. By that time, I think they will EOL Windows 10 and make Windows 11 the mainstay, which...provided the bugs are squished, would be fine with me for a full rebuild.
But for now I ❤ my 10900KF build.

And it's actually one of the cheapest available models. But as I saw that the cheapest 3080 10GB are still around 900 euros, I figured we won't be seeing a price drop any time soon. And I would use the card for 5+ years (fingers crossed), so a 4090 makes the most sense currently. I put aside around 1k euros each month as "me money" and PC gaming is my only kinda expensive hobby. So while the card is definitely unreasonably overpriced, I'd say I am paying about 4-500 euros more than what the best price might be for it in the next 3 or 4 years. Which I can live with. And yeah, the Intel's 10th series was widely recommended over the 11th and even some of the 12th. The price, performance and power consumption weren't a worthy improvement until the 13th series.

53 Days till Cal's Journey Continues......Here's hoping Stig Asmussen's vision of a trilogy can and will come true....But for now I'm just excited, super-excited about Jedi Survivor. From everything I/we have seen, I think it will be a game that I play pretty exclusively for the next several months because I can imagine that it is the kind of game that every time you play it you discover something new.

Why is this year so jam packed full of good games? Holy jeez Probably because some of them got delayed from last year as I do know both Hogwarts and Forspoken were originally going to release last year before they got given pushbacks. TBH I was glad that both Gotham Knights and Midnight Suns still managed to squeeze themselves in at the tail end of last year otherwise last year would have been full of nothing and I'd have given my GOTY to Fifa 23 by default of it being the only game I bought. I know Midnight Suns is my 2022 GOTY anyway I've already played it about 4 or 5 times I'm just holding back on doing any more until the DLC's are out. We've had 2 of them in Deadpool and Venom but there's still 2 moer to come in Morbius and Storm the yare releasing them pretty fas tso it's likelty we won' thave to wait long and that they'll likely all be out at some poin tin April as I suspect we'll get Morbius at some point in March

As it turns out, I just received a Chapters gift card today.....so maybe this weekend I will pay a visit to Chapters and check out Battle Scars (hopefully it is available in Trade paperback)....Not sure I want to purchase the hard cover. But I would certainly consider the larger paperback. If I can find it in-store, I will let you know and maybe then we can do an on-line BSN Book Club all about the book!

48 days until Jedi Survivor is launched, I am going to get up early on Friday April 28th (as I am up early for work anyway)....So when I get up to start my day for work, probably around 3:30 a.m., I will begin my download of Jedi Survivor so that I can play it as soon as I get home.
By the way...Does anyone know when The ART of Jedi Survivor is available for pre-order and/or when it will be released? I've heard May 2nd, or something like that....

Been throwing all the heavy hitters at my 4090 and it crushes them with ease. Bring me something demanding!
I wonder if the game will support Frame Generation. I am falling in love with that tech.

My local stores are selling 4090's from $2,200 to $2,700. My PC is failing so I am going to need to get a few PC and the video card will be more than half the budget. The plan is to split the purchase into the non-video card half and then the video card half.

If I still had my 6850K build I'd be springing and splurging for a new build, but my timing is always off. Seems like as soon as I build or buy....something newer and hotter comes out just weeks after. This is far from final, but this is where my headspace is right now since it will be a few months before I can really start looking. ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/4qsyMb A few thoughts:
The case has 176mm CPU clearance, which is the indication of how much space you have to work with for the GPU width. The ASUS TUF 4090 is a big boy and has a width of 150mm. That leaves just 26mm worth of space for the connectors (assuming you are installing the GPU horizontally), which is not much, especially since you don't want the cables to be touching the side panel. And it is recommended that the GPU cable bend should start at least 3.5mm from the GPU connector. This Lian Li case doesn't provide that much space. So you will have to bend the cables a bit more than recommended or look up for a 90 degree connector for the GPU. Your PSU choice is not ATX 3.0, so you will have to either custom cable the 16-pin GPU slot or use the adapter, which will need the space.
If you are grabbing a 4090 GPU, I'd look for a mobo that allows for an upgradeable CPU path. Even the best current CPUs bottleneck the 4090. Intel changes their socket every couple of gens or so, which means with a 13700KF (or even a 13900k) you will be CPU bottlenecked (not massively though) and will have to buy a new mobo and CPU if you want to remove the bottleneck at some point.
You don't have much choice for the DDR-5 mobos currently, so it's probably an issue you will have anyway, but your mobo, CPU cooler and RAM choices look to me like it will be a nightmare to setup due to size, positioning and available space.
A personal preference of mine - but if it's an SSD, it has to be Samsung. They are the leaders in that field and the best quality.

Looks identical from the gameplay previews. It has the occasional dismemberment on human enemies though. The first game had it only for droids and animals.

I'll wait for someone to try if the light saber is as bad as in Fallen Order, to decide if I want to endure this one... the fighting was awful in it for me. Looks identical from the gameplay previews. It has the occasional dismemberment on human enemies though. The first game had it only for droids and animals. I guess I was waiting to have saber cut like in the movies but alas it was toned town to childs saber level - and the fighting, not really something I like, souls style.

This is far from final, but this is where my headspace is right now since it will be a few months before I can really start looking. ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/4qsyMbA few thoughts:
Thanks for the thoughts. There is a lot of things there that are "all that is available at this time" for I am not crazy on all the options out there right now such as the mainboard or PSU. Edit: The vertical mount I was looking at might not work the way I was hoping, but I will spend more time researching when I am able to get working on buying parts.

Edit: The vertical mount I was looking at might not work the way I was hoping, but I will spend more time researching when I am able to get working on buying parts. For the PSU, my recommendation would be the EVGA 1200 P3 or the equivalent from Seasonic. For RAM, my go to is GKSILL, and I agree with Saandrig: If you're getting an 2.5 inch SSD or (my personal preference an M.2 2280 form factor), I would also say my #1 choice has to be Samssung for M.2s. For 2.5 inch SSDs I also personally like Crucial as a second choice is Samsung is 'unavailable' for any reason, or maybe....maybe Western Digital Black, but Samsung is the #1 choice for performance and qaulity....and really, dpeending on your size, they're reasonably priced- even here in the Great White North. As for the Motherboard, I thikn you all know my personal preference is Gigabyte, but ASUS, MSI and AsRock also make some good things too. Though as you mentioned.... Right now there's not a lot to choose from if future upgrades are anything your considering. But do also bear in mind that later this year they will be releasing the 14th Gen CPUs and yet another entirely new socket and chipset for a new motherboard, so you might just want to hold off and see what comes out.....Then also see if 13th Gen and Z690, Z790 prices drop any.
