How does this game compare to Uncharted in terms of platforming difficulty? I can't say in comparison of games because I have not played Uncharted at all. I will say that for Fallen Order itself, the platforming can be as difficult as you make it out to be in the sense that it depends on how you have the controls remapped especially if you play on PC with a KB/M. For example I'll give you an example of the control scheme that I use. When Wall Running and swinging from a vine and then needing to jump onto a ledge that I have to hold onto and/or climb.....I have decided to use them HOME button as the Climb key.....So that means I momentarily have to take my right hand off the mouse and be fast enough to press the HOME Key to latch onto a grate or ledge before I fall to my death, because without first pressing HOME Cal does not grab onto to ledges. This can be time consuming and difficult to coordinate, but over the years I have gotten accustomed to it so it isn't that bad. Plus there is an option that you can toggle on/off if you want to automatically grab onto ledges etc to make it easier. But if you are speaking about the gameplay aspect as to how challenging the platforming is....I would say it is challenging enough especially on some of the later more difficult levels like Dathomir or Ilum. I can't compare it to Uncharted though as personally I have not played that game. I will say that some of the absolute most frustratingly difficult platforming I have ever come across is near the end of Prince of Perisa THe Forgotten Sands ont he Xbox 360. There is one sequence where yoiu have to freeze and unfreeze a series of six waterfalls as you climb up and jump back and forth to jump through each successive waterfall, and the timing window you have to complete each move is very small. I was nearly a year on that one part alone, and several times I wanted to rage-quit and throw my controller through the TV. (see youtube link. Time Index 3:45: to 3:54 and following The platforming in PoP TFS is probably the hardest I've ever done in terms of timing and fine-motor speed needed.

I’m a bit “platform challenged”’ so I was so trying how difficult it was in comparison to some games I have played. I had no problems with Uncharted or the Tomb Raider games. I have a PS5 but would use my PC if easier. Never played POP and I guess I probably should leave that one alone lol! If you hawent played Uncharted - i highly recommend playing all four games. - great characters, great stories, and a ton of fun to play!

If you hawent played Uncharted - i highly recommend playing all four games. - great characters, great stories, and a ton of fun to play! You're qquite welcome. I would highly recommend Jedi Fallen Order. Back in the early 1990s the only game company I bought games from was LucasArts....When the Dark Forces series came out in 1995 through to Jedi Academy in 2003 that series of games (especially Jedi Outcast) was the only game(s) I played for several years....Until PC tech and OSes got so advanced that it wouldn't run anymore (in it's original form). I was heartbroken when that happened. Then I discovered KOTOR.....later Dragon Age and then my favourite series, MASS EFFECT.....But Jedi Fallen Order is as much fun as I have with a STAR WARS game since Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcastt. It actually feels like STAR WARS. The Force is definitely strong with this one! And as I mentioned earlier, the platforming can be made easier by toggling the ability to automatically hold on to ledges etc. I hope you try it out and have fun with it!

So according to new released last night from AMD's GNC....Unfortunately for anyone who owns an Intel-based and/or Nvidia based PC, Jedi Survivor is optomized to work best with AMD CPUs and GPUs. Sucks.
Now obviously that means there won't be such things as DLSS or G-Sync (specifically) instead, we will be forced to use AMD's version of those things or not because they wouldn't even work with Nvidia GPUs. So we who own Intel/Nvidia products won't get those benefits.
But my big question is.....Does specific brand optimization (designed WITH AMD or WITH Intel/Nvidia) really matter in the BIG picture in terms of how the game will actually perform and run? OR is it mostly a marketing ploy for companies like Nvidia (with their DLSS and RTX which was used in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, for example....and looks gob-smackingly gorgeous) to push their tech on people and showcase it...?
Is the real-world performance really any different on AMD vs Intel/Nvidia? If you had an AMD based PC running the games maxed out at 4K side by side with an equally spec'd Intel/Nvidia PC....Would you really notice that much difference in appearance and performance?

Also tbh based off my last PC I'v efound AMD chips weaker than Intel ones anyway. As I've yett ohave a problem wit hm ycurrent PC playing eith er Intel preffered games or AMD ones.

It really depends on how much of a graphics person you are. The performance of the game I doubt would be that different but features like Nvidia's DLSS and AMD's FSR would be the difference and right now. My understanding and I might be wrong is that AMD's FSR will work on newer Nvidia cards, but DLSS won't work on AMD cards because it requires tensor cores which you can only find on Nvidia hardware. So there might be some difference because it is optimized versus not optimized, but I think for the majority of people they won't notice the difference.

Just finished playing Jedi Fallen Order for the.....I don't know how many times. I've lost count, but I have 140 hours of playing time logged. Such a great game! The graphics, the story, characters, gameplay...everything. It's one game that I actually don't have any gripes, complaints of nitpicks about. I haven't enjoyed any game this much since the ME OT, and as a STAR WARS game, well, that's gonna have to go all the way back to Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast and/or Jedi Academy...even the original Dark Forces.
Fallen Order actually FEELS like a proper STAR WARS game, and I can't wait till March 17th to play Jedi Survivor!

Just to add to the other fine replies, I think you are all missing the obvious in addition to what you've said. (I do think it is mostly marketing)
AMD makes the APUs for both Playstation and Xbox. As long as this is the case, it makes sense that more and more PC games will be optimized with team red in mind. Mind, I don't like Nvidia at all but I also am so wary of AMD GPU drivers that I have never owned one of their cards... so far.
Nvidia has made a lot of mistakes in the last 15 years, and have gotten away with it time and time again. It is catching up with them. I am most interested in what Intel is doing now, and also that AMD is working on a power-miser GPU.
I hope the next game has some changes to traversal, and a better executed minimap. I enjoyed the game, but was often frustrated by the map being nearly useless.

Is the real-world performance really any different on AMD vs Intel/Nvidia? If you had an AMD based PC running the games maxed out at 4K side by side with an equally spec'd Intel/Nvidia PC....Would you really notice that much difference in appearance and performance? I think you are confused about what G-sync is. It will always work if you have it with a Nvidia GPU. It has absolutely nothing to do with how a game is optimized. It's a monitor thing. Some games may have an issue with G-sync but that's due to Borderless window settings and not game optimization (and it's mostly fixed currently). As for a game being AMD optimized - that doesn't really mean much for Nvidia and Intel users. You still get FSR that can be used with any modern Nvidia GPU. And it will look just the same as with AMD GPU. Let's take AC Valhalla for example. It is AMD optimized, but the Nvidia GPUs are still beating their AMD counterparts in it. The difference in performance is just a bit smaller compared to other games, but that's it. It's not a magical thing that makes Nvidia GPUs suddenly being beaten down by a margin. Essentially - Nvidia/Intel owners won't feel much difference compared to other similar games, while AMD users may get about 10-20% tops better performance compared to if the game wasn't AMD optimized. It's all down to tuning the game engine to make better use of a certain architecture and resources, but the gains are rarely worth the worry. For example - in Jedi Survivor a 7900XTX might just barely edge a 4080 by around 5% in rasterization due to the AMD optimizations, but will still get destroyed by a 4090. And if Jedi Survivor has any form of RTX, the 4080 will stomp down the 7900XTX no matter what.

I find myself trolling the Web for any new news about Jedi Survivor... I am getting tired of waiting.
I dont want to rush time or wish my life away because time has a way of passing insanely quickly...But I am anxious for Friday March 17th. Im going to start my download as soon as I am able....probably 3 a.m. Saturday morning, March 18th, or maybe Friday night before I go to bed....maybe I can leave my computer running a bit longer than usual and download it while I sleep.
Except the problem with that is the RGB on the RAM, Cooler and Motherboard...bright lights keep Gizmo awake.
Decisions...sacrifices....🤔

A bit more time for everyone to get tired of playing with their wand. And move to playing with their saber.

EA Star Wars @eastarwarsStar Wars Jedi: Survivor Now Arrives April 28th If the delay really does aid in polishing the game and making it the best it can be at Launch, then I'm okay with it. By this time (or close to it) the Art of Jedi Survivor will be available to order to Amazon, s I won't have to wait too long. And maybe by then I may even have a new monitor (but even if I don't get the monitor that's okay).

Can’t wait! Loved the first game - So much in fact that this is the first game that I’ve preordered in about a decade!

Can’t wait! Loved the first game - So much in fact that this is the first game that I’ve preordered in about a decade! I was like that with the original Mass Effect. I bought it on a whim, not really knowing anything about it, but hearing amazing reviews about it on the 360. Then I spotted it on the shelf at my local bestbuy for PC at a price of 20.00 CAD, so I thought I'd check it out. I got it home, installed it....started playing, and right from the Intro I knew I would It and I did. Then as soon as I finished it, I said aloud "I'm definitely pre-ordering the Collector's Edition of the sequel when it comes out, as soon as pre-orders are available" And I did. And I don't regret it. I did the same for ME 3. In fact, ME 3 (being the end of the OT, and not knowing about Andromeda)....I went all out and bought the CE Strategy Guide (which is HUGE, it's a good 4 inches thick) and the ART of The Mass Effect Universe. So, Jedi Fallen Order....I pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe and also pre-ordered the Art book on Amazon.ca. I think in my first month of owning Fallen Order, I must have played it right through at least six or seven times and loved every second of it. And now with all of the footage I've seen for Survivor- well even before any of the footage was released, soon as they announced pre-orders, I made mine. Now with all the footage they've released I'm counting down the days till I can play it. I only wish is that for the Deluxe Edition, they would have released (or will release in the future) an OST, like they did for Fallen Order. Personally, any big budget, AAA game like this....if there is a Deluxe Edition available it should come with a soundtrack. Period. What was your favourite level of Fallen Order? Mine are Ilum and Kashyyyk. The first time I played through Dathomir, it scared the pants off me. I was on-edge throughout the entire level and it made me jump out of my skin more than once. Even now, after playing it for 150 hours...I still am put on edge every time I have to visit Dathomir. And the Giant Wyshocks creep me TFO too, because I hate spiders! So I dispatch them as quickly as possible. But I am still swept away by the sweeping vistas in the later parts of Kashyyykk. Just beautiful.

I really liked Zeffo. The mix of rocky terrain, indigenous and imperial architecture and the crashed Venator had a lot of variety and the storm background was cool, too. In Jedi Survivor, I am actually hoping for a city level. Anyone remember the Nar Shadaa level in Jedi Knight 2? It was frustrating as hell when you played it for the first time and jumped to your death every 3 meters but it was also glorious once you knew what you were doing. I am really hoping to see a spiritual successor to that level in JS with fabulous graphics.

I’d probably have to go left field and say Bogano! There is just something so peaceful about that world that I absolutely love. Plus the story of Cordova researching the Zeffo and just chilling on this world strong in the living force is just beautiful IMO. Althogh seeing fortress inquisitorius was also amazing - I may have marked out when it appeared again in Kenobi!
