Host must have been on other side of the world. With a dail-up modem. Half my shots were blanks, half my powers flew away. My vanilla sentinel with full tech armor, full fitness and cyclonic 3 was routinely taken down with one prime hit and a geth turret shot. One bomber went right down from GPR and IA3, the next took a full clip and still had armor. Total waste.

Pleasant. My BatSent kept up score-wise with a Destroyer and a Drell Assassin until the former started nuking spawns.

Rough.

Intriguing. What was the composition of your team.

I had a similar match not too long ago - 2 and 2 Humans - Valkyrie/Justicar and Adept/Fury Tag teams. We had Biotic combos going on on after another, like Garrus Fully auto rapid fire Widow (on the Leviathan DLC, eqiup Garrus with a Widow or Black Widow or really any gun that should not be fully auto) lolz.

I was the vanilla asari adept, then there was a fury, a valkyrie and the host was a batarian slasher.... the off-host fury and valkyrie suffered the worst of it.....I had the 15 revive medal in wave 9...which I have not gotten in about a year. Interesting thing about Garrus and the fully automatic widow/black widow..I have a campaign that is right at the leviathan, and I got those weapons maxed...going to try that later...thanks letting me know about it.

Lonely

Got tired of laggy pugs, decided to kick off a solo and hope for pugs to drop in. Got one pug around wave 4, left wave 6 or so, finished solo. Lucked out (?) with triple hacks. I didn't go down at all but the pug spoiled my 10WS medal. On the plus side I think I hit a personal high for points in a non-modded gold match. Also no lag I guess, except when the pug joined.

How is the new Gears 4 horde mode?  I can't wait to give it a go. 

Jumpscare

While on the loading screen, waiting to join the game, a sudden A-bomb explosion sound effect startled me. That'll be a Collectors GIP, then...

It's fun in the sense that it's a Horde Mode that you get to build Fortifications with a bunch of noobs who do things like yell at the Engineer for building Turrets and racing the Scout to the Power pickups, and the customizable Classes are a neat addition, but in falls short in several ways.  There is very little enemy diversity, maybe only 1/3 or even 1/4 of what was in Gears 3.  It also lacks pug backfill, so when people quit for whatever reason, unless you have someone on your Friends list who wants to join, you will never get a replacement pug.

To be fair, ME3MP had a rocky start too, but Gears 4 Horde is following Gears 3 Horde, which was pretty damn good.  If Gears 3 had dedicated servers, I'd probably prefer playing that.  It is one thing Gears 4 has in its favor.

Overall it is entertaining, but there is much room for improvement.

The match started with everyone talking about how they wanted to clear all 50 Waves, but from 20 onward, 1 by 1 they all started dropping out. By Wave 30 I was the only one left.

Not to be deterred, I went on and soloed this 50 Wave 5 player Horde Mode with just me, my Turret, and my trusty Sentry sidekick. Unfortunately, the Wave 50 Boss was the Carrier who came into my garage and wrecked everything. I couldn't afford another Turret so it was just me and my Sentry. We got a Brumak Boss and proceeded onward to victory and glory.



My guy's name is Minh Young Kim, but I call him Vin Young Diesel.



The killcount caps out at 45 but I probably had a lot more than that.

My last pug game was Ultra-Rare.

Me, Kpeter, Senor Tomate and GodovWar1 -a pug(!)- went Claymoar HSol on Plat Collector's asses. There was a lot of teammate coverage
and even the pretty much standard "King of the Hill" celebration

Highlight: A sneaky but stupid banshee tries to sync a bro and falls right into our Claymores. Looooooooool. Nice try, now go live for another 4 seconds. 3-shot Claymore is pure eargasm, so this needs to be an avi:
