Platinum.
I made a rare foray into Platinum. Thankfully, the host was a Juggy with some tanking power. The other two PUGs, one of which was obviously Bronze-level, kept dying over and over again. Somehow, we made it to extraction. Reminded me why I hate Platinum, though the game was sub-30 mins, it felt like a slog all the way.

They came, they fought, they died. Shepherded three plebs. They did all the right stuff but their kit was sadly low grade. Still, highest points to them for trying. We wiped at wave 10. Super Boring Saw a familiar name and couldn't recall why I made a notation. I realised why. He likes to missile spawns. Must remember harder he's a killjoy.

Medic! Took my jug out for a spin. Played medic to one guy who keeps dying over and over to geth; he keeps charging into the mobs. Hilarious Again on my jug. I couldn't help but laughed at the player on his AA, dying twice to PAs I ignited. Not purposely. I siege pulsed one to keep it away and he chose to charge in at the wrong moment. One the last wave, he ran in just as I took out a PA. BOOM! *wipes tears of laughter away* Super fun.

I don't think this needs a description, we've all faced this moment enough times. Solo was quicker, easier, less-stressful, more fun, too less consumables, and made more money per time. Fcking PUGs.

Shouting Out Came across two players with names : ME4IsAFail. ME4IsA* I forgot what's the other one. Rather distracting. They weren't so hot in the match though and it's geth. I dropped out midway because everyone kept dying. I tried to revive but ended up dying too many times. KillJoy Had a collector match with three asari on my AA. The host was blazing around, biotic booming everything in sight. At wave 3, killing targets, he missile the targets. I don't see the point of it when the group was holding up well, we could get the targets easily. I was setting off biotic combos along with him now and then. We were on the second target, setting off combos when he whipped out the missile. I just dropped out. There was no reason to missile, nobody was dropping like flies. If he wanted to be top dog, it's all his.

I may not agree with your issue with missiling spawns, but I understand it. I just cannot fathom why missiling targets is a problem, in my circle, it's generally considered good form, as it will often switch to target to something small and quicker to kill (like switching Collectors target to a-bombs, or Cerberus Atlas to Guardian). If you start quitting matches everytime somebody uses a missile, you're just going to be wasting consumables and time.

If you start quitting matches everytime somebody uses a missile, you're just going to be wasting consumables and time. I do not mind the use of missiles if there is a problem achieving the objective. If the group tried and failed a few times and the clock is ticking away. Or if the rest just didn't seem to care about the objective or were stuck battling other mobs and couldn't get to the objective. My point to my quitting that match is; the group clearly showed they could handle the mobs. It was wave 3, the numbers were not that numerous. No one was going down, everyone was doing their part. I was enjoying the challenge of getting the target, in the midst of a scion and two collectors. It was not difficult with reave, etc. With combos, the target would go down quickly. The host and I were hitting the group, setting off combos when he just missile. Needlessly. There was plenty of time left since he also missile the first target. The whole point of the MP objectives; work with other players, enjoy the challenge of achieving the goal. I like it best when other players, especially those who could missile but chose not to, cooperate. I have such matches. They're enjoyable. We all knew what to do. We came together to do it.

This just sounds like the reasoning for why PUGs don't use ANY consumables in matches, and just get stomped out in every wave. The game's meant to be a challenge, right? If the other three/two/one player/s can't handle it without me, why are they on this difficulty?

The ones who could not handle the mobs and persistently get stomped usually are newcomers. Usually. I've come across a few exceptions. I have enjoyable matches with players who could missile but chose not to. They're well kit out (I saw this in the lobby) and were clearly not newcomers. They elected to achieve target objectives using the skills of the avatar they were playing and cooperate with team members who displayed that willingness to work together. That's all I'm going to say about this.

Clueless? Reaper match with two players biotic charging mobs. The thing is, no one was casting warp, etc so they set off no biotic combos. I wondered if they had no idea or just simply trying out the classes. So in the next match, I switch over to AA. The host retained his krogan vanguard and another player switch to human. They seemed to realise I was warping the mobs and kind of tried to coordinate with me. But there're hits and misses since mobs inevitably start to flank me and I had to deal with them so I couldn't warp the mobs they were attacking. They ended up dying numerous times because, no biotic combos and they were right in the middle of s***. At the last, no one alive at extraction though three of us were at the LZ but it was an extraction. I tried to revive one and a PA ran up to me. Six secs to go. Idiotically, I melee him. I had no idea why. BOOM!

Played a few games today, my first in weeks, and it felt FUCKING GOOD! Nothing outstanding, although one game I cheezed it as the Raider AIU was heller fun.
It's funny how quickly you get 'indoctrinated' though, because I found I kept using the MEA button set-up on occasions. I was pressing 'Y' to melee and revive and using the Analog stick to run. Took me a while to return to normal.

"This game is actually FUN to play!", "Dammit, I keep trying to jetpack places and revive with Triangle(Y for XBox)", "Combos actually do damage in this game!", "That game was so much fun! Man I love these characters!"

First game since 3/21 and gold-collectors all of a sudden felt like a lot easier than they used to. Even with a kit that still needs som levelling. BUT: Not once did I try to use my jetpack. :-)

Modded. Dropped into a Cerberus gold match. The host was a geth infil, the other player was a TS. I was the third to come in and the final fourth that appear was yet another infil. Ok. I thought something was off when at wave 3, objective was disabled device. I was at the other end of the map. I could see the host was at the first target. I got ready to run to the second. Atlas destroyed; target destroyed. ??? Wasn't it disabled device??? Second objective was up. I looked. The objective reticle was squared on a Atlas but it was listed as disabled device. As I looked on, the host, a GI, ran up and bop the Atlas with his Hurrican in about five seconds flat. I left.

I dunno why but I found that amusing. Yeah, well, when you have two BSNers and another invited friend, Gold can feel like Silver, even with a dirtnapper. And yes, the PUG in question is a lolsilver PUG, recognized their name from some silver PUGs on one of my alt accounts. I ignored the lack of eq in the lobby because it was a Fury, but I knew it should've been a sign. It was my fault for not kicking them, I guess.
