There are a few but most could be dead. I really despises Petrice but its very unlikely that she will ever return in a DA game. Didn't Petrice die in DA2? You can join/spare her if you play as an aggressive Hawke. We don´t know if she (also Ser Varnell) had survived Anders church bombing but for Act 3 well she was exiled from the chantry. Edit: Maybe this could be a good (Hrungr) Twitter question?

Wow, I really didn't know what. In my games, she's always killed by the qunari, LOL.

I did, but I never saw any reason to side with her. Even my very prick Hawke would be pissed by all that backstabbing.

Don't want to see;
ANY companion that could be dead (although I've resigned myself to the likelihood of Sten making an appearance).
Other than that - I'm relaxed, although the Awakening crew mostly annoyed me, so maybe not see any of them.

SOLAS!
Also the Inquisitor and whoever's Divine. I wouldn't mind seeing Leliana if she's not Divine.

What about Shale (I don´t think its that easy to really kill), Velanna (She also can cheated death) and the Architect ? The Architect isn´t a companion but i don´t believe that he is really dead. He could have survived like Corypheus.

Dao: most of cast with exception of sten I would also welcome Shale. Her retransformation into a dwarf would make an interessing side quest. That's not gonna happen.
Next best option is locking her in a coal bin for the duration of the game.

I would be quite happy to never see again Sera. Not even to punch her in the face. I really don't want to see her again.

She was always so annoying and I couldn't understand half of what she said. I don't care about seeing Cole either. I didn't like him much, I feel that to understand him and his story you must have read the comics where he appears, and it pissed me off.

Morrigan. Had enough of her in DAI.
Alistair. It seems like every game he must have a forced cameo appearance. Overrated, Gary Stu character.
Lace Harding. Another overrated character with the most bland personality ever. I did like her more in the Jaws of Hakkon DLC though.

Merril lwas a bland character in DAO but Bioware really fleshed her out in DA 2. If Harding had enough screentime like DA 2 Merrill she also have the potential to be an interessing character / companion.

Hawke. I really hope they resolve Weisshaupt offscreen and let us headcanon the rest. I have no interest in seeing them ruin Hawke a second time.

The only reason why I would want to see Vivienne again is if I get to kill her so she doesn't start another war and undo all my hard work for the mages.

If there is a believable reason why someone I thought was dead because of my actions in a previous game might still be alive, that's fine. I don't have an issue with Sten possibly being alive if left in Lothering because we never saw him die. It was assumed he died at the hands of the darkspawn. Leliana, though - I didn't buy that. Velanna is one of the Awakening crew and as such, would just prefer not to see her again, regardless of possibly dead or not.

I don’t want to see any of the characters I didn’t like. A story with only characters we like is boring.
And the worst reception a character can get from readers/players/viewers is a shrug.
Also, since every character is disliked by someone, Bioware giving people that would mean that no old characters come back.
Which actually comes close to what I would like to see: mostly new characters, and only new companions, with as few as possible old ones thrown in for continuity. I wish to have new companions, interact with people I haven't seen before and get to know them, and all that with a new protagonist of course, and somewhere as far away from culturally as possible from Orlais, Ferelden and the Dales. So my answer to the question is: almost all of them.

I think there is a difference between a character that one dislikes though for personal reasons and a character one dislikes for personal reasons AND cruddy writing. See Oghren and Isabella for me, I thought they were horribly written and I wanted them off my screen

I contest your statement that the writing was cruddy though. The character was just crude. Isabela, too, in her own way. They were stereotypes, yes, but there are people like that IRL, so why shouldn't there be any in stories?

Granted, but I think the benefit for characters is that they can change and evolve which...I felt neither Isabella or Oghren did. I mean I *know* that Isabella can but I've never experienced it first hand so she will always be the one who takes the tome of koslun and says deuces. And sure, there are flat characters but then they have to be interesting and neither Isabella or Oghren was interesting enough to me to consider worthy of much consideration or much of a desire to want to see them in the future... Which doesen't mean they couldn't do something interesting with their character later on and 'redeem' them though. I am open to pretty much for whatever as long as they can do something good with it like with Jack and with Liara...to somewhat of an extent.

Personally i'm happy to have characters i don't like as long as 1) there are other characters i like 2) i get to push the buttons of that character(loved pushing Sebastian's buttons even if i don't like him) Characters like Harding who bore me to tears are the ones i want off my screen.

Or even a grey warden. He should slip into anonymity and never appear again. Took the words right out of my mouth. I could also live without ever seeing Leliana again. I've never disliked her, but her characterization has been all over the place through all three games, and she started getting on my nerves in Inquisition. The ending where she turns out to be a lyrium ghost feels fitting enough for her, and I'd prefer it if they stopped trying to shoehorn her into more roles.
