But my Nossie has been an asshole to women his whole life, so no mercy. I play him like a selfish middle-aged manchild, the kind of leather-jacket-wearing spiky-haired machismo douchebag that some teenage girls are just too young to spot as a loser, which has been his main source of affection as an adult. Until one of his erstwhile conquests turned Nosferatu decided to pay him a visit and take revenge for dumping her once she turned 18. Kind of inspired by Will's prick of a dad from Stranger Things, only even sleazier and rather more violent. Bloodlines reputation preceded it and I had some experiences with tabletop WoD, so for my character concept I went in guns blazing. Figuratively, that is; my Tremere was supposed to be the complete opposite of the usual RPG protagonist: cowardly, selfish, and erratic. Physical skills were nil, and instead I focused on stealth, hacking, charm, and a whole lot of lying to everyone. A duplicitous nerdy punk whose inhibitions had broken down after being turned into a monster, and he just wanted to wreck shit up and mess with the band of sociopaths he was now stuck with. He was as nice to humans as a parasite who feeds on their blood can be, and his sensibilities ran with the Anarchs, but really he was mostly out for himself. It was different and it was awesome, but it completely broke down when the mandatory dungeons started rolling in and I was forced to play a generic badass. Kinda feel like the game left me hanging, actually, so I'll probably go for a somewhat modified version of that same concept in Bloodlines 2. I might switch clans, though. Depending on how they are portrayed, Toreador or Malkavian could be better fits than Tremere. This time we've got some time before we've got to commit anyway.

You're right that the first half of the game is way more open to different character approaches. And yeah, our characters being able to actually choose which clan to enter is going to change things up a bit. I think I'll be most inclined to play a Malkavian if they aren't written quite as ludicrously as the PC is in the first game. But deliberately adopting insanity in return for dubious insight is a pretty hard sell. As is the Nosferatu deal. You'd have to be really hungry for wisdom or eager to hide from the world to go into either of those with your eyes wide open. Which is unfortunate, because they're my favorites. I guess it'll all depend on how each clan is presented to us.

I'm excited about Bloodlines 2. Loved the first game and never thought, there would be a sequel.
I've read, that you play a thinblood, I hoped that this time, yould play the Sabbat and the independent clans.

About being a thin blood, I like it. I like to start as a nobody, it gives more freedom for the character developement I think. Also it is great news that Malkavians will be in the game. I really liked the complete nutcase style of playing in VtMB, it felt like a fresh way to approach rpg This guy has a Malkavian flair imo, is it the crazy look in his eyes or the way he holds the hatchet, I dunno.
Malkavians are the best. Nowadays, I always play Bloodlines as a Malkavian
Oh and I hope, we will get to know, what became of Gary Golden, Mitnick and the other Nosferatu - I liked them a lot. Gary is one of my favorite characters in Bloodlines

"We of course have no wish to alienate players and we've been made aware that some physically are not able to enjoy first person due to motion sickness or similar.. I think at this point it might be a little late however I'd still urge you to make a post to our forums stating your concerns, it may still affect the game!"
Not really sure what "it may effect the game" looks like, but its dialogue.

Doesn't matter if they have dialogue with someone at Paradox, it is too late.
If the game is being build around a first person perspective adding a third one would mean creating the game again. They simply don't have the time for that and i doubt they also have the money to afford this and a release delay to deliver a game with both kinds of view.
The text you quoted even say so.

Eh, I have no dog in this particular fight. I'd be fine with first or third person. That said, props to them for at least being willing to listen, and encouraging potential customers to speak up, instead of, you know, shutting down their forums...

There are steps they can take to avoid or minimize motion sickness, like adjustment to the field of view or head/weapon bob toggle.
No wonder. From what i saw their fans do seem more level headed and less prone to spam or target harassment there.

I'll repeat it again, I have motion sickness (a bad case of it too) and I play first person games since the mid 90s. I just need to disable headbob and motion blurs (and sometimes other stupid special FX like depth of fields, well anything that cause blurring really) and adjust the FOV. Sometimes adjust mouse speed too. I even have to do it in 3rd person games. Saying that, don't do what I did this weekend which is climbing High Hrothgar in Skyrim while trying to walk over every steps...it was a bad idea (resulted in headbobbing). I'm excited about Bloodlines 2. Loved the first game and never thought, there would be a sequel. I've read, that you play a thinblood, I hoped that this time, yould play the Sabbat and the independent clans. Why would anyone wants to play as the Sabbat? They are off to the Middle East to fight the Antediluvians in 5e. A few stayed behind, but considering some Lasombra are trying to join the Camarilla now, they probably don't have much power base left. In fact, everyone is trying to join the Camarilla or the Anarchs (they officially split) since the Second Inquisition started. Paradox already announced they would add more clans as post-launch free DLCs. If the game is popular, they might cover most of them.

What does Thinblood imply. Right now the whole thing appears to be more or less a shooter?

What does Thinblood imply. Right now the whole thing appears to be more or less a shooter? Thinblood is a vampire of 14th and 15th generation. They cannot access higher levels of disciplines (they can get up to 4 and 3 respectively; I'm not sure how it is in 5th edition of VTM), they are not generally accepted into clans (or they don't even resemble their sire's clans, making them Caitiff as well). Basically the lowest class of vampires in this setting. Some vampires see them as an omen of apocalypse, others just see them as an really embarrassing dead-end of vampires as spiecies (because 15th generation cannot sire a new vampire). Original VTMB wasn't a shooter, it was a RPG. You could use blunt force to progress (unfortunately you had to by the end of the game), but generally the game allowed you to talk your way out of most situation or just sneak around. Those routes were rewarded more often as well. Being a vampire and playing their politics is about being deceptive and manipulative after all. Making it just a shooter would really be a waste of good setting and original tabletop material.

What does Thinblood imply. Right now the whole thing appears to be more or less a shooter? davesin explained it pretty well. The only thing I'd add for someone unfamiliar with the setting is that "generation" measures how far removed a vampire is from biblical Caine, the first vampire, cursed by god to live in darkness and drink the blood of his own kin. Caine is considered the one and only first generation vampire, all vampires sired directly by him are the second generation and so on. The further removed from Caine a vampire is, the more the power his blood is diluted and the less potential such a vampire has. Generation 13 is the furthest away from Caine a vampire can be and still have access to the full disciplines of his or her clan, and any generation higher than that is considered a thin blood, a clanless weakling essentially. I have a PDF of the "beta-version" of V5.0 of the pen and paper rules which includes an introductory scenario. In this revised setting, the Inquisition seems much stronger than before and has access to elite operatives trained in fighting vampires. In the demo adventure, the players had to constantly dodge Inquisition-led GSG-9-patrols in Berlin, who were aware of how to fight and kill "Schwarzkörper" ("black bodies", from the color of vampires on their thermal sights) while massacres caused by vampires were covered up as terrorist attacks.

Is it still playing a "Vampire" game as a thinblood, is what I'd like to know. Sure, you'd still have vampiric powers that put you squarely above humans as a thin blood. Ideally they will have the concept of Diablerie in the game (though I have no idea how that works in V5.0) and let you lower your generation by taking the blood of more powerful vampires, essentially losing the thin blood status in the process. I don't want to imagine the backlash they'd suffer if they named a game "Bloodlines 2" and then made it mostly a shooter or brawler...

I think this would be the best timing to continue our pen and paper. Yes, no? I mean we could have a short run just before the release of the game to get in the proper mood for Bloodlines 2. I do not want to think I made my character all for nothing...

PCGamer article highlights from Resetera. It mention being able to equip two melee and two ranged weapons. This means all the previews saying weapons were temporary were wrong. Some talk about masquerade violations and joining a "masquerade violation clean-up crew" to gain back your debt. Trying to make each clans as distinct in play style as possible.
