Very interested in this one and will be keeping a close eye on it as it gets closer to release. A couple of points about what's been discussed so far:
• I'm willing to give the (mostly) first person perspective nature a go as games likes BioShock and Dishonored didn't bother me when playing; and I'm going to be playing Cyberpunk 2075 in a similar fashion anyways.
•At first I was weary of the whole "thin blood" thing, but the more I thought about it, and the more articles I read the more it makes sense. Having your vampire rise up from nothing to ascend the heights (or depths) of the various clans as you amass more power and influence makes such a choice very appropriate.
• I suppose I'm in the minority here, but I actually applaud the lack of PC voiceover. Try and make a game with a quarter of the reactivity this title will demand based on a character's choice of clan, gender, morality, discipline use, etc with a voiced protagonist. Word budgets are a thing in games, and I personally don't want to see over half of it dedicated to essentially hearing my PC saying multiple variations on "I should go", not when it comes at the expense of fleshing out the game world.
• Political talk…. As long as it's tastefully done, and balanced, then I welcome the nuance it can bring to the setting. Vampire wheeling and dealing, back room meetings, etc all of these things are what help define the nature of the Masquerade. However, assigning moral judgments on certain aspects of this world based on real world topics is going to be... problematic to say the least. This is the World of Darkness we're talking about, horrible stuff happens all the time here that's why it's called the World of DARKNESS; normal social/political issues aren't going to fly in a direct comparison here because this is not the real world. And that's even before you get into the supernatural elements this setting has.
• Vampires are monsters in that they are literal parasites that have to feed off the blood and suffering of others to survive. Now this doesn't mean that you can't have a character who struggles to remain as human as possible given the nature of their existence, but the game has to remember who these beings are. Personally, I am hoping that the game will allow us to embrace our nature without morally chiding us for "Being Bad". Human issues are for humans; we're not going to be playing as a human.
I can remember one of my favorite Vampire characters I made for the table top. He was a Tzimice (the flesh/bone crafting clan) and rather than following the Path of Humanity, he instead devoted himself to the Path of the Other, in becoming something alien; outside the experience of what humans and the kindred who still strove to be like them, called normal. This didn't make my character evil however; he wasn't walking around like a mindless monster and/or kicking puppies in his pursuit of ascendance; rather it made him and his goals different to the average Cannite. Orange/Blue morality to Black/White morality if anything.
I hope that something like this is possible in this game. Pipe dream here, but it would be amazing if clan Tzimice was one of the DLC clans Paradox plans on adding to the game.

About being a thin blood, I like it. I like to start as a nobody, it gives more freedom for the character developement I think. Also it is great news that Malkavians will be in the game. I really liked the complete nutcase style of playing in VtMB, it felt like a fresh way to approach rpg This guy has a Malkavian flair imo, is it the crazy look in his eyes or the way he holds the hatchet, I dunno.

I doesn't seem his style. But then again, I am not a professional connoisseur of the World of Darkness lore.

Makes sense. Why use a day/night cycle in a vampire game? Unless you totally change the way the game is played during daylight to accomodate the fact the vampire can't walk under the Sun.

I liked how they solved day/night cycle it in Vampyr. It's always night, but you have to sleep in your bed in order to spend your XP. Then you get a message about changes in London. It makes you feel like the time really flows, which was not a case in VTMB where you have a haven, but it's just a place where you read your e-mails. But it's pretty minor thing, no big deal for me.

One article mentions some weirdly arbitrary powers you can start with before getting into the Clan disciplines. Checking up on the new core rulebook for the tabletop game, the "Thin-Blood Alchemy" discipline seems to support those. Simple telekinesis and levitation are both covered by elixers you can create and ingest, albeit not at the first level of the power, and a few powers have mist themes, although they seem more intended for creating mist than turning into it as the article implied, which has traditionally been Gangrel territory. So it seems like they're trying to follow the game semi-faithfully. I'm not opposed to starting as a thin-blood at all, although I hope it doesn't mean that the Clans, once you join them, will be half-assed. Having a group with a power structure and a place in the world to cling to and protect you and define yourself by is a pretty big part of the setting. I'd prefer not to spend the entire game feeling like an outsider looking in to vampire society rather than trying to carve out a piece of it for myself. Don't mind the first-person gameplay either. I found it quite immersing in the first game. And I'll love it if they skip player voiceover. It's always been a terrible idea in dialogue-focused RPGs. It's just too prohibitive, and the voice-acting is seldom good enough to justify it anyway. Few things more annoying than choosing a strong or complex reaction to something only for your character to mutter a short, ambiguous stream of vague platitudes. Yuck. Back to the old days, please. My biggest concern so far really is the political angle the devs seem to be trying to go. A schizophrenic, overly judgmental and preachy vampire game really, really doesn't sound appealing. The rulebook has just enough of that to make you worry that the writers are either trying to impose college campus logic on a wider setting, or are so steeped in it themselves that they don't even hear it. Which isn't the sort of thing I want to deal with when I buy a product of any kind, much less a gritty RPG. Still, if they pull themselves together and leave it up to the player to engage with that stuff or not, it's going to be awesome.

Also, for those of you who, like me, play the first game religiously every few years at least, or who remembers your last time around well: Since this is a direct sequel, what sort of Bloodlines 1 playthrough are you going to regard as your canon going into it?
Personally, I'm planning an Independent Nossie leg-breaker playthrough at the end of the year in anticipation.

Why use a day/night cycle in a vampire game? Unless you totally change the way the game is played during daylight to accomodate the fact the vampire can't walk under the Sun. A day/night cycle could make the game more challenging, as you'd have to remember when dawn is approaching and learn to rely on sewers and access tunnels to get about (like Nosferatu) during the daylight hours. But I imagine that would also be extremely frustrating for most players, so it's probably better not to have it.

Crazy times when we are live in a world where Vampire Bloodlines is a thing. By the way could be the female voiceactress in the trailer Nika Futterman (Velvet Velour / VV) ? Also i must insist that some Gangrel make a magnificent return. Last but not least here is my link: www.bloodlines2.com/?ref=5b67726bde43

This will be interesting. First was a game with a mountain of issues, perhaps not even a good game overall( hell, it took years with patches to become even functional), but with a really rabid, devoted cult following. Not many vampire rpgs around, and the setting is interesting. I expected this to be done by Obsidian, this studio has no real experience with making rpgs, so far only did "middling" games, going by scores/sales. But it's a good thing we're seeing more a "AA/A" rpg developers, kind of tired of old school/isometric type.

I expected this to be done by Obsidian, this studio has no real experience with making rpgs, so far only did "middling" games, going by scores/sales. Hardsuit Labs haven't released a single game yet actually. They only worked on ports (very well received ones from what I've read) and other contractual work for AAA studios (normal jobs for new independent studios). They also maintained Blacklight:Retribution, from Zombie Studios, which was released 3 years before the studio existed. The two owners and about 15 devs are from Zombie Studios (the owners cherry picked them), but they are now 82 developers. I don't think anything done by Zombie Studios has much to do with Hardsuit Labs these days. Also, the creative director is ex-Obsidian, the lead narrative designer is ex-Troika/ex-Obsidian and they hired Chris Avellone (another ex-Obsidian). And I trust Hardsuit Labs technical aptitude more than Obsidian.

I would go independent, but Damsel, even though she's a communist, always gets me on their side (the fact she's voiced by the same VA as ME's Jack probably helps). And I feel bad about flipping the bird at Nines.

The dev's desire to lecture in regard to politics doesn't appeal to me, everything else mostly does. I've always wanted a modern vampire setting. The other issue that no one brings up is how inexperienced the team is - it's a new team and even the history of the people who formed this team shows a very shaky track record. My expectations are firmly in check.

And I feel bad about flipping the bird at Nines. Oh yes, Damsel. I love her too, communist or not. Nines and Jack are experienced cynics, they can take it, but my least favorite thing about playing both sides in that game is weaseling my way into Damsel's good graces and making her feel guilty for treating me like dirt in the beginning even though I really am selling every word she says to Strauss and Lacroix. That feels truly shitty. But my Nossie has been an asshole to women his whole life, so no mercy. I play him like a selfish middle-aged manchild, the kind of leather-jacket-wearing spiky-haired machismo douchebag that some teenage girls are just too young to spot as a loser, which has been his main source of affection as an adult. Until one of his erstwhile conquests turned Nosferatu decided to pay him a visit and take revenge for dumping her once she turned 18. Kind of inspired by Will's prick of a dad from Stranger Things, only even sleazier and rather more violent. Independent is actually the only ending I haven't played yet. I usually either go with Strauss' Camarilla or, as you say, the Anarchs because they really are good guys. Most of the time.
