Well, after about completing 50% of early access with the Barbarian, I must say that I enjoy myself much more than I thought I will. My preferences will always lie in playing caster classes, but I must applaud Larian for making the barb so much satisfying to play. It's the little things, the animations, the rage scream, the barb intimidation dialogue choices, it's tons of fun. I do must say that there is some sort of power creep with each class introduced, Druid is stronger than Cleric, then Sorc is stronger than Wizard, and Barb is stronger than Fighter... Hopefully the former will get some of their own reasons to play them.

I've been reading some feedbacks on the Barbarians and people are really loving it. In fact, a lots of them are saying it's better than the tabletop version. Better totems, no GM screwing you over for intimidating people and you can throw all the things.
I might have to play one. It also make the starting classes feels a bit boring in comparison I think. Druid and Sorcerer also feels to have more integration than the original starting classes like Barbarian does.

Larian's currently working on Baldur's gate itself, building out the city, and also filling out D&D's spell library and implementing its remaining classes. Then there's time-consuming polish, which is why he announced that Baldur's Gate 3 won't be fully finished until 2023.

I mean, I think we all knew gnomes were going to happen sooner or later because they're in the Player's Handbook. I'll be shocked if we don't get half-orcs by release as well. Dragonborn might be sliiiightly harder to implement, but they did lizardpeople in DOS2 already so they can probably manage that, too.
