Larian Studios is Gathering Their Party @larianstudiosWe've just released Hotfix #3 'Theft, Death & Hubris' for Baldur's Gate 3. A number of issues have been addressed in this hotfix, and we've shared a Frankenstein of data. Take a look at the details! store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/1086940/view/2896336186738209915One important thing this hotfix has solved is the resolution upon the death of Gale. Those who’ve let Gale die may have found that an important item is missing, which is required. That’s back! So, which was it? "K'ha'trach'ash'ssji", "K'ha'ash'ssji'trach", or the easier to pronounce “K'ha'ssji'trach'ash”? Only Gale lovers will know. Also, we fixed an error where people were stealing from merchants by directly equipping the stolen items out of their inventory. Hubris! It’s in the title! We still currently recommend you play the game on DX11 mode if you experience frequent crashing, or graphical errors. But they should be reduced now. The next big patch will include a host of fixes for cinematics and animation as well as UI glitches, and a community update diving into the game’s launch. Don’t forget to read the EULA Better the Devil you do know, eh. FAQ attached here, updated with new workarounds and known issues: larian.com/support/baldur-s-gate-3Fixes attached y’all: Fix for crash related to showing a move preview with an AoO when in combat. Fix for crash related to surfaces requiring concentration. Fix for crash related to drag and drop of items in the trade inventory. Gale's Scroll of Resurrection is now correctly added to the player's inventory. This hotfix is now live on Steam, will be coming soon to GOG and Stadia a little bit later.

Damn, what I wouldn't give for a convenient merchant to sell off stuff to, then head back out. I believe Sven mention merchants in the camp. No idea if that's in the EA or not. There is a place that looks to be for crafting, but he said the game didn't really have crafting so that's probably for a another service provider. I doubt we only have one of those. The catch, you can probably kill or miss those service providers before you can recruit them.

I've seen crafting stations in the world, so it looks like we'll be able to do the crafting (at least some of it). I've already repaired one (spider-slaying) spear, and blueprints for other weapons.

About crafting, I picked up a brain jar from the nautiloid and when I click an anvil, it automatically equips it (I can't remembeevthe proper name of the brain jar atm). I haven't tried combining it yet with anything yet though.

I think he meant no crafting like in DOS2. It will probably be limited to repairing "quest" related items and stuff like that.

This happened to me because he was shot off the ledge by a goblin knockback arrow and died. Then a funny thing happened which you have to experience it yourself. Anyway, something is supposed to be looted from his body but his corpse gives off a deadly miasma so I didn't bother looting him but used a resurrect scroll.

I started a dwarf ranger and I don't like it that much. Picked up Gale, Shadowheart and Lae'zel and went straight to the grove. The entrance fight was easier than the first time I did it. The gobbos had critical miss a few times in a row on the NPCs, lol. 1. I like dual wielding, but meleing isn't that great at low levels without a shield/buff and the dwarf cover less distance. Ranged is the way to go for race with little legs. 2. At vendors, having no charisma on the character with the stuff in his inventory is just plain annoying. And my character is always the King Hoarder. Actually, I think the inventory should be party-wide, except for like 10 slots for personal items/quick slots for potions/scrolls. 3. Speak with animals was way more fun on my Warlock who can have it on 100% of the time without wasting a spell slot. There is a lots of animals. 4. I miss Eldritch Blast.... 5. I died at the helm section, killed by the cambion commander. The first time I had no issue with that, but I did it twice no and both time the Mindflayer almost died and I didn't take that much time killing the imps to get to the front of the ship. I'm not sure what changed (outside me having no Us this time around), although the Mindflayer reads level 6 when it should be a level 7. Maybe I should try a long legged fighter. Or make another Warlock. Kinda weird, as I don't like Warlock in the pnp.

Game needs level camera like Xcom 2 where you can see what's on the next level. I've have had a goblin shooting from the upper catwalk in the hall and I couldn't get the camera to "look" up there so I had no idea of its precise location.

I remade my Ranger. Half-Elf. Ex-criminal bounty hunter urban tracker ranger. People can be monsters to track too. Not idea how much BH bonus will be helpful, but I learned you can knock unconscious people/monsters instead of killing them.

Unlike DOS2 where you can just put things in backpacks, you have to open the packs in order to put things in. I hope they change it. Also, I hope they would add in the feature of labelling the backpacks because I like to throw things like keys, notes, etc into backpacks so the inventory is tidy. If you have the key to a door, it's used automatically without having to put it in main inventory.
Also, allowing player to add in notes to the map like DOS2.

Same here when I realised I did not choose a background for the first ranger. Found a secret chest along the coast, in an alcove below Asterion's (sp?) location. Edit. oooo,a ruby worth 1600 gold!

This is the worst dead corpse taffy pull ever; the female archer died and her body became that weird triangular thingy. I had to move the camera around just to see the goblin mage under that blasted "cover".

That 1600 ruby is selling for 600! wtf, no way!!!! You thief! Going to throw the wares into the camp chest until I get a better exchange rate. The exchange rate stink everywhere. They aren't using 5e price/economy system, this feels like DOS2. Charisma does improve price, a bit, if you dump everything on the person with the highest one. But they also aren't following 5e prices at all. Basic leather armor cost like 500 gp when it should be 10 gp per 5e, they price the basic armor at the level of uncommon/rare magic item. The ruby is a 5000gp gem in the DM book. It's like they think players will do too much content and make too much money, but 5e is a generous system (FR being high magic even more) and here everything is overpriced while everything you sell is underpriced. You're basically better off stealing stuff. Makes more money that way (lots of save cumming thought, because every attempts has a DC).

Damn... wasn't expecting the goblin territory to be quite so sprawling. The village, the main camp, the castle, the spider caves, a route to the Underdark, etc. I still haven't finished exploring. Well, good thing there are vendors in there to sell back the stuff I looted from them. There's a surprising variety in goblin designs too, it was definitely more than I was expecting. And they do employ strategy, though I noticed they have no qualms about friendly fire. Even the wargs were deliberately crashing barrels to set fires, even though they'd obviously be caught in the blast too. And speaking of variety... Finally made it camp... While I like the verticality in the game, the camera system needs work. I keep trying to look "up", even though I know I can't. Walking up slopes just feels the worst with the restricted view ahead of you. And if you have elevated enemies you have to switch to the big overhead view just to see them. You're basically better off stealing stuff. This.

I feel pretty rich now, I slaughtered all the goblins at their camp and made bank killing the halfling trader, stealing all her gold and weapons in the process etc. made over five thousand gold. Also apparently Shadowheart likes to watch you get it on with your companions when it came for some alone time with Astarion at the celebration after you rescue Halsin, during the scene under construction I got a disapproval from Shadowheart. lmao I also raised some lady's husband from the dead after killing auntie ethel and handed him over to his wife along with the control wand. I feel like I should've put him out of his misery but technically it's what the wife asked for, she was so dumb imo oh well. I have to say even with all the bugs I'm having a lot of fun. Hrungr Can you keep The baby owlbear if you kill the mother? Answer: Yes. If you kill just the mother and spare the baby, it will reappear later in the goblin village. They use it for a "chicken run" game which you can play. After you can use either Animal Handling or Speak with Animals to convince it to go to your camp. However, you'll have to deal with the goblins first before it'll make its way there. I've dealt with goblins, and you get a little scene after saying he's on his way there, but it doesn't look like has made it here yet. The dog took a couple of days as well.

So Ranger #2. - I'm finding Animal Handling works quite well instead of using speak with animals (Speak with animals works well on a crazy GOO Warlock thought). - I had a most chaotic evil conversation with Astarion. - Looks like the game is spaced so you use long rest after every encounters, less or more. I think you miss out on companion conversations otherwise. - I discovered hidden goblins and fought harpies...in the same region I had previously visited, I just missed a few nooks. - I did the ruined Chapel backward (from bottom to top). - I'm quite enjoying Hunter Ranger (picked Colossus Killer or something like that). - I missed out on approval/disapproval in the Owlbear cave because the fight didn't ends with my character. *feels robbed*

I have pretty much played the intro with every class by now, except cleric. I honestly don't know what to play. I like the ranger the best, but I'd prefer to multiclass that into a wizard after level 3. Just to get all the good stuff of ranger (favoured enemy, favoured terrain, fighting style) to make a wizard that can also shoot very well with a bow. Fighter seems the most obvious choice though because front line warriors are severely lacking in the beginning. Anyway, I don't know Knowing that extra ability points are a feat you take and not something you just get after 4 levels also makes life hard for a min maxer like me It kinda makes a +2 racial ability score pointless, cause your max score is always going to be uneven. This also makes humans ridiculously good from a min-max perspective. I don't like playing humans. I'm already a human in real life

Anyway, I don't know Knowing that extra ability points are a feat you take and not something you just get after 4 levels also makes life hard for a min maxer like me They made that part work how it does in 5e. The rest of the feats are actually an optional rule.
