Yes, I dumped things on the two chairs to get the door open but I was expecting a trap to go off when I went in. Nothing. There is... ... a pressure plate past the door with the two chairs, but it's small so even if you don't detect it, you could miss it. Oh that. I saw it but I avoided it. Does it do anything besides wounding / killing?

So I got to the area where the humping occurred. I decided not to interrupt the action but Wyll glued himself to the door. No matter how I hopped onto the MC and tried to walk away, Wyll insisted the door was fascinating so the cutscene kept repeating. I became fedup, took control of him and pulled the party away. Entered the goblin controlled village and killed the mini gobby boss by standing on the other slope of the roof. Oddly, combat did not take place until I killed her. I guess the MC wasn't in LOS of her gobby archer. Cleared the goblins, then investigated the area behind shabby door. Took down cracked wall but backed out when Shadowheart warned about the webs. Ok, no, I don't want to handle spiders yet.

After restarting so many times I can almost dream the intro, I think this is what I'm going to play: That enormous list of proficiencies makes me happy
Edit: That's not what I'm going to play haha. I realized having 16 dex and 16 wisdom then taking +2 dex at level 4 would be better (cause higher wisdom bonus all through) than taking +1 dex and +1 wis at level 4. Anyway, I have noticed the character creator is rather buggy. To get that big ass list of 9 proficiencies I have to click around a lot, change races and classes a few times and then all of a sudden I have 9. They should all be there though, except Sleight of Hand. Don't know how that gets there. Anyway, fixed the 'mistake': Lets do this.

Does it do anything besides wounding / killing? It floods all those rooms with gas through those vents you found. I tested it, um... for science.

I wish they'd let me sculpt the head though, but can't have everything I guess.
They should also make the hairstyles a drop down menu with tiny images of what the hairstyles look like, instead of making me click through the entire list to get what I want, but that's a minor gripe.
Also, this is probably just me, but I find it rather weird males have more hairstyles than females.

So about the "Petal" lady, spoiler and glitch...I'm le stupid. I like hag, I think they get an unfair bad rep.So I went along with Eithel (?) in game. I accidentally saw the ending of Act I when I was looking through a streamer's PT to see how he dealt with certain enemies. All I can say is, it's a nice ending.

My party's been munching on pig's heads during battle Does anyone know if it's possible to cook meats/vegetables yet? I've haven't seen any way to cook food (at least yet). Looks like "crafting" isn't implemented yet. I found lots of ingredients that really looks like you could use them for potions/poison (mushrooms, herbs, etc), or use them in combat as they have a "bonus action" tag. There was even a potion recipe somewhere but the text when read said it was too old so it was erased. I also found a working workbench, but that one seems tied to a quest.

Every encounters in the game are basically deadly boss fights. It's ridiculous. And not as fun as Larian might be thinking. I do sometimes feel underpowered, like I got to the spider cave pretty early and realised I had to backtrack because there was just no way I could take the queen on. But at the same time I've had the same battles go in so many different, wild directions. I reloaded a few times in the goblin castle and sometimes the battle went my way and sometimes the majority of my party had their health wiped in the first round. Sometimes my party was also shoved to death and it's just so hard to come back from that especially if they land somewhere inaccessible or a few levels down. That is what makes it so fun and interesting for me though, no battle feels the same and every character you encounter and fight feels so unique and challenging. No fight has felt like a 100% assured win unless you've reloaded a few times to gauge a sound strategy. I think Larian have vastly improved the combat from DOS2 and it is just *so* much more fun and enjoyable and replayable. The extra actions make it more interesting imo and the spells are also way better. Once you get a balance in your party every character feels like they add their own unique abilities that was way harder to balance in DOS...in short. I am loving the combat xD I'm not complaining about how the combat work. I'm complaining about Larian buffing encounters from normal 5e screwing the balance or resources consumption. You should be able to do 4-6 encounters in a row without a single long rest. edit: Going by some things I'm reading, I feels like the balancing is like that because Larian expect people to abuse their tadpole and gain OP abilities like 100% spell/missile reflect. Why would I do that, it's evil...

I made it to level 4 and I haven't even been to the goblin's camp yet. At release, Act 1 will probably end at level 6-7, but then the XP is all over the place as a big spider boss with 130+ HP gives only 20 xp when normal mobs with 20-30 HP that gives 30 XP+. The teahouse has the best quest so far. And the hag's lair fight bugged on me...but in my favor. She just stood there, her back to me while I dual wielded her ass to death.
Lots of loot there too. I finally meet the Tyr followers people have been talking about. Apparently, the other character associated to their quest might be another origin/companion, probably all placeholder (appearance, class, etc). I really should advance the main quest. I haven't go Rapheal visit yet, him showing up is tied to a specific interaction in the grove which I decided to skip. Also, lots of people meet in Act 1 seems to move to Baldur's Gate or have acquaintances in the city. Like the Auntie Ethel, she has a sister there.

Once you're through you can then go into your equipment to take the mask off after possession, then all will be well again.

I killed the hag after I got past the waterfall and not in her hut.

Immediately after passing through the waterfall, you can look to your right and up and notice behind some vines there is yet another hidden room. That one has a teleporter which will take you another room in the Underdark. There's another illusionary door in that room which will lead you to a cliff with a nice view. And then there's another teleporter there which will take you to the "ground" level.

Without the mask my character seemed to just be walking into a wall. So you didn't have to use the mask to walk through any of the illusions at all?! My PC is jealous However I was actually referring to the door that was in the room right before you get to the enemies and the waterfall, the one in the room with the petrified dwarf and tortured elf, sorry if I was unclear. I think that was the one reznore was talking about but I'm unsure. No door illusion would let my character pass through without the mask for some reason, so I had to constantly put it on and take it off every time I found a door. :/

OMG I just spent like THREE hours trying to kill Ethel...holy $^%$# how do people do it without shoving her off the cliff??!! I swear that entire fight is broken and you'd have to have some extremely lucky odds to get her with her loot. Her masks seemed bugged for me too..I turned into her minion almost immediately without getting a chance to take it off, so I ended up running my way through those noxious clouds bringing my party down to half health. xD Then I tried brute force drawing her out. That clearly doesn't work so I then used stealth to position my party in all four corners of the area and used psionic pull to get Mayrina out of the cage at the start of the battle. I managed to get her down to 10 health a few times before she tried to persuade me to spare her for extra power, which I refused because I wanted her trinkets lol. The thing that kills this battle is the last phase where she uses her illusion trick again when everyone's exhausted and out of spells. Her illusions just keep continuously attacking you with acid blasts and hold position(which is the real fight winner) which barely allows me a chance to counterattack. In the end I ended up shoving her off a cliff to progress which straight up annoyed me. I did manage to clear out the entire goblin camp though, the trick is to enter from the front and bottleneck them with fire and acid spells. Gale chose a good time to die because his necrosis killed off a few goblins for me and I got his creepy resurrection quest. Also I am amazed at how much stuff is in the game already...I thought the celebration with the druids would be the end of the act but there's more. The amount of work that's already gone into this game blows my mind...like there's just so much dialogue and clearly a lot of thought put into each encounter. I love that in almost every main conversation you can relate it back to your character's origin. This game is so worth the asking price, imo even in early access the quality of this game surpasses most other games in the same genre.

So I was exploring and there was that nice tree trunk making a path between two cliffs. I take the party across and 3 things happens at the same time: - my PC says "nice of nature to provide a path". - I see/hear a *crack* and the tree trunk does a DC roll. - I see the 3 other party members fall down after the tree trunk breaks. I also made some Zenth friends who are moving out to the Elfsong in Baldur's Gate.
I know that tavern!!! OMG I just spent like THREE hours trying to kill Ethel...holy $^%$# how do people do it without shoving her off the cliff??!! Yeah that entire fight was a headache and twice when I got her down to half health the game froze but it's to be expected. She wasn't all that hard when she didn't have her illusions up so I always made sure I attacked them first just to get rid of them, even when I knew which one was the real hag. I didn't know you could push her off the cliff though, would've save me a lot of trouble. :/

About the goblin fort I think there is some ruins in there for the Nightsong? Never found it.
You can leave the fort without fighting. Or without fighting much. There's a wall you can break, up some stairs near some drunken dudes. You have to kill those. You leave the fort through the broken wall and climb up on the side of the hill a bit, then back to rampart. You can aggro just three goblins if careful and then you sneak to the transport rune.
It just took me like three hours to figure that out.

The game just scored massive bonus points with me for not making the Elves go to sleep when taking a rest. Elves don't sleep, they cool like that.

Took a break and decided to make a Half-elf cleric and fiddle around with CC. I went with face #4 because oddly, she has some resemblance to Cate Blanchett. Well, to my eye.
