The high marks given in this thread are making me consider actually getting the game for my Xmas break. I was suspicious because BotW felt rather boring to me (watched nephew playing it). But Syndicate and Odyssey are my favorites among the AC franchise, so the same developer team is likely to deliver. Will ponder on this a few more days. CP2077 is a bit of a letdown as I hoped it will have more replayability. It's far more 'busy' than BotW. BotW put a lot of focus on exploration - just a couple side quests (that I rarely noticed even picking up), even fewer markers. Immortals is far more packed - more markers, more stuff to do, more variety in challanges, and more focus on story and characters. So if BotW felt boring, this game shouldn't  There are some sidequests in Immortals, but they aren't deep narrative pieces. It's mostly you dealing with a group of enemies, or solving a more elaborate puzzle. Much of the games front-facing narrative design is in passive dialogue told by Prometheus (with side commentary from Zeus). The overarching delivery of the story is through that of Prometheus, who acts as a storyteller for Fenyx's journey, with Zeus either listening or providing side commentary. Dialogue from Prometheus permeates various puzzles you solve in the overworld, as well as with certain Legendary boss encounters and sidequests. You get some Greek Mythology lore out of it (some embellished for the sake of it), with some levels of humorous banter between Prometheus and Zeus mixed in. The story is equal parts cheeky and charming; with a few rare moments of - admittedly - cringe.

Yeah I got the gold edition too but yeah I plqan to pplay it after Chriswtmas too as I'm bus yworking through the Halo MCC atm. Though I am a little torn as to whethe rto play Immortals first or AC Origins and Oddysey I won' t make the decision yet as I'll wait till I'm finished with the MCC before I mak etha tcall though I am leanin towards AC atm. Mainly because they'v ebeen in m ylibrary longer than Immortals. But regarding DLC's I believe 3 are planned fo rthe game . I don' tkno wwhen their release dates aer though but I would guess at various points in 2021 assuming all goes to plan

Ok, I immediately tried double jump from the start (CP2077 reflex) and thought I will have to fix some muscle memories. Thankfully, the game gave me that jump 30 minutes later.

Bought the game...so far its kind of fun. Yeah it looks a lot of fun. Im not normally keen on cartoony style games but the fact it looks fun combined wit hthe fac tit has a variety of difficulty optoins such as Story Mod edifficulty is what appealed to me. I fel tthat after seeing tha tthat despiet it's rather high price tag it was worth giving it a shot. I was going to wait until I had played my AC games first bu tnow I'm thinking I'll d oImmortasls firs tso I can get a playthrough under my belt befoer the DLC's come out. Because as I go tthe Gol dedition it means I'll be getting th eDLC' s as soon as they're available and what with the way my SSD is atm I'll need moer space befoer I install them. I do have a plan but I wanted to try the gam efirs tand get AC Origin and Oddyse yout of th ewa yfirs tbefoer I attempted it as i twill also likely require removing one or 2 of my other games to make room.

The only problem I am having with the game is that some of the vaults action requirements are too tricky for me. I can do the puzzles, fight the bosses etc no problem, but I get so frustrated trying to shoot an arrow through 10 targets, or having to double jump onto moving crates etc. Right now I am being driven mad by Ares vault which is required to move the story forward! I don't want to stop playing but I have the feeling I am not going to get much farther in the game unless the vaults get easier....  |

I don't want to stop playing but I have the feeling I am not going to get much farther in the game unless the vaults get easier....  Most of trickier vaults require certain power upgrades, or simply get much easier with them. For example, that 10 targets get much easier once you get upgrade for Apollo's Arrow that allows you to slow down time while you shoot it, giving you much, much more control over arrow's flight path. As for Ares vault... yeah, probably the most frustrating main story vault. But I'm certain you'll get through it.

You can always rty stopping the moving platforms via the levers i you feel the need to I played the prologue last night and I found doing that quite helpful. No tall of them can b estopped but I know some can you jus tneed t mak esue ryou stop them in the right place though. I'v eenjoyed i ts ofa rbut I d oagre tha tthe vaults can b echallenging I ran out of Blu emushrooms du et ospending tim ertying t ofind th eside stuff when I should hav efocused more on ghetting throug hthe prologue so yeah I made mistaskes as well but they are mistakes though that I think I'll learn from when playing it again a second time later as I'll likel yervisit this game a second time afte rthe DLC's drop. I go tt othe hall of th egods but so far that's as far as I got last night. Hopefully I can get a bit further toda yand see if I can upgrade my abilities some more as well.

The last couple days I've been playing this game, and so far I'm really enjoying it. Fenyx is an adorable character, I loved child Athena, and the commentary of Prometheus and Zeus is always fun. Currently working on saving Aphrodite. Between her being super selfless and caring and Athena being unsure and not knowing, I'm curious how Aries and Hephaestus are going to be. My guess is the former will be a pacifist and the latter a bumbling fool who can't make anything.

Yea hI think it's a ghoo dgame aas I lik ethe story an dthe characters it's jus ta bi tof bad puzzle/level design tha tkind of let sit down with the constant need to dashand things like that. When yo uonl yhave on ehand on th econrtols it's really hard to do. I don' thave a problem withth eComba tthough as I found that fine it's jus t,more the puzzles and leve ldesignwhich unfortunatel ymake up the majority of this game.
