Immortals Fenyx Rising @fenyxrising Tomorrow, December 10th, 2020, we will be releasing Title Update 1.0.3 of Immortals Fenyx Rising. This update will be available at about 9:00AM ET / 14:00PM UTC.
I don't know if it's only Ubisoft thing, Zelda has long-standing joke with deadly cuccos (chickens) as well.
Ah, memories. The time when someone tricked you into attacking the chickens, and the time you passed it on by tricking someone else.
Believe it or not but i got killed by chickens ( they're actually roosters who lay eggs go figure ) once this was in Odyssey. I don't remember what level i was at that time but there were 5 or 6 of them and every time i wanted to hit either one of them one of them blocked me and that continued until i was dead.
It was a long and horrible experience for me.
Yeah from then on i declared war to all the roosters in the game and that's one of the main reasons i have 9.999.999 soft leather in my inventory ... well almost.
Ps. i do remember those cuccos in the Zelda games as well but vaguely.
Some voices have been bothering me, as in they sounded familiar, so I decided to check. And holy shit. Aphrodite is voiced by the same actress as Arlessa Isolde. Now I can't stop myself from imagining her go "who iz dis, Fenyx?" Saw some other familiar names (including Adam Jensen's VA, or Kassandra's VA) but this just made me cackle

Just finished main game. Closed in 43h, but I did stop exloring and completing Vaults when I was almost done with upgrading, leaving some stuff for NG+. So I could definitely get more hours in first pt.
In a bit more detail (non-spoilery): - Enjoyable combat, I was especially surprised how enjoyable was mid-air combat. Enemy-locking system could be a bit more consistent though. - The only exploration limitation I encountered were related to my lack of stamina, although I have to admit, even after over 40h I sometimes had problems with judging jumps. And I'm not certain it was entirely my fault, considering most of the time I did manage to jump over obstacle on my second try. - Loved the humor and characters. Story was ok, nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. There were two moments I could call plot twists, one I saw coming, the second one took me by surprise, even if game was dropping hints left and right. But maybe it's me just seeing things differently now that I know the truth. - I'm still trying to make up my mind what I think about difficulty level. I played on normal, and I feel like it was inconsistent at times (especially later, when I had more gear and upgrades). Not even talking about unique encounters, but sometimes game just rolled combination of enemies that either was too weak or, well, maybe not exactly hard, but kinda annoying. - Aside from occassional crashed (when counting all of them I'd say I got one every 4 or so hours) and strange glitch with upgrades (animation didn't play until I entered upgrade menu again), I didn't encounter any more glitches.
Overall, I had a lot of fun, and I'd definitely recommend it. And yep, I started NG+ right away. This time with a bit more custom Fenyx.

I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. It can be a bit corny at times, but overall the general gameplay is enjoyable and its even charming at times. Definitely a sleeper hit for me. Plus, I get to have that quasi-BoTW experience (I don't own Switch).
Normal can be challenging on certain unique enemies if you're not prepared to face them, but otherwise there's no place you can really hit the wall. And if you meet enemy you can't deal for now, I haven't encountered the case where you can't return to that one later.
There are also two lower difficulties (Story and Easy) and two higher (Hard and Nightmare - the last one unlocked after finishing the game for the first time), so there's plenty to choose from.

There's combat difficulty (which the setting is geared around) and there's puzzle difficulty (which has no setting).
Some of the vault puzzles are fiendish and (for me) challenging if you want to open everything.
I think it took me an hour or more to beat a level when you had to bash wooden balls across gaps with moving pillars and thwomps.

True, some puzzles can be difficult, especially once various uses of Godly Powers get involved. Fortunately the ones needed for main story aren't too hard.

Indeed.
(But I like to do and collect 'all the things'...)

I was hesitant... AC meets BotW?! The current trilogy of AC has been underwhelming and BotW was the worst gaming experience of my life. But, with boredom and depression I’ve hone bsck to even CoD (cold war was brilliant) so I figured, why not do the PS4 free PS5 upgrade?
So glad I did.... fun gameplay who’s difficulty I control, some good. customisation, fun puzzles, and that wonderful narration.......... It is so fucking weird my GotY is either this wondrous game or Call of Duty. What the fuck, 2020?!

Don't feel weird about thinking this is your GOTY, I've seen many people claim that around the web.

Just beat the game and got all the achievements! Solid 8.0-8.5 from me. I really had a good time, the combat was solid, and it was really nice doing the various puzzles for rewards. So much so, that it literally made me second guess wanting to come back to playing AC: Valhalla. What's also really nice is the new game + feature coupled with the Mastery system. Once you've leveled up a particular piece of equipment, you can use the remaining materials and consumables to further improve said equipments base benefits (ex. Each point of Potion Mastery will increase buff potion duration times by 1 second).
I know I'm going to eventually beat Valhalla, but seeing the stark difference in how collectibles/gear is acquired in Immortals vs Valhalla, it's making me second guess whether or not I want to go 100% in it. The laborious nature and lack of brain engagement in getting the Wealth and Artifact collectibles in Valhalla had me taking a break from it. This is from someone who's played all the mainline AC games since AC1, and is generally a completionist within said titles. Even did 100% in Odyssey/Origins.
I hope the AC teams take a look at Immortals to figure out how they should handle collectible/gear acquisition in the next title. If you looked at the map in Immortals, it's basically akin to the same collectible clutter as previous AC games. Anywho, this is definitely a sleeper hit title for me, and I've got no issues saying this is my GOTY, with Doom: Eternal coming in second.
EDIT: Also, kudos to Gareth Choker on the games soundtrack. More notably, the games titular "Heart of a Hero" soundtrack. He also did the soundtrack for the Ori games, and its pretty easy to hear when you hear the female hymns between the soundtracks from each respective game.

Yeah, soundtrack is amazing. I expected something more ambient, but instead it's really catching your attention. I even caught myself stopping between changing areas a few times, just because I wanted to listen to music a bit more

The high marks given in this thread are making me consider actually getting the game for my Xmas break.
I was suspicious because BotW felt rather boring to me (watched nephew playing it). But Syndicate and Odyssey are my favorites among the AC franchise, so the same developer team is likely to deliver.
Will ponder on this a few more days. CP2077 is a bit of a letdown as I hoped it will have more replayability.

It's far more 'busy' than BotW. BotW put a lot of focus on exploration - just a couple side quests (that I rarely noticed even picking up), even fewer markers. Immortals is far more packed - more markers, more stuff to do, more variety in challanges, and more focus on story and characters. So if BotW felt boring, this game shouldn't
