As I understand it, the voice was done using AI. I think Doug Cockle's job is safe for now. LOL.

Just finished the Witcher season 2 tonight and holy cow season 2 took what was already a solid foundation in season 1 and really ran with it. Everything was improved upon from a technical sense and I really feel like the writing even got better and more consistent as well. Probably easier to do without them jumping timelines. But yeah... well for specifics. 1. This season was far more witchery. Which I loved. We saw more usage of Witcher powers and Witcher abilities. Far more signs and sign usage, Witcher medallions in use, more usage of exlixirs, more monster slaying, and a lot more monsters. 2. In genereal more statements bending towards the philosophical and the whole 'evil is evil' bit. 3. Better feeling cinematagraphy in general. 4. Feeling of overall higher stakes and better pacing feeling like it was leading somewhere, and then delivered. And just the writing in this is so much better then the game. I just feel like CDPR was toddlers throttling cars together or something sometimes. Wild Hunt never felt like it had any real depth in it or connection. Sure characters had their moments and the storyline did sing every now and then but...at least the main game...was fun but often felt empty. But the show feels like a much more engaging breethed in world with far more flaws yet active characters that actually make it easier to connect with them and their plights. As an almost aside I do wonder if killing off Eskel, who survives to the games and thus probably survives the book series, was to just raise the stakes a little bit. It was always in the back of my head that like when Vesemir or Yen was in danger that they could easily be axed, well not easilt but still.

Robbie Amell did a decent job as Chris Redfield in Welcome To Raccoon City even though the rest of the film was beyond terrible.

The Witcher: Blood Origin | Post-Credits Teaser | Netflix Other than being a prequel to Geralt's saga (by centuries), I don't really know much. I did see that it was in post-production late last year, so maybe...end of this year? Early next?

Just started watching the Witcher series, and holy shit this is soooooo much better than the Wheel of Time. That's in part thanks to Amazon trying to cram a novel with a wordcount of around 300K into an 8 episode series with the writers incorporating elements from more than the 1st novel. I think it should have been at least 12 hour + episodes. My hope is season 2 makes a similar leap that the Witcher did from season 1 to 2, (supposedly the episodes are going to be longer) but am doubtful because they broke some critical lore and ruined one of the most, if not most, beloved character in the series (Matrim Cauthon). I found the Wheel of Time season 1 to be a mixed bag...certain aspects I really love and other things I was left scratching my head with the decision making of the writers. So ultimately I have to agree the Witcher is a better series...though I think that's because the shorter source material and less number of POV's to account for make the task easier to bring to audiences. Both are among my top 10 book series with WOT #1.

So Geralt has been recast
Henry Cavil will return as Geralt in season 3, but he will be replace by Liam Hemsworth in season 4

And I guess season 3 will be the last one I watch. I don't see Helmsworth working out as Geralt, he's better suited as Thor. Hugh Jackman or Jason Mamoa would've been a better fit.
Oh wait...Liam, not Chris....even worse. Liam is more like a fluffy bunny, he seems too soft for the part.

I am not a big follower of actors but surely there had to be a better actor than Liam Hemsworth to play Geralt. First one to come to mind for me would have been Alexander Skarsgård.

I'm not trying to knock Liam either, but he has such a baby face... I mean, I'd checkout the first episode anyway, but I'm having a hard time warming up to the idea. Heck. I would've leaned more towards Ryan Reynolds over Liam.Skarsgard is good too. Or...lol...Jensen Ackles if he were taller. I'll be going into season 4 with no great expectations. I may just pass on it completely.

I guess it was always going to happen once WB got Cavill back in the cape.
Ugh. Liam Hemsworth?
I mean, he usually plays a piece of wood, but Geralt does have some emotion. I would have preferred Westworld Hemsworth.

I also thought of Viggo Mortensen but I have trouble seeing him as anything other than Aragorn.
Anyway I guess they aren't going to change it now they have announced it.

With or without Cavill the second season was always going to be the last one I watched. Even if it didn't come out that some writers mocked the books etc. it was already obvious they hated them, or at the very least thought they could do better than the source material...

I didn't watch the Witcher show. Not interested in it after I saw some shots of the first season.
Anyway, I read that Henry Cavil is a fan of the Witcher franchise and love the books, that he's quitting because he's frustrated with the showrunners not keeping to the lore. Kudos to him if it's true.

I was wondering if it had anything to do with the injury to his leg in season 2. He could've come out of season 3 realizing the part was just aggrivating it too much, but if it has to do with the writing, and where they're taking the story, then yeah, I'm out.

Kudos to him if it's true. Yeah, that's what I heard that he was unhappy because the showrunners did not keep to the lore. But thing is the author of the books agreed to this. This was when he was suing CDPR because he felt he got cheated in their deal. So he was on board with the showrunners changing the lore as long as he got his money. At the time I had never played a Witcher game nor read the books and thought season 1 was pretty good. But then this past year I played the trilogy for the first time and saw the actual lore.

I barely got through season 1 and haven't (yet) watched season 2 so I can't say I was exactly a fan. Still, even though I'm not a huge Henry Cavill fan he was great as Geralt. One of the few truly great castings for the show. I also liked Cirilla and Cahir, but that's about it. Replacing him with another actor is foolish. Should just cancel the show entirely. After all Netflix has done that to many other far better shows than the Witcher so why not?
