Okay, I know there is still 3 hours to go to my original deadline but there are now enough players I could slip someone in at the last minute as either a hero or a spy so it would not put anyone at an advantage or disadvantage to do so. So I'm going to start sending out roles because it could take me a while.
Everyone will be sent their character description with their role so if you have any queries about it, please ask. I think in a way it helps that these characters haven't been part of the main game as it won't matter if you have played it numerous times or not and everyone should have the same amount of knowledge.
I have also amended and update the rules on the first page, so please check them out, particularly the part about what happens if you are targeted by the agents on the first night. Again, if you are unsure what anything means, please ask.

WOLF HUNT - the Prologue
The recruits from the Shadow Inquisition had gathered at a tavern in Hasmal on the Tevinter border awaiting instructions. Shortly after, Ser Aaron arrived with his party, along with numerous refugees from the Qunari invasion.
“This is going to complicate the search,” he thought ruefully. Still it was imperative they followed up every lead no matter what danger it might involve. The fate of Thedas could depend on them.
He headed for the bar and asked the barkeep if there were any messages for him. He was handed a document bearing the seal of the Divine:
We have been given a clue that suggests you should begin your hunt in the location of the settlement of Solas. A bit obvious I know but my contact assures me the information is good. Beware of agents of Fen’Harel; we have reason to suspect they may have infiltrated our company.
“That’s just great”, thought Ser Aaron. “Not only will this involve a trek across the Silent Plains, not the most hospitable of terrain to say the least, but we shall have to watch our backs as well.” He sighed. “I suppose we had better get started then.”
They set out northwards until the sun began to set and then made camp on the edge of the Silent Plains.

ETA: Also, just checked to realize that the agents have some interesting abilities this time around, which is always nice to have as a spy.

It actually might be helpful having an independent observer who is a veteran of the other games as you may spot where things don't seem to be working but are an impartial judge of how to fix things. Ser Aaron took the first watch. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Vaea rummaging around in the personal belongings of her companions. He pretended not to notice and hoped she was merely trying ferret out their secrets, not helping herself to some interesting trinket. Suddenly there was a commotion on the edge of camp.
“Get it away, get it away, it is not wanted. It must not lick or it will know hurt.”
He looked across and saw Autumn bouncing around excitedly, barking in a highly delighted fashion that soon had the whole camp awake.
“Come here, Autumn, at once,” he ordered. When Autumn responded and raced up to him, he waved an admonishing finger. “Don’t do that sort of thing again. You were lucky Argent didn’t stab you.”
Peace returned to the camp and Aaron completed his watch without further incident. He handed over to the next guard and retired to his bed with relief.
The following morning as one of the auxiliaries was cooking breakfast, another went around camp to wake the rest of their company. Most of them responded with varying degrees of annoyance and irritation at having their sleep disturbed but one was different. They were already awake and sitting up with a vacant, dreamy look on their face and an unnaturally calm demeanour.
He spoke their name but there was no response. He waved his hand in front of her face. “Are you okay? Look at me.”
They turned their face in response to his command with a puzzled frown on their face. “Who are you?”
The following occurred during the night. Autumn the Mabari snuggled Argent.
One of the heroes was placed in a Fade Dream. DAY ONE has begunYou may now vote. Please remember the rules about voting and bold your vote so it can clearly be seen. Remember you may only give one hint as to your identity per day time round and this must be taken from your character background. If in doubt, please PM me. You are not obliged to hint if you don't want to. If another person speculates as to your identity (role as opposed to being an agent or not) you are permitted to deny this but it counts as your hint for the day. You are not allowed to confirm that their speculation is correct. Let the fun begin.

Since they are catatonic until Day 2 I thought it would put them at too much of a disadvantage if I revealed their identity. The Wolf Cubs are watching.

Ummm... could you give an example of what do you mean by minor and major offences? I'm just not sure how to interpret it  And awww, I loved seeing the Mabari in action. So we have someone in the Fade and the Mabari and Argent are definitely in the game, plus the Mabari knows who is Argent. I wander who is Fade Walking right now  Since, as always in the first round, we have nothing on anyone I'll throw my vote out randomly for now and see what happens during the day. I vote for Obsidian Gryphon.

Ummm... could you give an example of what do you mean by minor and major offences? Minor would be giving two clues in a round instead of one. It is something a person could genuinely do by mistake but it could give them an advantage over people who stuck to the rules, so there needs to be a penalty of some sort. Major would be flagging up obviously who you are or agreeing to speculation about your identity. Obviously there is a bit of a grey area with the investigative roles but at least there is more than one in the game so saying you trust someone or don't trust someone doesn't automatically mean you are one particular role. Also having put a limit on amount of protection they can be given by Ser Aaron means there is a definite risk in being explicit as the spies are going to target you and he may not be able to protect you. Plus making such a declaration is your hint for the round. So if your fellow players jump to the wrong conclusion, you are not able to deny it until the next round. It is also possible for a non-investigative role to state they trust someone based off the clues that have been given, because they have worked it out by a process of elimination, although this is unlikely to happen until later rounds. Nevertheless, if they have worked out someone's role, based off the clues, they can state this and give the reasons why. The other players can then look at the evidence and see if they come to the same conclusion. However, the player that is the subject of their declaration is not allowed to confirm this but they are allowed to deny it, provided they haven't given any other hint that round. The person making the declaration should also be mindful that they could be helping the spies in putting the clues together successfully but that is a matter of judgement based off the nature of the role and the risk in revealing it over that of keeping quiet because the person might end up being voted off. If in doubt about whether or not you should say something, please PM me before taking action and I will do my best to advise you on whether it is within the rules. If you are unhappy with anything about the way I interpret the rules this game, please wait until the end to raise the issue and we can discuss it then, if necessary tweaking them for the next one. |

A further suggestion to encourage dialogue, you don't have to wait for other people to reveal something about themselves but can ask them questions. They are not obliged to answer but if they do it counts as their hint for the round. For example you could ask them where they were born or what countries they have been to, how long have they been with the Inquisition or their likes/dislikes. A native of Ferelden might not like Orlesians much, whilst an Orlesian might not be very fond of mabari. If someone expresses a liking for mabari that could mean they were from Ferelden or from the group that has just left Tevinter together. I hope you get the general idea.
You are limited to asking 2 different people per round (so one person doesn't hog all the questioning) but you may only answer one per round. I was hoping this might make the early rounds a bit more interesting than simply sticking a pin in. This should not be regarded as a criticism of those who have already voted but as an encouragement to those who usually like to wait around to see what other people do first.
