Your bard sounds awesome! You don't happen to write fanfiction, do you? I'd love to read more about your itchy bard!  I'm doing a playthrough of HotU right now with a bard archer. I left Deekin behind, though, since I felt like their skills would be too similar.  I really wish you could take him, Valen, AND Nathyrra in your party at the same time (I usually leave Nathyrra out, for obvious reasons  ). Those three are so much fun!
Thanks!  As for fanfiction.....ummm, sort of?  I have bits and pieces written out and notes scattered somewhere, but most of the backstory is just in my head. It's my first in a somewhat long line of unfinished story arcs. I've got my bard/Valen, my Aasimar cleric/Bishop, mage femHawke/Fenris, and femShep w/Kaidan(ME1)-Thane(ME2/3)-Garrus(post-game). I've snippets written for all of them, but no whole story for anyone (yet) other than in true head-canon form. Too busy playing games instead of writing about them. 
Yeah, I usually leave out Nathyrra too, though sometimes I take her just for the tail comments.  I'm surprised after all this time there's no mod/console command to increase party size in HoTU. I can't play NWN2 with the default party limit - I always bring everyone.
I completely understand. I've been writing my HotU fic for years now, and I'm not even close to being done. Makes me wonder when I'll ever get around to my Warden/Alistair and Inquisitor/Blackwall stories. (I did technically start a Hawke/Fenris one, but it was only planned to be two chapters. And I still haven't finished it...  ) Let us know if you ever do write anything for your bard/Valen! We could always use more to read/talk about. And thanks for reminding me about Nathyrra's tail comments! I may miss Deekin, but at least I have that to look forward, too. |

My headcanon character is a human NG cleric. I feel like Valen doesn't understand genuinely helpful people very well because of his harsh upbringing, so I tried to pick a class and alignment that really focused on service and compassion (plus, I wanted a character that would believably warm up to Deekin, who is an important part of any SoU/HotU experience ). Getting along with Deekin - or teasing him mercilessly, as some characters are wont to do - is a high priority in all my games! I just can't decide if I prefer Valen with the selfless type he can look up to, or a more cranky, reluctant hero type character he finds himself at odds with. Guess it's all the more reason for multiple playthroughs.  My brain must be broken because I'm drawing a blank on that NPC, but I'll for sure check them out the next time I boot up the game! Aasimar paladin for double trouble.  |

Aasimar paladin for double trouble. I don't remember the druid's name, but if you talk to her before the battle she'll give you a blessing (Bull's Strength, I think). She's in the room with all the refugees, before you get to Durnan. |

A bit of necromancy and this thread is like new. I begun a new HotU pt just because seven brought up Valen Shadowbreath and I couldn't remember much about the romance, except I liked it a lot. Playing as dwarf cleric/rogue.  |

Just got started on a new NWN run. I have vague recollections of playing this many years ago so it all seems new to me. I kind of remember there was some real in-depth lore in this game.
