2019 Unofficial Dragon Age Day Twitter & Discussion Thread - Interview with Karin & Patrick Weekes P

We'll be kicking things off today, and have three months of lead-up to the actual day on December 4, with prompts and things to inspire writers, artists, cosplayers, screen-capturers and more. Stay tuned!

That's a long story. The founders last year were trying to think of something similar to November 7 ("N7" / "N7 Day") for the Mass Effect fans, but Dragon Age didn't lend itself as well to that... They did consider September 30 (9:30) and other similar Thedosian calendar references, but because not everyone gets into the Dragon Age games via DAO, they didn't think that would really click for people whose first game was DA2 or DAI. 

So, they settled on using 133t speak, where the number 4 often substitutes for the letter A. In 133t, "Dragon Age" might look something like "Dr4g0n 4g3," and "DA" would be "D4." This gave them "D4 Day" and they rolled with it. And "D4" / "D4 Day" made December 4 a date they could work with.

They did decide to drop the 133t this year since there were a lot of jokes about how to pronounce Dragon 4ge Day last year.  It has been immortalized in our website's domain name and some of our social media accounts, though.

Dragon age 2 is where it all started for me, I replayed it around what felt like 20 times until I finally bought origins which is the game i pulled all nighters for. Finally came Inquisition and I loved it just as much. Now, I wait for 4 as I replay them all over again.

I streamed all three. Every character has taught me something, made me think. Inquisition was an especially meta experience, as my community grew with my Inquisition. Logging off after Trespasser hit me hard.
DA gave me a community to belong to, and it's changed everything.

PS - Fenris got me to clean my room.

I got to the dragon age party super late (like three months ago late) but the community has been amazing and kept me sane through some really bad downs over the last few months.
I look forward to continuing to have my beating heart ripped from my chest by elves ❤️

There was a thread from last year. Back in June when planning for D4 Day 2019 began, I asked DragonKingReborn if he thought I should continue using last year's thread or start a new one for 2019. He said to start a new one so that people who wish to follow the thread won't have to go through all of last year's stuff to see the new stuff. So here it is.

Dragon Age was one of the only things in my life that I had control over. It made me accepting of the world and wanting to spread positivity. It changed me for the better tbh (not that my parents think so 😂😂)

I was lazy so I did not have a job. I tried to play DAO on my old comp and while it was working, it was very slow. So I got up, found a Job, finished my studies.I bought a computer and my own apartment I am in a very good situation for years tnx to DA
