I wasn’t a fantasy lover at all. I was a spaceships, sci-fi, aliens and strange new worlds kind of girl, from the types of stories I read to games I play, to stories I write. Dragon Age has changed my perspective on fantasy as a genre. I’m even writing it.

I will say this: Dragon Age is unique. Like Sci-fi Fantasy. It has strange new worlds, non-human characters, time travel. It even has robots. Stories are tackled from the realm of Why Not, which is my favorite place as a storyteller.

What else attracted me to Dragon Age was acceptance. For decades, fantasy was something I’d been turned off from by the Historical Accuracy crowd. Fantasy was for straight, white males. That made consumption and creation difficult to stomach.

DA’s life-takeover has also opened many doors. I can’t gush enough about the talent of the people writing Dragon Age. By paying attention to prose and strengths of different game writers, it’s helped me grow in my own work. So, thanks for that.

Dragon Age brought me an intense happiness, and that's also the reason why I started drawing again. More important: I fell in love with Blackwall and this character made me a better person, he is an incomparable moral support in my life.

While I was struggling with depression really badly and finding myself unable to enjoy things, I was introduced to Dragon Age and it helped pick me back up when I was down and gave me something to feel passionate about when all the passion in me was sucked out

Even though I'm not fully out of my creative block, it has helped me rediscover my love for creativity and storytelling, and I've met some wonderful people because of it!

I got into Dragon Age when I was 14. I had just moved into town and one of the first games my new friend (who’s now not only my best friend but also my boyfriend) showed me was DA2. I feel like our love for the game brought us closer and it gave us a mutual liking for us to share

(1:3) I discovered Dragon Age by accident. I stumbled on Inquisition first, and in the first couple seconds of playing it- I was hooked. I bought Origins and DA2 in a heart beat to actually see how the story progress... #DragonAgeDay

(2:3) It felt like I was the Maker of this world making hero’s of all shapes and sizes, then watching them save Thedas over and over again. I remember the day I completed my full play through of all the games and their expansions, because the DA4 teaser came out.. #DragonAgeDay

DragonAge was my escape from bad living situations and depression. My dad was into dungeon and dragons and medieval stuff so I clicked with it right away and it made me want to pursue game design and work on my art years later I have a degree in game design and make money off art
