I had to wait till 6th because been in the UK but still one of best long weekend of my life when I picked up Dragon Age Origins from my local game with my turkey & ham subway... Those were the days.

My canon Warden was a City Elf named Darian. (I was terribly unimaginative - I just took out the extra ‘r’ from the default name.) I tried other Origins but none of them clicked for me. He romanced Leliana, befriended Alistair, hated Loghain and took part in Morrigan’s ritual.

My head canon for Darian is that his mother had instilled in him the idea that one day he would be a great hero that would inspire other elves. And he did become a hero, but suffered terribly for it. He did a lot of good, but he also did a lot of things he regretted.

A fun coincidence happened with my Warden: when he named his Dog, he called him the super-generic “Fang.” Later on, he was given a dagger by his father Cyrion with the same name, and it became my headcanon that he named the dog after the dagger.

My first playthrough is not my canon but I remember it fondly! I had a Mage Elf Origin and romanced Alistair and Zevran and eventually chose the tricksy elf. She defeated the arch demon, so....

Okay, before the day is over #dragonageorigins 10th anniversary, with my Canon Warden Barima #Aeducan. She romanced no one, made Alistair marry Anora to bring balance to Ferelden and tried her best to become a good Warden Commander. #WardenAeducan #DragonAgeDay




Until the very end she didn't want to believe that neither Trian nor Behlen would betray her. Having an affair with Gorim she had thought that on the surface at least they could love each other. Her heart was broken, when she met him again. It broke again bc of her fathers death

When she returned to Orzammar she killed Behlen and made Harrowmont king, but later regretted that decision.

She really loved all her companions but felt a familiar relationship with Oghren, helping him to win Felsi for him and way later got pissed at him for leaving her.






Not wanting to die she accepted Morrigans offer for the ritual and convinced Alistair to go through with it.
She still trusted Morrigan even after she disappeared, looked for her later out of concern.

I like to imagine that she stayed in contact with her companions as good as possible, even continued to travel with some of them & searching for Anders while DA2 offering him that he is always welcome to return.
I also heacanon that she still commands the Wardens in Ferelden.


I have actually lots of headcanons for my Warden and many ideas about how some things behind the scenes happened but that would be too much right now. #DragonAgeOrigins gave me an OC I really enjoy to work with and I'm very thankful for that so Happy Birthday

Congratz to 10 years of Dragon Age Origins! While it didn't stick with me immediately, it grew on me with later playthroughs. I am glad to see it continue as a great series and source of lore!

And it is still the best. I played it about 10 times and still found new content, new ways to do things, new dialogue. As much as I love the characters of DA:I especially (M/Inquisitor x Bull 4ever!), the games never reached that level again.

Amell is my canon Warden. She totally wasn't into any of that soppy romance stuff, but then met Alistair. It was love at first sight. Her best friend was Sten, enjoying the debates about the Qun. She made sure everyone she cared about survived the final fight, whatever the cost.

My favorite memory of DA:O is when I learned how to become an Arcane Warrior. I stumbled across it on accident and it led me to fall for Morrigan as I could see through her cold demeanor! Me, her, Sten and my Mabari went everywhere together!
