This is what happens when anti-SJWs and SJWs review a game. All nuance is gone. Alright, by all means, what nuance am I missing? I'm not being sarcastic or a smart ass here. I am legitimately confused about what people are complaining about and would like enlightenment on this subject.

I actually agree with you, the problem that I've seen too many people focus on how Abby is a "trans" and "lesbian love!" rather than the meat of it. Characters that people played as being killed or maimed just to make a character that they never see or heard of look good.
It was the same problem with the Star Wars sequels.

Probably just going to blame gamers for not getting the brilliance of it... "Toxic hacker gamers sabotaged it" "Man-child gamers too immature to grasp themes" "Gamers don't appreciate women's stories" "Angry youtube gamers ravaged it to earn a quick buck" "It could never succeed in such an environment" "Please it wasn't my fault" "I am a visionary" "Like Phil Fish" To be honest I don't think gamers are much better.

At this point they should just come clean-blame what is most likely a employee who didn’t like the direction of the game
If the rumors are true then stop hiding it and embrace it. Clearly it’s true as they aren’t denying what’s in the leak. Let’s see how well it does. Instead it feels dirty ( we will take your money and the surprise?) . They don’t try at their consumer base!

I'm going to side-step the current 'drama' and play the first one (again). A couple of weeks should be plenty for the first game, ahead of the second. That prologue is still an excellent start.

Sony just DMCA’d their own twitter account!
Update: Looks like they realized their mistake but the Internet remembers:
Also notice how hard Sony is pushing Ghosts of Tsushima advertisements despite Part II releasing in a couple of weeks.

Here's a thread on the TLOU subbreddit discussing how a certain someone looked in the 2017 trailer compared to the newly released trailer:
Putting spoilers even though it's already seen footage but IDK about names.

Review embargo has been lifted. Currently stands at 95 on Metacritic. Here's one of the reviews that stands at the other end of the spectrum:

Curiosity is starting to get the better of me. Not a console player, but I’ve read three reviews of this now. All glowing; two 5 star and one 9/10. But they all mention “the second half” of the game, which is still embargoed but “the best and most amazing thing ever in the history of the world of things”.
Tempted just to get it on one of the companies PS4’s.

Also, as you mentioned, the fact that the developer has embargoed the second half of the game, which is likely to be the more divisive one, has effectively tied the hands of those reviewers who received a copy and signed an NDA. I'd advise you to wait until after the game releases so you can have access to more reviews less beholden to Sony or Naughty Dog's restrictions but you do you.

Oh, I never would have bought it until it had been out for at least three or four months - that’s pretty much my rule for all games - just curious that 3 highly positive reviews that all focussed on different aspects of the game all mentioned this “absolutely amazing” second half.

Absolutely amazing, heh? I've got to read that, if only to have a few laughs. By the way, I was surprised to find that Polygon and Kotaku wrote rather scathing reviews about the game, what is rather atypical for them. They both sum things up in two questions, "Did you know murder is wrong?" and "What if every terrible thing you can think of, but more of it?" Sounds about right from the leaks.

It sums up a lot about the story of the game. One thing from the Polygon review also deals with the ending of the first game when they talk about how you agree or disagree with what Joel does for the game takes the stance that you agreed with him and then takes the path of trying to make you feel bad about it for the length of the game. The problem is that I don't think they pulled the theme of the cycle of violence off well because frankly the game is generally about you killing lots of people and forces you to do it when they really want you to feel bad about it. There are plenty of ways to do it with different scenes and other characters, but it seems to be focused on making the game about the player and their reaction to the violence instead of how the characters react to the violence themselves.

I really enjoyed the first one. The positive responses makes this game a Day One for me. There are too few good games out there. Review embargo has been lifted. Currently stands at 95 on Metacritic. Here's one of the reviews that stands at the other end of the spectrum: Skill-Up and Gamespot like it less? Even more evidence that I'll enjoy it.

I watched the first two and a half hours of the game: I want to talk about how Abby fits in:
Abby is introduced at the 30-45 minute mark after playing as Ellie walking around the town of Jackson.
Abby is a part of a recon team in the WLF that finds the town. Being a good scout, she wants to do a full-frontal assault it in order to kill Joel (meaning she already has her murder boner), her partner (ex-BF) says no due to the fact that the town is well fortified and she decides to head off on her own.
(Switch to Ellie and Daina for 30 minutes)
Abby is then running away from runners in a blizzard, gets caught by one, and is rescued by Joel and Tommy. They tell her their names and she gets a wild look in her eye while they are occupied fighting the horde.
Eventually they escape from the horde and Abby leads them to her WLF comrades, after introducing himself and getting a cold and silent reaction; Abby kneecaps Joel with a shotgun while her comrades knock out Tommy. Abby asks Joel if he knew who she was, Joel tells her to save it and do her worse.
(Ellie gameplay past Joel cutscene death, aftermath with Tommy, and grave scene)
Some other observations:
-70% of the dialogue is either teenage drama relationship garbage or non-stop talk about sex including with Abby. -Ellie and Daina find a weed lab with pornos get high, and screw. Daina's ex-boyfriend then finds them making out in their underwear.
If you look at Part 1, how often were pornography or even sex mentioned?
Druckmann really is an edgy 13 year old boy and sexual deviant.
Those 10/10 reviews sound like real shills.

Oh no, sex. How dare. Lulz.
I initially had no interest in the game. The first one was bleak enough, and I don't want to kill dogs, but the fuss everyone's making about the mysteeeeeeeeeriouuuuuuus second half made me morbidly curious enough to preorder it.
