Da2 and Inquisitions were quite disappointing under this point of view.
I mean, Wynne and Shale are very cute, it's true. Difficult to top that. I always found Leliana kind of cute too. A lot of my male wardens tend to falf rfor her in DAO

Da2 [...] were quite disappointing under this point of view. Wait, no Merrill? I'm usually not too keen on using this kind of term, but that's definitely HERESY!  Seems there is quite some need for doggies in DA again, eh? And I thought I would be weird coming up with an idea for a Ranger-styled specialisation centering around Mabari. Just one though, who can sniff out smelly stealth spammers and bite them in the butt, among other moves.

Because it's all about the woofs, the woofs, no kitties... Since Arf Howl was a boy in DAO, we need a female mabari in DA4. It's only fair. Or howsabout a kennel full of mabari that you choose from on a mission by mission basis? We need some BATTLE CATS we can RIDE to eat those mabaris.. the glory!   That gives me an idea.

I was kind of horrified that this troll thread gained any traction, but I'm pleased to see it's all cute doggos and birds now I would like a Bog Unicorn Yeah tbh I think mos tknow the OP is trolling as most of the games havehad spome pretty ladies in them and one person's pretty is ifferenrt from another's anyway and even if the game hasn't had any pretty ladies using the CC you can always make your protagonist one. I've never failed in making something I don't like looking at even before adding any mods. So tbh I haven't had a problem with what Bioware have done in that sense.

I don't find it horrible. Admittedly it was a bit limited in MEA but DAI minus the hair was good.

I feel bad myself whenever I need to hurt animals as well...one of the reasons I hardly use mounts in games my protagonists tend to be very healthy because they walk so much
but I second...or third, the option of having a dragon like this

I don't really like killing animals in vidya games - even hostile ones!! - but at least various kinds of large cat would be a change of pace from all the wolves and bears :B

Dragons, nugs, halla (pure evil!) and so forth are all fair game. The long-necked mature female dragons are ok, but the coloured ladies in DAI make me sad. Even Ms. Kaltenzahn, who manages to annoy me in every playthrough. For the rest, it is the inverse: nugs are pure evil, halla are ok with me, but I want a flesh-eating kind. They'll roam the Exalted P(l)ains, killing and eating all the shemlen.  Fenris also talked about tigers... and then there's the "spotted cats" on Seheron and Par Vollen...so jaguars/cheetah's

I don't really like killing animals in vidya games - even hostile ones!! - but at least various kinds of large cat would be a change of pace from all the wolves and bears :B I used to make sad noises everytime I had to off a bear in Skyrim and DAO. DAI bears are so-so as they just have too much hitpoints. Not fun.
I guess if we get big predatorial cats, they will behave pretty much like stealth assassins, jumping on our necks from trees or bushes.

Killing bears is fine. There are millions of them in the Hinterlands and their population is unsustainable. Their numbers must be thinned so the rest may live.
Surprised we’ve encountered no demon bears yet, though.
