I used to see Passionstyr a bit back in the day. Can't remember a thing about the player though. Rings a big frickin gong though. There was something weird about him, just cannot for the life of me remember what. but to be honest I try and avoid joining his games because the connection isn't great. That's probably it lol.

Yes, I guess that's the cause: he seems to only be playing on-host and given how bad his host is, I'm not surprised that he doesn't get pugs… 1/4 of time, that would be enough.

Every time I bumped into PassionsTyr he was always playing vs Geth, and now I see he has 400 Geth Masteries. I don't recall his host quality but the few times I played with him he used to nuke small groups of enemies without much logic.

He's on my FL. I haven't noticed anything strange. I see him active in game quite often, but to be honest I try and avoid joining his games because the connection isn't great. Every time I bumped into PassionsTyr he was always playing vs Geth, and now I see he has 400 Geth Masteries. I don't recall his host quality but the few times I played with him he used to nuke small groups of enemies without much logic. Same here - lots of lag and and preset Geth lobbies. Never understood why he goes all lvl4 full ham on Gold given how experienced he is. Apparently he ends up playing solo alot, so it makes more sense now...

I've been trying to learn how to reload-cancel recently with mixed results It's OK, I happen to be rusty as hell, as I've not played regularly for quite some time... But failing from time to time is also part of the fun in this game . As for reload cancel you'll just have add the E key to the quick-slot F7 and you're in business. You'll quickly get the hang of it.

Test out what is most comfortable for you. Also note that reload-cancel has a slightly different timing depending on the weapon, i.e the Widow takes a little longer to reload than the Claymore. The Javelin can be a little tricky since you have to keep track of both the reload-cancel and the "woop" charge-up before the shot. It will become muscle memory fairly quickly

Also note that reload-cancel has a slightly different timing depending on the weapon Very true. Something that might help anyone learning, there's a visual tell. You can cancel once your ammo bar refills. Seems obvious but there's a difference in the time between when the ammo bar visually reloads first, and when your reload animation finishes after. The red bar will instantly fill roughly 50% of the way through the animation. If you cancel at 45% and the bar isn't full, even with lag, you probably won't get the reload off.
When it's down to the wire I won't even check the numbers, I'll just peripherally wait for the red line to fill then cancel it. (Or more likely hit it too early, fail the reload cancel, madly go for a Thermal Clip Pack to reload only for that to screw up and go through the reload animation all over again, by which time I instead have to start pressing OPs Pack like crazy to avoid the damage I'm currently face-tanking, only to then die with a shiny corpse resulting in having to use a Medi-gel. Yeah, that's how that usually goes.)
 This was a screenshot I took when I started a solo game and used ~changeteam for the first time. Was kind of eerie calmly walking around them.

It will become muscle memory fairly quickly Thanks, currently I have the usual WASD for movement and my powers are on my mouse (mouse button 3, 4 and scroll wheel up). I wonder if I can put my medigel as scroll wheel down (normally used for weapon swap but seeing as I rarely take 2 weapons I can just map that to something else). Will have to play around and see what I'm most comfortable with, I just hate having to use the quickslot buttons |
