I hope this isn't that ancestor, since that already eliminates any possibility of roleplaying that aspect of the character. 

I guess it wouldn't be his though, since he specifies that his ancestor was male while it's almost certain that there will be at least male or female options. 

I read the title too fast and I saw it as Assassin's Creed Vanilla. I hope it's not a premonition for the game itself.

I like the axes logo. I'm laughing at the Easter egg having the title of the game and nobody trying to plug it as the game title in the rumor/leak/fake mills over the last year.

I just learned there was an achievement list leaked back at the end of March that said the game was called Vahalla. Might be fake, as the Templar order came to be long after the Vikings age ended and the list mention them. But Vikings mostly attacked monasteries in England (more wealth and easily transportable) back in those days so expect lots of religious enemies anyhow.

As for Osto's ancestor, I get the feeling we might actually play a "Viking's adoption" protag instead.

The next Assassin's Creed game, Valhalla, will be revealed tomorrow with a 4 minute trailer.

And its missing a Master Assassin achievement. They all have one.

I unlocked mine on Odyssey today and got Evie for my ship crew.

This has been a good week for gaming news. First with the great BF 2 news and now this! I just hope we get a solid release date from a reliable source when the trailer drops tommorow...I need something new to look forward to and help hold me over for the still long wait for DA 4. I mean 2021 could belong to Ass Creed and 2022 is the Year of the Dragon...lets hope. I just also want to know so I have some idea when to start my 'canon' Odyssey playthrough and hopefully the stars will align where I can finish up DAI then 2nd PT with Breakpoint and all the DLC then the canon PT of Odyssey.

I mean if they improve on Odyssey and DA4 ends up being better then Inquisition...I could easily see most of the year that they are released in belonging to both games.

Yes, all the way back to the first game and especially AC2 they revealed that basically all religions were wrong and that in reality the Isu were the ones who created humanity. Adam and Eve were hybrids, and eventually led humanity in a rebellion against the Isu. The protagonists are descendants of them, hence their special abilities.

I imagine we’ll see some Nordic Isu in some capacity (since they’re all dead by this time due to the solar cataclysm), either in the main game or DLC.
