This would be great. It's a feature I'd like to see in any and every game going forward. It was a huge improvement to Odyssey. It's quite commons in MMOs, people usually call it transmog (short for transmogrification). Although, in MMOs, it usually cost (in-game and/or cash shop) money and they don't all use the same exact system. I'm a total abuser of said feature when it's not tied to the cash shop. Fashion!

Kotaku @kotakuAssassin's Creed Valhalla is bringing back the instakill hidden blade as part of an effort to bring back some of what made the series unique. Social stealth is back, too. bit.ly/3fHBpfw“Eivor receives the hidden blade quite early on,” Ismail told me, referring to Valhalla’s main character. “We continue with the idea that Eivor is not a trained assassin. Eivor is a Viking who receives this badass weapon and has to learn very quickly. Early in the experience, Eivor will learn a technique that, with the right timing ... can one-shot-kill virtually anybody.” “We have a cool new spin on it,” Ismail told me. “But, yes, social stealth is back.” He said bringing that back was a “major piece” of ensuring that Valhalla exhibits the series’ most distinctive traits. How does social stealth co-exist make sense for axe-swinging Vikings? Bear in mind that the game is about them invading England. “The idea that a Norse person or a Viking is in a place that they’re not wanted, for them to sort of go incognito and kind of hide in the crowd, if you will, made a lot of sense,” he said.

Or getting totally confused by the social stealth...when that stuff should be in more games. I have the feeling I'm going to like Valhalla more than Odyssey (which I have yet to finish...I have 70 hours in the game, but I'm not near done, it might be too much for me).

I mean, I started playing AC with Origins and Odyssey, so I was used to 'one-hit-kills' being conditional at lower levels, but eventually getting powerful enough to one-shot anything (except major bosses). And after playing some of the older games, I'm fine either way. We'll just have to wait to see how Valhalla handles it, and how crackerjack your timing has to be for those one-shot-kills. "Social Stealth" on the other hand has always been a bit hilarious. People balk at the 'magical' elements in AC, when Social Stealth is pure sorcery.

Social stealth have included a lots of sub-systems depending on the AC game: bribery, notoriety levels (have to remove wanted posters to reduce it or pay bribes), hiding in various things from hay to crowds or carriages, paying for distractions, etc.

I am glad they realized that the need to have some influence from what stood out and made the prior Assassin's Creed games unique. That is what I am asking for them to do, I still aside from the name and use of the Isu still don't think Odyssey stood out as a game as part of the franchise. Now that is coming from a person that bought the original Assassin's Creed game and played all most of the games in the franchise so my view is probably a little more lopsided.
Yes I can move stealthy in a fort and backstab everyone, but that isn't much different then playing another action game and being behind the enemy for me. Its the stealth kills without being noticed or the hidden blade being a recognizable item in the games. It doesn't have to be exactly like the prior games, but it would be nice to have some influence from the prior games which I didn't see in Odyssey.

Does this mean I'm going to sentenced to death by every guard in the kingdom just because I climb onto a roof that's not in a restricted area again? Or how I can just sit next to two people on a bench while covered in blood and yet the guards not notice me as they run by mere feet away?

I just wish there were more moments in games like Origins/Odyssey etc. where you could just actually sit and enjoy the view or do some fishing, just standing looking at the view is not quite as immersive. It was one thing I REALLY enjoyed about AC3 was the roaming and hunting and just standing in a tree fork enjoying the scenery.

Fishing, Gwent in TW3 and others all act as tempting bait to keep players coming back. I should go.

I hope they also make you invest emotionally in community you build, so that if we have kids, a spouse etc. that they are deeper and more meaningful relationships via dialogue etc. so that it actually means something to grow the community or defend it etc.
TD2 tried that with the community centres but I just never get hooked because all you are doing is updating it and getting the occasional comment.

Oh, it actually hurt my thumbs to, so to speak. Other than the right lure, you usually have to stand in a fairly specific spot to catch a legendary. I found that if Arthur's marker on the map was on, or touching, the crown of the legendary fish, then it was usually fairly quick.

Hanako Ikezawa why you using that horrible GIF at me?????? Why can't those of us who enjoy these things in real life enjoy them in a game? Hopefully Valhalla will not force you to like Odyssey did.
