I think I'll try getting out of Norway pretty quickly when I get my grubby hands on the game. Only thing giving me pause would be Jorraptors commentary on getting Excalibur. Norway is divided into low-level, Southern areas and the higher-level, Northern areas. I completed the lower level stuff 100%, and left the higher level stuff for the obvious, inevitable return. For context, I think I recall the higher level area having a suggested power level of 180. I can guess where several legendary items might be just by looking at the map, but I don't think they're accessible in the early going. Hell, you don't even get the "AC Valhalla" screen until you leave Norway. It would be crazy to obtain a legendary item before achieving the title intro screen. 😄

Today Eivor avenged her family, her clan and regained her honor. Also, plundered everything with a bear banner before the final fortress. The boss fight was weird. The bow didn't want to aim at him and I had no idea what triggered the stage of it (my heatlh? I was under 25% with 0 ration, ahahaha). Meet a strange dude on England-that-wasn't-England. Saw a sad story of a guy who died by wolves too. I also realized that only the big wealth thing show up on the compass, if you zoom on the map on discovered areas, you'll find smaller wealth cache (mostly ore and leather). I don't think I'm going to do those unless I stumble upon them. You'd rethink when you start wanting to upgrade. I see a gold node on the map, I'll make it a point to get it, opening up the zone in the process.

I'm giving the evil spirit zones or whatever a wide berth at the moment. Removing curses isn't too difficult.
I also cleared a castle though I'm pretty sure it's linked to a quest because I see disable / sabotage markers on ballistaes, the oil pot above the gate.
Also did some cairns and discovered standing stones. Found a vault with a statue. Also linked to a quest yet unfound; have to find three daughters of somebody who possess the keys to the statue which in turn will open the vault. I think there's a piece of armour in the vault.

I've already had an overleveled zealot come after me It's the mercenary problem all over again, except when I tried hiding in a bush to spring an assassination on him, it didn't work. He spotted me before I got the prompt. So I ran like the weakling that I am. I don't think the folks at Ubisoft understand how people hold cats. Also petted a dog! I finally finished the Grantebridge arc, and have just reached Sigurd's encampment, where I met a guy that makes Sigurd look like a pacifist. I feel like something is going to go wrong here.

dragontartare , I think they gave a plush toy to the mocap actor; here, pretend it's a kitty. I recruited the Berserker. at the end of Njal. I wish then I would be able to give him a baby brown bear. Had the heebeejeebees with the dang animus anomaly. My hair was raising every moment Layla was doing the jumps. The stupid thing looked as though it would vanish any second. Her behaviour is unexpectedly different from the ACOD version. Toned down, less gung ho. The way she stared at the staff. What gives? Kassandra handled it fine but she went nuts apparently. What's the difference between these two? The purity of hybrid blood? More preparation for Kassandra? Kassandra was more grounded? Edit. Liking the music that's playing now. It has an electronic beat to it.

Followed the crowing and found this flock of roosters with body pieces. I just realised there's a white kitty in the longboat.

I don't think I'm going to do those unless I stumble upon them. It's not really worth chasing them in the lower Power areas where they give 25 ore/leather and sometimes Supplies. Just get those in your path, but some are too well hidden, so you can just ignore them if you don't see a direct way.

Or there is another quest with three daughters and a statue.

This brings to mind I am wondering what everyone's power levels are who are spending an extended period of time in Norway. This also brings to mind that one meme where you have a weak arse boss being pursued by a Player Character who has done everything. ...Well so much for my 'concerns' about this being a short game. I think I left Norway somewhere around Power 40. By the time I finished the two Power 20 areas in Britain I was well into Power 150 (but I did a full clear of a Power 90 dream area). Now I am closing on 200 while doing a 55 area. Played nearly 30 hours.

What was their reason for hiding the skill tree? Speculation from my part, but I think they wanted to generate a "surprise" effect and reduce the stress building a character cause on certain players (people here might not have this issues, but I've seen plenty of people complaining about that). With the fog, people aren't overwhelmed by all the choices so they can't stress over it, and once you uncover you have something "nice" to look for in a few more power levels. And they probably thought that people who want to pre-build a character will use outside resources anyhow. Also, it's super easy to change where you allocated your points. Funny thing is, as it is, it stresses me out.
But seriously, thought I cleared up the skill tree yesterday by redistributing points to unveil all the fog. Turns out, once you leave the game and come back, the fog is back as well.

What's the difference between these two? The purity of hybrid blood? More preparation for Kassandra? Kassandra was more grounded?. Her personality is partially because she has a kind of inhibitor chip according to Shawn, and her weirdness with the staff is because she...you know, murdered her friend with it. Same reason why Allanah and Kiyoshi aren’t there. Unlike Shawn and Rebecca, they had the correct reaction to someone murdering a colleague, asset to the cause, and friend.

Well, working from home atm and using VPN to play the game 10 hours before my local release does help. So I have been playing for about 4 full days.

I was referring to their reaction to Layla murdering Victoria, which boils down to “Eh, it happens.”

So I guess the crew will not raid if the required power level is high. I tried to get them to raid a monastery where the mods are highlighted with a skull, require power around 160. I used the horn, nobody came.

If it is, just know the third daughter (you may find her first, don't know if their locations are preset) is Power 360, which is endgame level. I stumbled upon her while being 170 and it took a dozen tries until I won. I haven't checked the reward in the vault yet, but it better be juicy.

That's weird. Why does it work when I use it in another raid and not this one. Kind of stupid if you ask me.

I just did The Wallop. Took me like three attempts. At first I dodged a lot which didn't work very well. Second attempt I tried parrying but the camera angle was bad and the old man flattened Eivor. Third try, I dodged and watched for that bright flash from his fist which meant he's swinging his wallop. The next time he did it, I hit Q to parry and that stunned him. I saw the hint to hit R so I did and that finished him off immediately.

For me Q just does a powered punch and all the others I tried do nothing. I think it has to do with timing. I was trying out Q before the fight and Eivor did something like a punch. I checked the key bindings again and Q is tied to left hand action which makes sense since the shield is on the left arm. So Q would do the same in a fistfight. There wasn't any other option. Like you said earlier. Just hitting J quickly does nothing, it has to be held so the crew will raid. Same goes for Q. Watch for that bright flash indicating an incoming attack and hit Q.
