I can't wait until the usual suspects come here and trash this place and the people who are actually excited for a MET Remaster.
Well, a remaster is awfully boring, and of no use at all to us PC Master Race types. But that doesn't make its existence a bad thing, even if it's just about the furthest thing from exiting ME could do with the property..
Adding some new endings might win back some goodwill.

Just saying...
Thaq twould make it a remake not a remaster in that instance. Just Sayingt
I like to replay Mass Effect every once in a while, so my choice for CPU in my next PC depends on whether they'll fix the AMD issue in ME1. This could save me some money.
That's why I wen tback to Intel for my new machine
Apparently, it was an FX issue that isn't present on Ryzen.
-Ryzen 5 2600x owner, currently playing through ME1.

You’ve already exposed them, since you said this place is monitored.
Anyone can make vague claims then say they were right because insider.
The point is being vague enough on the things you know, so people will not be sure of who you are. Also, feeding false info on certain things, to throw people off. As far as I know, for example, the MET remaster is not a thing, in spite of having several rumours of it this year already, to the contrary. Or, my imaginary friend is in no position to know about it, since it got outsourced. But I am getting that it was considered at some point, but shot down. And I didn't care, so I didn't prod further.
Was the MET remaster supposed to be confirmed today in the XBOX live event? Or the EA Play event, next month? Because the article I read said it was going to be announced in the XBOX event today. Not on the venturebeat article, though.
There's also the fact that ME is not named as the title of the EA HD game, but it seems that the author has deducted it, assumed it, or was somehow told that it's it from someone that was there and in the know. Is the investor transcript open for journalists to attend? I've not personally attended or sought to attend one, so I don't know. Also, every other outlet that says it's the ME remaster, simply cites the venturebeat article. Now, obviously this journalist is legit, not questioning that, but I don't know about the accuracy of the information being fed to him. Also, throwing it away at the end, more like an afterthought, makes me think that maybe he's not so confident in this source. I mean, if I had that info, I would have made this as the main news of the story. That's just me, though.

So, different location than the Heleus Cluster? Time jump? Big event that shakes the place up?
Well. I've not been fed specifics. My guess is -Post Kett war -After getting buttfucked back to the stone age, the Kett form a small population society, with the intention to survive -Instead of abducting people, now the accept converters -Ryder is played up in codex entries to make him/her seem more heroic and palatable, compared to ME:A, with intent to revisit Ryder at a later title, perhaps? Make people wonder "how did Ryder do it?" -Nexus is expanded to Citadel levels -More cities on planets -Possible expansions beyond Heleus, to other clusters, inhabited by single races, i.e. this is the Turian cluster, the Quarian one etc. -Able to visit more planets and some small hub worlds, that aren't all that big, though, nor defined/developed. -Most likely stand alone title, not long after the events of what would have been ME:A3, since they don't want to move the timeline too far ahead. But that's just my guess.

*shrugs* Sure. But there's nothing sirpetrakus could say about MENext that you would accept as truth, right? The standards you're applying make that impossible at this time.
Of corse not. Because there is no way he can prove them. And if he can't prove his claims, than are just supposition. Maybe supposition than can be right. But we'll know in the next years. If he just word his supposition as such, I have no problem. But claiming stuff on the internet with no proof (that can be still made up anyway) will never covince me that is true. A lucky guess at most.

I would assume they just use Unreal Engine 3 with some visual upgrades if not Unreal Engine 4.
It would definitely be in UE3. There was a fan project that tried to port it to UE4, but the games just broke so bad, the work required was, well, let's say not worth it. Games break even between versions of the same engine and that includes UE3, as well.

New endings? That would make it a remake. So, new ending? Too bad From Ashes isn't part of the main story. Javik would be required for the suicide, I mean beam, run. He, Shepard, Anderson and other squadmate make up the beam. They encounter Cerberus soldiers. One of the squadmates tells Shepard to go forward to open the arms while they hold off the keystone cops. Just as TIM is about to do his fist pump thing, one of the squadmates shoots him. Everyone gets on the magic carpet to fly up to lala land. After thing talks, Javik will stay behind to shoot the tube. Shepard calls for a shuttle. As the shuttle heads back to the SR2, a red light can be seen. Javik gets his vengeance.
Instead of adding, would removing any content be considered a remake? What I would do is have Hackett's ending. Right after Shepard passes out, and the arms to the Citadel are fully opened, the crucible fires destroying the reapers. Hackett gives his epilogue speech.

Remasters are no new to add stuff. The recent Rune Factory 4 Special for Switch (remaster of Rune Factory 4 on the 3DS) added quite a few things to the game, like story episodes (expecially post marriage) and so the Xenoblade remaster, or the Kingdom Heart 1/2 Remasters, who added optional bosses and new cutscene, some from the Final Mix version of the game (was Japan only in the PS2 era) some completely new.
So, even Remasters can add some stuff. But non big changes to the story.

Was this fan port using source code of the game like the people remastering the game would have access to?

KH Remasters didn't add anything new they just added it to the game outside of Japan. And the only reason that even happened was because KH localization added stuff to the game when they released in the west.

I think the main feature of this remaster will be adding all of DLC's. But I'am hoping that, when it comes to graphics, they will do more than ALOT does for the trilogy. But nevertheless, I'm happy ME is making its way back in some form ^^ (****ASSUMING IT WILL AND ITS NOT ALL FAKE NEWS****)
And tbh I don't know if I would trust BW with a whole remake of the trilogy. Remaster is nice and simple, you cannot f up too much

UE4 is very friendly. I've used it, as well. There is a lot of documentation and you can have graphs about everything that is broken and how to fix it, depending on the tutorials provided and those are in-depth, as well. Sure, the source code would help. It's still a mess, if the game breaks every third line of code. It's not impossible. Just tedious and time consuming, in either case. It depends on how much of a remaster you want to make. Personally, I wouldn't go to UE4, as it is too much work, for a job that doesn't offer a big payoff, for the publisher. I would cut the cost as close as I could. Newer versions of UE3, textures and an ENB/reshade thing and that would be it. That way you can maximize your profit.

Well, I never watched the differences with the original Final Mix and the Remasters, still stuff was added. And now that I think about it, even The World End With You remaster for Switch added some story stuff. Is actually quite common for Remasters to add some stuff to the package to attract older fan.

I've been watching the usual suspects to see if anything popped up, and the silence alone was pretty telling. No one wanted to touch this directly (which makes even more likely to be true). Even Shinobi, the Mass-ive fanboi that he is, didn't touch it. That said...
Shinobi602 @shinobi602 To this day, nothing else quite touches the excitement, mystery and wonder that I got when I laid eyes on the first early screenshots of @masseffect 14-15 years ago.
