Yeah arc nades are so delicious versus geth. Quarians are the gods of weapon creation in this game: arc nades, reegar, arc pistol, hell even the geth were created by quarians, so GI, geth trooper.

Drellguard is still going to top board. I don't give a fuck if it's platinum or gold. Points are in the small infantry and no one shits on them like a drellguard. A GI, QMI, and DAI will give him a run for the money and are probably better all around at dispensing the garbage boss spawn but a competent player will still focus on the smalls and depleting the budget and will top board, jmo. It's totally untrue.GI (if the player is good enough with it ) and DAI will outscore drellvana on plat in 9 out of 10 games.I know it from my own experience, including with another BSNer.Drell is a weak character and especially vs geth can,t be so effective.

In a comedic twist, for my second game of the night tonight, I dropped into a lobby with two QMSes. I switched to mine and we started as a trio, getting Hazard White Reapers. We were joined by a Batarian Sentinel on wave 2 or 3, and lost them during wave 10 or 11, so we both started and extracted with the three of us. I was using the Striker and Scorpion, which gave him some much-needed crowd control, and the match was just a real blast, taking about 19 minutes I think. I should add I was mostly kidding earlier when I talked down about him, I just think that you have to be really good with your gun handling to make him shine, and I'm just not that good with my guns. I also have more fun when there's more interaction and synergy between my kit's weapons and powers, whereas the QMS is more about the straight pew-pew and feels a lot more one-note than most of the other kits.

I don't really have an agenda but the DA's reave-cluster-biotic-carpet-bombing is powerful enough to raise my interest hearing an argument pro DV. They don't have a "role", but the meta of the game changes the faster the game goes and the more skilled the players involved are. Taking the Drellguard and Drelldept as example; it is true that the Drelldept can dish out a higher amount of dps against a spawn. However, that advantage becomes less and less important the faster the spawns get wiped, to the point of being almost non existant when everything in a spawn dies before your third grenade can hit. On the other hand, in such situations the time spent navigating from one spawn to the other starts playing a bigger and bigger relative role on the whole. As a result, the Drellguard's ability to basically teleport between them becomes more and more useful. At a certain point, which is not that hard to reach at all with 4 bsners, or even 2-3, on the team, the Drellguard's advantage outweights the Drelldept's. To the point that when you play with 4 very good players on the team, it's not even a contest really. Ah, so the role we talk about is ... sc00re wh00ring, got it . Fair enough, spawn commuting can become a factor and you did say this is mainly for gold. ok, thanks. Personally I found that as the pace quickens into becoming a race the risk of every BC increases just as much. Admittedly this is more pronounced on platinum, but blind charges do get me into too large or undepleted spawns, in front of a turrets, on the wrong end of a banshee/praetorian/primed phantoms, I arrive before my shield/healthgate cooldown, etc. As a DV in a fast paced match I am reliant on my squad to take aggro off me, sometime rezzing me and occasionally clean up a round without me.As for the DAI recon mine, arming time becomes a non factor once you settle into a chain of cloak-detonate-plant-weapon-weapon-... cycles. On the right map at the right place the chain can stretch entire rounds (for solos where the pesky squad does not mess up the spawns ).

Yeah and the DV is also so dependent on nades, run out of those and he can't do much, the adept still have OP Reave and the DAI have his "lol Iwin" Recon mine. For Gold the DV can wreck house with the nades since there are so many low HP mooks but on Platinum he's a lot weaker than many other kits.

On the right map at the right place the chain can stretch entire rounds (for solos where the pesky squad does not mess up the spawns ). It's not necessarily about score whoring. If you're playing with a good team, the aim is usually to get the game down as fast as possible, so the faster you're killing the better, simple as that. As for your fear of going down if you're too aggressive, you need to learn to judge certain things, and it takes experience in playing this sort of matches. But remember that the faster the game goes, the more often (relatively speaking) you can use your grenades and your consumables, to the point that when the game is super fast paced you can (and should) charge without thinking twice and start spamming nades like no tomorrow, and use your consumables if you're put in a tight situation (mostly ops packs). So long as you know when not to charge Banshees and Praetorians, you're golden. Phantoms stagger when you charge so you've got the time to dodge/rekt them (the latter is better). As for the recon mine, I'm not sure you understand the issue. The problem is that, if the whole group aggroes the spawn at the same time, by the time you can activate your mine everything's dead, and therefore you have a basically useless power from that point of view. I can't remember now if the debuff starts right away, I guess it's half useful in that case. I guess you can (and should) predict the first spawn and place the mine in advance, so you can use it there, but it only works for the first one of each wave, so...

TSol or Quarksman, eh? That's a difficult one. I choose the Human Soldier. I observe your coy humor! I don't think there's nothing wrong with disliking a character. But if that reason is because the character "sucks" then you are the scrub and thus an OBSOLETE MULE.

GI is a broken character with every advantage in the world offensively. Even so, it doesn't have the CC that Drell do. Drell adept is my personal favorite character (tied with QME)but even I know that if you slap a Wraith on both, the DV will be three kills ahead due to the massive damage output with weapon bonuses from Charge and the like. Drell being a weak character is lol worthy speech. All a QMI has to do is cloak and nade everything to hell.

I guess you can (and should) predict the first spawn and place the mine in advance, so you can use it there, but it only works for the first one of each wave, so... Yes, it takes a few seconds before the mine becomes active with the de-buff and you can detonate it. On large maps on Gold especially it's not really that great if you play with a competent team as they most likely will kill the spawns before you can set it up again.
I haven't used the DAI in team games in a very long time but some time ago I used the Volus Engineer who also have the recon mine for a couple of Platinum pugs. One of the games was on Reactor where it worked out really great but the second game was on Condor and there I found it to be quite lacking due to all the large open spaces, plant the recon mine and by the time it became active most of the spawns were dead or had already moved out of it's radious.

I don't know if anyone already wrote this, but I think that the Quarksman is good with Assault Rifles. Valkyrie and Particle Rifle are my favourites, followed by Lancer.

So many scrubs in this thread! XD Indeed, first the Quarksman and now the Drellgod. I don't play that kit but I can see that it has the right idea (i.e. lots of speed and no lolfitness). The git gud is strong with this thread Quarksman really only lacks one thing that I need in ME:A I can put a bayonet on my Saber but it just kinda sits there instead of getting shoved into some random Cerb Engineer's gut.

As for the DAI recon mine, arming time becomes a non factor once you settle into a chain of cloak-detonate-plant-weapon-weapon-... cycles. On the right map at the right place the chain can stretch entire rounds (for solos where the pesky squad does not mess up the spawns ). As for the recon mine, I'm not sure you understand the issue. The problem is that, if the whole group aggroes the spawn at the same time, by the time you can activate your mine everything's dead, and therefore you have a basically useless power from that point of view. Nope, the difference is, your statement is about gold (mook) spawns which will be wiped and I keep thinking in terms of a platinum spawns (bosses) which will not. The latter requires several barrages even from the whole team. Here, the initial arming delay is less of a factor.

I don't know if anyone already wrote this, but I think that the Quarksman is good with Assault Rifles. Valkyrie and Particle Rifle are my favourites, followed by Lancer. Careful, you're in danger of bringing the thread back on topic! Yes, QMS is a headshot machine with the Valkyrie. It's a bit lacking against big armour, though drill ammo can be used to exploit double hits, plus you have the debuff from Tactical Scan.

Still, even if the bosses are still standing, after 3 secs usually all the mooks are down, and that's something like 3/4th of the points of the spawn (spawn points, not lolscoreboardpoints). But yeah, obviously my reasoning was indirectly dependant on difficulty too.
