Looking at this image, I realize that the these people are Inquisition fanclub LARPers: - not!IronBull (no missing eye), - not!Calpernia (could actually be her), - not!Inquisitor (no red sash) - not!Harding (human)

A lot of what I have seen has been over-excitement from the non BioWare fans out there I doubt that over-excitement is from non Bioware fans. Bots I would understand, but non Bioware fans? No. That is not detachment by any stretch Bioware's video, I'd say, was very detached. Hence the May/June of 2019 time-date I gave The November '19 Bioware blog stated that DA4 was still in pre-production. So it's quite unlikely that it would be in full production since May/June 2019. Unless Casey would be sandbagging. If pre-production really lasted from 2018-2020, I have a feeling we would see a lot less in terms of the actual images shown. Again, if BioWare chose to show this concept art here, I suspect it's due to them A) locking down elements they wanted to show that are likely to appear in some form when they are complete That was less than 0.01% of a game. There is no game.
[article] If this is true, I think the risk of showing what they did in point A is an easy choice to make at this stage of development, so they dont get picked apart like with previous titles.
Not that this is stopping anyone from doing so anyway... [/article] There was no November 2019 BioWare Blog. I checked the Sept 2019 one, which was for Anthem. Another Sept 2019 which was moving to the new office, Anthem and SW. Almost every blog in 2019 was Anthem related, or the attack/apology written by Hudson. Can you show me where it referenced pre-production in the blogs? I don't recall seeing that.

Being away for 12 hours, thread exploded. Though I really expected 30 pages already. Having sleep on this, my impression is that there is no dwarf in what was shown. And like two elves, one of which is Solas. ... Which would support the game being set after Solas removed the Veil and that ship/floating rocks concept art is very much how things looks like now. Also, Tevinter thriving with all the magic flowing around in another concept art. The Dwarves probably end up relinking with the Titans again and the Elves returned to what they were. That leaves humans and Qunari around. ... Also, there seems to be no distinct class segregation. Maybe they went back to DAO where everyone can use every weapon/armor as long as they have the stats for it? Or they turned class progression into a classless system? I'm a bit worried about this to be honest. Judging from the Tevinter Nights, quite some people (whom my Inquisitor would never have told about it) like frickin' Ferdinand "I want to understand people so I can convert them more easily" Genitivi seem to know about the Dread Dog stuff. I would want to know how the Dalish react to the revelations, but as of now, I'm getting the impression that they would not even get to know, unlike most humans. ... Eeeeew... I would definitely not want to be forced into playing a representative of "magic-hating muggles" fighting La resistance-style against the more magic-attuned dwarves/elves/'Vints.
... Weapons and armour are ok with me, but classes... I dunno. The whole way how magic is done would be turned upside-down and I guess quite a lot of people who want to play non-magical would call foul at having to deal with the "hocus pocus" now as well.
I wonder if the qunari lady is a rogue (bc she's dual-weilding and wearing antaam-saar). Or if DW is gonna be possible for warriors again. Oooh, what if her name is Tallis? I don't think the Qunari have a One Tallis Limit. I'm reeeeaally wondering about our background now, with the Lord of Fortune stuff and where we start the game off, and especially how different races(PLEEEEASE don't be human-only!)/classes will be implemented into it. Perhaps we get dual-wielding back for warriors? I still want other weapons but butter knifes. + 1 for seeing too many humans I am also a bit worried about the lack of Dwarves and the abundance of human sized figures. ... Re: Inquisitor There’s only a handful of my inquisitors where I would be disappointed if they weren’t present for Solas’ downfall. Ideally it would be like DAA where you get to choose between new/old PC. However that is obviously unrealistic. I’ve thought a lot about it and come to a conclusion. If I don’t get full control of the Inquisitor, all I really need is a small scene in the very end. A one armed shadow falls on a defeated (potentially dead) Solas. If he’s alive he can say something referring to the shadow as Inquisitor/Friend/Vhenan. Cut to black, headcanon here we go, the end. Good to see I'm not alone with that. ... Yeah, that sounds similar to my stance. If the Inquisitor is involved in making descisions or just doing talk, I want to rolayplay both, instead of having some OOC-template stand-in (DAI Hawke ...). Either that, or make it ambigious/not at all Unless... Unless they're all origins? Maybe they are all potential player character origins? That would be cool, and amazeballs! I'd go for flaming skellie head immediately. On the other hand, if there are not counter-appearances... we never had gender-locked backgrounds, just different paths in the same origin (city elf). I'm holding on to my fantasy of a Solas vs Morrigan decision at the very end. Elven glory without the veil or a different pro everyone else kind of more equal future. Maybe getting rid of magic altogether.Biggest "mages vs. templars" binary decision ever.

You don't know that it was scrapped because of Anthem, it could have simply been that they scrapped the game and sent people to work on Anthem because there was nothing else for them to work on. It doesn't make sense to scrap a game just because they are needed to work elsewhere they can pickup the project again if they thought it was going to work especially since it would have been only a couple of months of work elsewhere its not that they are shelving the game for three years to make a new Mass Effect game instead of Dragon Age. I really don't understand the whole "the only reason why they stopped working on DA4 and cancelled it was because of Anthem". Especially since we don't know where in development Dragon Age 4 was for all we know the story just wasn't working out and instead of trying to constantly patch it to make it work they decided to start fresh and come up with something new. It was stated, or at least heavily implied, in the Scheier’s article on DA. Which, as far as I recall, is the only source of the project being reeboted. kotaku.com/the-past-and-present-of-dragon-age-4-1833913351The fact that Darrah was sent to work on Anthem and help salvaging it is, to me, an indication that project was rebooted mainly to justify sending most of the DA team on Anthem, as he’s one of the leads of the DA team. Even if its implied by Scheier's article doesn't mean its accurate, especially since there aren't any other articles to confirm or deny what is happening. I will admit I have a bias against a lot of Scheier's articles as well for it never feels like he lets his sources speak for themselves, he editorializes them so much I have a hard time thinking its accurate to what he was being told. I don't expect him to name people directly, but I would like to see their words for myself and not his summary of what he was told. To me it makes it nothing more then gossip since its no longer us hearing what the sources said. To me it just seems to be a leap for them to cancel the project just because they moved people off of it. I have been on projects that have been put on hiatus for six months to a year for some reason, but we don't abandon it we go back to when the issues around it have been resolved. Even with the quote you use if I had to put blame somewhere it would be the return of Casey Hudson more then Anthem needing people. Which is something that normally happens when someone new is put in charge, they have a different vision so they alter or scrap active projects to something they want to see.

Amusingly, whenI first watched the clip, I thought this was some padding taken from that Disney movie... Mermaid something? In any case, underwater combat is one element I care nothing about.
The ability to swim though would be nice... hey, if jumping was a revelation in Inquisition we can tackle swimming.

Does no one else think the tall, left-centered companion is Mae? The lightened up image even further leads me to believe so. Yeah, after staring at it for way too long I also started to think it might be Mae.

It’s fair to not trust him. Although if we discount his article, we don’t know if the project was rebooted or not. We don’t even know if they actually started working on DA4 right after Trespasser. Hudson being the reason behind the cancellation is possible, I guess.

There was no November 2019 BioWare Blog When was the one where Bioware announced the Anthem rework? October? December? I'm pretty sure it was in November. On that same one, by Casey, it was stated that Dread wold was still in pre-production. I'd do it for you, but my work PC is locked off from the blog. Hold on. I'll see if I can find it on my phone.
Edit: September. The same one with the one about moving offices and Anthem.
Other stuff going on.
We have several other big projects in the works. I wish I could tell you more about them, but they're mostly super-secret right now. I can say however that one of our projects has a large and growing team in Edmonton working through pre-production, and based on the progress I am seeing, I can confirm indeed the Dread Wolf Rises by Casey Hudson September 5 2019.
I have in good faith that DA4 has since indeed moved out of pre-production, May/June of 2020.

I agree with several other posters that the one center left is most likely Maevaris.

Cool concept arts are just cool concept arts, otherwise this video was literally nothing. Even after the mandated anthem-y live service bs reset (2-3 years?) they should have something more substantial than a 4 min "we are woking on the game" video. Also some of the concept art looked like it was made for Joplin (the heist for example). Buuut! Maybe athem's (deserved) failure, the success of JFO and other single player games and the various lootbox/mtx debacles led to EA hitting the reset button once again on the project. So the final/current DA4 is a Joplin 1.5-2.0 and they don't have anything to show because this version has been in development for only 1-1.5 years (or less). Most of the DA team was moved to ME:A and later Anthem when those games started to flounder, so I doubt there was any significant progress on the game until after Anthem's release, which is to say, last year. So yes, 1.5 years of development sounds about right. My guess is the game won't come out until the 2022 holidays or sometime in 2023. Between BW's crappy upper managment, EA's idiotic moarmoney! decisions and now the fkin coronashit making everyone's life miserable I think the earliest release date could be late '23. Though I think it'll be a mid-late '24 release. I'd rather wait for a good game than have another Andromeda. It was fine but if they had another year or so it could have been a much better game.

Biggest "mages vs. templars" binary decision ever. I know. Maybe it's boring. But I want to see what Morrigan is all about. I like her as the ultimate heroine. And I'd like the player to decide the ultimate fate of Thedas. If the veil comes down anyway, then I hope the plot unfolds in a way that we get to make SOME kind of grand decision at a later point that deals with magic. It's all about magic, this world. Love it, hate it. Restrict it, give it everyone. We've seen many faces of what magic can do. So I want to decide what's to be done with it in the end. You know? If the veil is not the endgame scenario but rather fighting the gods over the future of Thedas, that's cool too. I can see this being where the writers are going. The veil comes down, the gods are released. Things get even more fucked up. If so, then perhaps getting rid of the blight and corruption in general (red lyrium) is the endgame. Maybe magic isn't the problem, but the insanity that goes with it. Maybe if we got rid of the corrupting effect, we'd have a better future for everyone. Then the mages vs templars conflict finally ends... and in a less binary way. Still, I'd really really like to at least see the veil come down as this grand mega event. I want to be right in the thick of it. I HATED how ME3 started with the reapers already attacking. Felt so rushed and cheap. I wanted it to happen much later in the game after some build up.

I just realized. The spiders. They have hands.Hands.I used to complain about the presence of spiders, mostly notably that house sized one in DA2. And then they gave then the hands, I'm gonna fight them with both eyes closed. They better disperse into fade air once they die, so that my arachnophobia wouldn't react to their dead carcasses. I got a tarantula to get over my arachnophobia and I have got to say they're the most useless fecking animal I've ever owned. They sit there all day doing sweet feck all unless they're hungry and you throw a cricket to them. My first tarantula used to make a dash for its cave whenever I went near its enclosure. I'm on my 8th one atm. I have nothing against them but I much prefer my snakes and gecko I used to complain about the presence of spiders, mostly notably that house sized one in DA2. And then they gave then the hands, I'm gonna fight them with both eyes closed. They better disperse into fade air once they die, so that my arachnophobia wouldn't react to their dead carcasses. They just want to have a spot o' tea with you...! DRAGON AGE WIVES' Thembo @monster0gem Artist drew some more - While I was scrolling down their twitter looking for the tweet I came across this horror they retweeted - They just want to have a spot o' tea with you...! DRAGON AGE WIVES' Thembo @monster0gem Quick someone post this in the bioware devs twitter accounts. Artist tagged Patrick Weekes and Mark Darrah Quick someone post this in the bioware devs twitter accounts. Oh... it's already been done. At DragonCon a few years back (it was the September before Andromeda was released) Patrick Weekes said he had a phobia of spiders and he had to do some of the work on the spiders for DAI These two look great! If Dread Wolf looks that good in game, he can have his way with Thedas, I won't even care. Also, furry companion isn't black.....hmm. I hope they don't change his face too much in the game, he wasn't the prettiest in DAI but his face had a nice charm about it (I'm still annoyed at the changes to Ashley's face in ME3, she looked like the lovechild of Kim Kartrashian and Victoria Beckham) How long until people ask if we can romance the (possibly) undead party member Seeing as someone wanted to know if Ryder could romance their sibling in Andromeda I wouldn't put hit past people Just caught up with this AND IM SOOOOO FRIGGING HYPED!!! Potential lord of fortune PC! Creepy blight stuff! MEGA BUFF AND FRIGGING HOT QUNARI COMPANION!!! This is everything I wanted to see! I hope they buff her up a bit in the concept art where they're all standing side by side she looks like a tall, slender human woman with horns. The men are buff, the women should be too, it annoys me that the qunari women in the comics and in the trespasser dlc were slender At first I thought this undead companion/character was the bow of the ship... It looks like he has some sort of decoration on his skull But yeah, our leggy girl on the left is... definitely not Harding. And wow - 3rd guy from the right really does look Assassin's Creed. Similar symbol on their belt too... Also QunariLady seems to have black hair here, while they are white in other concept arts and FlameHead doesn't look like the concept art FlameHead, but they are clearly from the same "brand" of FlameHeads. I hope she has darker hair in the game, I'm not a fan of the white hair plus grey skin combo

If the illustration does represent potential origins that doesn't necessarily mean they are gender locked, the artist may have simply been trying to be inclusive. The reason I thought maybe origins is because no one individual is standing out ahead of the others, they are mostly paired up. Honestly, I doubt it. They look like companions sans PC to me. I agree with several other posters that the one center left is most likely Maevaris. Well, either way I'll be happy.

Does no one else think the tall, left-centered companion is Mae? The lightened up image even further leads me to believe so. Yeah, I have a feeling it's her. I'm excited by the prospect.

I think that is more likely, actually....the veil coming down might be a given, and inevitable, but Tresspasser heavily implied this will result in the elven gods being released..also whatever is up with the titans. There could be lots of choices dealing with factions and who we think should rule Thedas. In the meanwhile, Solas' movement could be rising in power, causing chaos while he is pulling strings behind the scenes. But leaving him in power won't be an option, as we know DA4 will conclude his arc.

Underwater adventuring! HYPE!!!!! Maybe my wish for sea battles and pirates will come true in DA4 after all? Or at least the ability to swim, finally?

How about each concept art frame from the vid gets its own CSI thread here?

And fingers crossed we might get a decent underwater adventure in this one. That was high on my wishlist. Another that was high on my wishlist was flying, and it looks like there may actually be flying ships/aravels.

In the interest of CSI: BSN, I attempted to get a closer look at the badge Solas is wearing. History has shown that his accoutrements can be...telling. I admit I'm not very skilled when it comes to image enhancement, but I thought I'd share.

Lucas @fusselkorn"Why would you give a spider hands, BioWare?!", I hear you ask Ask no more, here are some answers Sheryl Chee @sherylcheedeedlite looook DragonMelissaBow and arrowJanowiczDragon face deedliteIm living for that spider with the gun tbh I’m beginning to see the hands as someone strapped underneath a spider to disguise themself, Odysseus style. Like there’s some scenario where we need to sneak through a cave (maybe past darkspawn or sha-brytol or something) and the Obvious Solution(tm) is to tie ourselves to the undersides of giant spiders. But the joke is that they’re really dim foes, so the whole sequence there’s random hands and feet sticking out from under the spiders swigging from bottles, tossing knives, and doing other physical comedy bits. “Did you see that, emissary?” “The spider aiming a bow and arrow at us? Of course, what else would spiders do with their normal human hands?”
