It'll be fine - The Critical Drinker Recognize that name, one of the Youtube reviewers. Yup. Honestly though, some days I wish social media/forums didn't exist. The amount of negative , whining, me me me comments astounds me. What happened to the days of a company making a game and the player liking or not liking it. Nowadays everyone wants a say and it done "their way" Too many people to try and please, therefore many are going to be upset regardless. Just play the game....or don't. (Not directed at you smilesja....directed at everyone in general)

I was actively trying to figure out how such a battle would look like. So me and hubs went to look at Andromeda Architect battles and the Biggest that Anthem had to offer. I think it'd be more like the architect. Except obviously we're going to be able to fly, considering metal wings on TN cover and pink butterfly magic wings on the centipede pic. I'm pretty sure the metal wing on the Tevinter Nights cover is the grey warden's shield, based on its size and placement, and the fact that wardens have the whole griffon wing motif going on all their banners and armour.

I'm kinda curious as to how the sound quality is going to be impact by the pandemic. I know it might sound weird, but the video did showcase the actors recording their lines in their own homes. Soundproofing probably goes a long way in reducing ambient noise and reverb, but I'm sure there's got to be some processing that can be done to alleviate the issue somewhat. It'll be interesting if games releasing after this year showcase some level of fall-off when it comes to sound quality.

The first story in Tevinter Nights feature a dalish elven sorceress, Erelin, who shapeshift between a Halla, a own and a bear. It would be nice to have acess to that skill in DA4.

As you said it seemed those two were recording from their homes, and most VOs don't have home studios and for a while (and maybe still) the recording studios are shut down due to COVID. It's a good year for auditions but not jobs in voice work.

I don’t think they are either. I think so far they might have started with the PC, Solas, and some of the companions. Maybe the bigger ones, these two being like the Cassandra and Varric, or maybe even only for a bit so far for an eventual gameplay reveal. I doubt they have started beyond the major major characters, and even some of them might not have started yet due to real world issues.

If it's what I used to carp about in MEAMP … they pretty much fixed it in Anthem, so I expect going forward, FB games shouldn't have the issue.

Your first line was that you felt optimistic and then the entire rest of the post was how badly Bioware was going to mess things up and everything would suck. I think you mistyped the first sentence, perhaps?
I can't get over how small that giant's head is in the "One moment." pic. XD Definitely related to Bull.
You're misconstruing my post.
Yes, my post points out the long list of issues that do not bode well for DA4. While these issues are presented and I DO have very little confidence that DA4 will be good, there is at least a small amount of hope that it may be as good as Origins or better. Even a small amount of hope is enough to provide optimism. When everybody misconstrues your post, the most logical conclusion is that it was badly written.

It'll be interesting if games releasing after this year showcase some level of fall-off when it comes to sound quality. From what I've seen from various videos, most of them have their own small booth/space that has dampening materials. No software can remove room reverbing from the data without affecting overall quality of the sound, believe me, I've tried them on one rap project...

The main thing I gathered form this is the basically haven't started making it yet. How long until Ea drops the hammer and says dude we've given you 4 years and you have nothing to show for it, get it done in 18 months. It has been six years since the last DA game. One would have hoped that during those years, Bioware would have taken their time, and created a quality DA game. But alas, no. They devoted their time to Anthem and Andromeda which were both shit. Then a studio gets shut down and employees leave. <shakes head> Funny, how DAO and DAI took three years to produce each, yet even with the advancements in technology, DAO still owns DAI in every way.
I don't believe its entirely E.A. fault. Yeah, E.A are assholes, but so is Bioware. After the success of DAO they let that go to their head. I mean just look at what happens to Lilly ending in DAI if you killed her in Origins. I would have been less offended if Bioware gave me the finger instead. <gives a thumbs up> Thanks, Bioware for showing us your appreciation.
What's going to happen is the same shit that happened with DAI.
Step 1: Look over Bethesda's shoulder and use everything they are doing and make it worse or broken in the game.
Step 2: Come up with the cheapest way to tell a shallow and hollow story. I mean a green glowing vagina in the sky looks cool, right? OH! And let's have the Quizzy fall out of a green hole, that looks like he/she is being squeezed out of a demon's green glowing asshole. Time travel? No problem. Want the Elder Scrolls cliché of being a prisoner? We got that covered too!
Step 3: Forget your own lore and blame the fans.
Step 4: Add in everything you can to the game, realize you have no time to finish said items and just leave them. Then get pissed later when fans ask about em.
Step 5: Give yourself another year because if you send this game out now it will be a repeat of DA2. But it will be only slightly better cause, oooo pretty trees!
Step 6: Preach to players that you care about what they think then shut down the main forums.
Step 7: Lie to your fans about how massive the game is and how much content is packed into it.
Step 8: Shove in dialogue that contradicts the previous games. Reuse lines repeatedly during the game. Overemphasize character's facial and body expressions.
Step 9: Be sure there are plenty of ugly hairs, armor, outerwear and formal wear -- especially for the Inquisitor and their Advisors. And make sure the colors of the Inquisition are a clashing eyesore that even Ru Paul would be mortified. And why not make most of the companions look like hobos. Lets at some peacock colors to the Templar's wings on their helms and give eyeliner and female hairstyles to the male npcs!
Step 10: Add in endless amounts of hand holding. From combat to the players attributes and abilities. And get rid of the extra ability slots on the combat wheel and setting up companion tactics. Combat will be a mix of boredom and babysitting. As for the character building, replace tactics with hand holding.
Step 11: Make sure the final boss fight is cheesy, boring, makes little sense and is easy. Not Fable 2 final boss easy, but close to it.
Step 12 Be sure the aftermath of the DLC assumes you will play the Inquisitor again, but you won't.
Step 13: Screw building a big city. Just make a cardboard cutout of Val Royeaux that looks like a modder could create it in a weekend.
Step 14: Bugs. Lots of bugs. And glitches too! Don't forget to turn off the collision. We must have clipping.....everywhere!
Step 15: Ensure the quests are boring as hell, the enemies the player fights are the same ones throughout the game. But if you want them to be interesting you could turn on the option for it. Bears. We need lots of bears.
Step: 16: The companion should be either reused from other games or new and have uninteresting quests that are contrived to fit the story. Also make sure most are annoying, cannot be kick from your party. You know, piss the player off.
Step 17: Add in numerous references from the books that most players have not read.
Step 18: Make sure the jump button is the same as the interact button
Step 19: Swearing, nudity and sex are our idea of adult content, not adult writing, have boobs and shit.
Step 20: Release the game. Count all the cash you "stole" from your fans built on the laziness and lies that you told. Oh, and don't forget to collect your reward of bullshitters of the year.
So yeah, if DA4 follows DAI production steps, it's going to be just awesome. I for one look forward to the lies, the scheming and a heaping pile of bullshit. I'm so excited!

consider
the Wardens are occupied doing who knows what + fan theories that a ‘double’ or ‘super’ Blight is coming (2 Archdemons) + the official site update image filename contains “Blight” + the spread of red lyrium in DAI & clear abundance of it in DA4 teases + red lyrium darkspawn from concept art + Ghilan’nain mutated darkspawn from TN Don't forget the shots that clearly look as though they are in the Anderfels/Weisshaupt and what could be Kal-Sharok, where we have been given strong hints there is something dodgy behind their survival. Also Davrin. If they are starting to showcase him this early then I think he is going to be a major influence in the game and not someone we can ignore. Plus, Solas really gets his knickers in a twist over anything Warden related but particularly over the plan to kill the last two Old Gods. I was criticising him heavily for not saying more in the main game because he clearly knew something about the origins of the Blight and the relationship of the Old Gods to it and that was before the revelations in Trespasser. The only good thing he had to say about the Wardens was: "They've bought us some time, I will grant them that." I'm pretty confident the Blight is going to rear its ugly head in the next game in a big way, particularly when the promo shot saying the world needs a new hero is captioned over "the Darkness" and blighted lyrium.

I still want the Madman of Chaos darkspawn. He's a old pal of Cory and the Architect. If one can explain what happened in the Golden City, my bets are on the Madman of Chaos. He's likely the one that ate another talking darkspawn in the dwarf's story. I used to have a theory that perhaps it was the actual high priest of the Old God who went to the Black City that was needed to wake their respective Old God. So Corypheus woke Dumat; the Madman woke Zazikel, etc. The reason it took so long between the 4th and 5th Blights is that the Architect lost his memory but he found his way to Urthemiel eventually. If there were 7 high priests involved, it does make you wonder what became of the others. If the gods needed to be awakened in a certain order then both the Augur of Mystery and the Watchman of the Night may have been waiting out the years while the Architect fulfilled his role. Then they started to move again. As the Old God of Night (for this read Darkness) who may also have associations with Falon'Din, god of the dead, I'd lay good money on Lusacan being in favour of the Blight, if not actually behind its creation/release. When he rises, the world would be covered in an endless Blight and "Night covers all", as his cultists like to say.

Except obviously we're going to be able to fly, considering metal wings on TN cover and pink butterfly magic wings on the centipede pic.
The metal wings on the TN cover I think you are referring to is simply the Grey Warden shield or am I missing something? As for the pink butterfly wings, may be it is some sort of magical protection or some other feature to enhance combat, but I suppose it could be magical wings.
Still the floating ships in the other picture do suggest that at some point levitation/flying magic is going to be a feature of the game. It was already part of the lore in both the Core Rule Book (levitation of small objects) and in the Last Flight (to get the mock aravels airborne) so it was only a matter of implementing it technically to get it into the game.

Recognize that name, one of the Youtube reviewers. (Not directed at you smilesja....directed at everyone in general) When AAA games try and target everybody, they naturally have to try and please everybody. That won't change whether social media exists or not. The days when companies made a game and people liked it or not were in the days with far less budget per game and therefore far fewer people needed to buy the game to be deemed successful. Therefore companies could afford for players to like it or not.

My last line about flying was meant to have a at the end , and meant to be tongue in cheek "I'm exaggerating for fun" sort of humor. But we maintain flight in Anthem, and EA has forced them to use Anthem's code, so flying is much more easily a thing than it used to be. Especially if they're expecting us to battle such massive creatures, even if we have like a "super jump" for some classes , I just think we're not going to be as attached to the ground in DA4

Hmmmm if the arch demons are really unleashed by their member of the magisterial sidereal then what happens to the Old God whose High priest was eaten? If Urthemiel waited so long to wake because The Architect couldn't remember, perhaps Lusacan or Razikale waits so long because there's no one to wake them up.

Nowadays everyone wants a say and it done "their way" Too many people to try and please, therefore many are going to be upset regardless. Just play the game....or don't. (Not directed at you smilesja....directed at everyone in general) Really? You believe that no one criticized games before the internet? All the internet did was make those opinions more known. Furthermore, criticizing Pong or Pac-Man is a bit hard to do when at the time it was a technological marvel.
And yes, there is good and bad criticism.
There is no such thing as a perfect game. ALL games no matter how good they are will have flaws. Do I expect a game to be done my way? Absolutely not. But what I do expect is for a game company to show passion for their art and respect to their fans.
You cannot please everyone. This is true. But, when a person shares his or her opinion, [to me] it shows he or she has passion about the game and wants to convey their opinion in hopes of someone listening and perchance a better outcome. Or hell, opening up other peoples mind to flaws that they never saw. You know, learning.
Criticism can be healthy and open doors. I recall a gentleman, a few years back, who was a critic for video games and after years of doing so, he now works for the company. There are countless people whose job is criticizing video games or movies or even books. But according to you, it's not about being passionate, they are just complaining and should just shut up because all they want to do is be pleased and want it done their way.
Considering you are complaining about people complaining, sounds to me that you want to be pleased and opinions done your way -- as in none. You know, just nod your head and smile.
Let me go dig my English Literature degree out of my ass. People are not alike. One person can see the color blue in an object, while another will see the color green. It's all a matter of the individual's interpretation. So, yes, it is possible for a person or persons to misconstrued someone's words. And by the way, it should be, "If anyone" not "When everybody." But I probably just misconstrued your words on account of your bad writing.

My last line about flying was meant to have a at the end , and meant to be tongue in cheek "I'm exaggerating for fun" sort of humor. But we maintain flight in Anthem, and EA has forced them to use Anthem's code, so flying is much more easily a thing than it used to be More important it is a part of DA lore that it can be done, both in the books and on screen. Remember Corypheus at the Well of Sorrows? Now that may have had something to do with red lyrium or his blight magic powers but the precedent is there. I have a sneaky hope for a flying mount by just the PC flying using the Anthem codes and having it explained by magic rather than a back pack will do.
